A vegan barbecue doesn't have to be a sad occasion, despite what most carnivorous barbacue-ers might say!! Freshly baked bread, caramelised onions, soft grilled aubergine, courgette, home-made dressing + ketchup and mustard to top it off. What should we do on the barbecue next week?! --- General aside: we've moved house in Pichilemu now and have loads of updates to share with you lovely people. Stay tuned, lots of love ❤😄 --- #veganbbq #summerbbq #homecooking #healthyeating #loveyourfood #veganochile #veganos #asadovegano #asados #asadoverano (at Pichilemu, Chile)

Oh we do like to be beside the seaaaa, especially when Jack Johnsons surfing in it! I always knew that Chris and I were 🎵Better Together when we decided to leave our worlds behind and travel halfway across the world on bicycles, we always say 🎵Do you remember when we did that ridiculously silly thing or that really scary stuff happened and we laugh because 🎵Dreams be dreams but what's really incredible is that we 🎵Never know where we are going to end up, and life at times can completely tip you 🎵Upside down. A few times we have ended up chatting over our 🎵Red wine, mistakes mythologies and sometimes just🎵sitting, waiting, wishing for the right thing to come along. But as always, just like an 🎵Angel is looking down on us, everything is fine. It's 🎵Times like these that we really laugh and party with life, because it is truly crazy how we ended up to be here. Something made us stay here and our hearts only sing 🎵To the sea these days. We really should laugh and party with life everyday. ____________________ #tothesea #jackjohnson #surflife (at Punta de Lobos)

Thanks to our awesome boss and the guys at @lotuscl we were able to watch Jack Johnson live in Santiago last night. It was a super special experience and we felt so blessed to be invited. There was a really beautiful atmosphere for the outside live show and some amazing sponsors came to support the event too, including lots of information about where we now live @pichilemuptdlbs _ Jack played our two special songs, Angel and Better Together at the end, which gave us enough time to shuffle all the way to the back and enjoy a dance together. It felt like we were right back at our wedding two months ago. _______________________ #jackjohnson #bettertogether #savethewave #santiago (at Espacio Riesco)

Welcome all to another beautiful weekend! We have been busy bees in the hotel over the last few days but we are proud to say we have a great booking system up and running and this weekend we are just over half full with lots of happy guests. ☺👌 Peggy has become the perfect chill out place with our growing sunny days, and we manage to finish up most of our work by the time the gorgeous sun sets over the sea. It's strange to think that a lot of you are heading into winter soon, everyone's getting cosy and preparing for Christmas! It's hard to feel the Christmas spirit when it's so warm and sunny outside! ________________________ #homeiswhereyouparkit #summeriscoming #vanlifers (at Punta de Lobos)

Peggy looks quite happy among all the beautiful yellow rapeseed flowers doesn't she? We've made quite a home for her here at Conviento De Lobos, which brings us on to our latest news! We are still very much impatiently waiting to hear news about our visa, but since we have come to a bit of a standstill we have fallen in love with the town of Pichilemu. _ A week ago, in Punta De Lobos, we decided to explore Conviento De Lobos, a beautifully built, chilled yoga retreat with accommodation that is soon to be opening a restaurant on its grounds. Since then we have had several meetings with the owner and with the soon to be head chef and we have been offered jobs and a place to live! (photo) _ We felt this vibe when we entered the Conviento, this good energy led us to speaking about working here. The place was built by two lovely spirited people called Gonzalo and Macarena, they have been running the yoga retreat lodge for a long time on their own but wish to take a step back from their busy working schedules and spend time with their children. They have handed over the responsibility of El Rezo (the new restaurant) and much of the "convent" to Lucho and we are especially blessed to have become partners with him. _ Together we are going to be working to make this special place even more magical. Ariel is going to be the head waitress and shop-keeper and Chris will be the head groundskeeper and all round helper man, greeting guests to the convent and sharing information. We will be working closely with Lucho (the head chef) in marketing and in the kitchen and we are very excited to get this off the ground. We are going to be in the kitchen over the next couple of weeks helping build great menus and figuring out a way to make this unique place work even better than it has done until now. One of the best things about this opportunity is the understanding and cooperation that has already been passed around. It's great to be a part of building something we really believe there's so much good in. There's nothing but positive energy here and we are very grateful to be able to stay and help make it grow. Let's get to work @conviento_de_lobos ! (at Conviento de Lobos)

Life in Chile can at times seem like life in any western country. Chile has giant shopping centres owned by powerful corporations and supermarkets owned by the same corporations. City life is reflecting modern western society more and more. However, you often don't have to go too far away from a big city to get a taste of traditional Chilean culture. And in Chilean culture the horse is very important. _ It's very normal, on dirt roads all throughout Chile, to see a man* riding a horse, dressed in traditional garb simply going about his daily errands. _ Here in Pichilemu, this tradition is being exploited to provide a means of income; horse riding on the beach is the livelihood of some of the locals here. They bring the horses to the beach, especially on weekends, to give tourists a chance to ride these majestic creatures. The sad part is that these horses have almost no freedom; they stand in the sun most of the day and only stretch their legs when a paying customer comes along. At night, they are taken back to holding areas, where they are often tied down again to prevent their wandering. _ What kind of a life is that for beautiful, intelligent animals that would otherwise be running around and socialising with others of their species? It's not our place to judge the locals here, they are simply the supply for the demand. If they weren't doing it, then somebody else would. _ However, if the demand weren't there, the horses wouldn't have to be either. They could be set free to live out their days and no longer bred to the end goal of being enslaved animals. No living creature deserves to have its freedom revoked, and if the only sacrifice is that we have to enjoy a walk instead of being carried by an animal, well, that's not so bad, is it? * To this day, we have only seen males riding horses in Chile. ____________ #animalphotography #animalrights #animalawareness #compassion (at Pichilemu Chile)

There's been a strange atmosphere surrounding us and Peggy recently. A good kind of strange, a sense of calm. This may be us living by the seaside, or actually just staying parked in the same place for longer than three days, but there's still this very noticeable overflow of stillness around us. We become more aware of this feeling when the sun makes the sky go like this, and says goodbye for the day. It shows up when we wake up and hear the birds outside and the distant roaring of the sea. The sea is always roaring. But it's that drone of noise, the crashing of waves that has resonated in us and has allowed us to just be, to just accept and fall in love. ______________________ #loveandlight #vanlifediaries #lifeontheroad #homeiswhereyouparkit (at Pichilemu Chile)

This is our bedroom/living/dressing/dining room! At the back of Peggy we have used all the space we have to our advantage and we made sure we made a bed that could be pushed back into a sofa in the day time! _ The table lifts out from our storage unit and becomes our food and work space, if it's a nice day we open the back doors and let the breeze come through, but today is pretty overcast so we will show you that another time. When everything you own is in such a tiny space, having sneaky storage is crucial (we stuff all our odds and ends in our under bed storage). You'd be surprised how easy it is to lose things too 😂 ___________________ #tinyliving #homeonwheels #vanlifediaries #vanconversion (at Chile)

It's time to show you guys some of the inside of our moving home! This is our kitchen area/dancefloor. We wake up each morning and toast some bread on the stove, cut and mash an avocado and boil the kettle for a cup of tea. It's the one thing we do in routine everyday. The scenery changes outside of the window but one things for sure, you'll always hear that stove on, cooking up our breakfast before we leave to explore. _ Our favourite thing about this kitchen is that we built everything ourselves, it's us, in the quirks and smaller mistakes, it just works and it's perfect for what we need. We even saved some gingham fabric from our wedding to act as a curtain for our cooking pot shelf. There's already a ton of memories in this van and we haven't even lived in her for a month yet! What do you think of our rockin' kitchen? _________________ #vanlifediaries #selfbuilt #vanconversion #tinyhome (at Pichilemu, Chile)

Peggy is officially pimped out for summer today, we went and bought some beach chairs to allow us to work, read and watch the sea outside - and boy is it the perfect day to do so. _ One of the most amazing things about living in Peggy is the versatility of living. Now with our rockin' foldaway chairs we can move our projects outside when the sun is shining. Just over week ago we were up a mountain, freezing out tootsie's with three blankets on the bed, today we've kicked off the shoes, grabbed the sunnies and starting wood carving by the beach! #vanlifediaries #springishere #sudamerica #lifeonwheels (at Pichilemu, Chile)

Today is world MENTAL HEALTH DAY. So to share the love, awareness and hope to all those who are suffering with a mental health issue, those who have recovered from one or those supporting someone fighting one - KEEP GOING, KEEP FIGHTING. _ The going is rough, there are good days and bad days, and a lot of people are out there right now, feeling more alone than ever. Its our duty to look out for other humans, other people who may not have that person to talk to. Katie battled Anorexia, depression and PTSD, she was afraid to tell anyone and she didn't want to speak to anyone, now after her recovery she realised just how much sooner she could have recovered with having the right support and talking honestly about how she felt. There are still bad times, but the fight is easier now. A problem shared really can be a problem halved. _ Let's join our hands again and allow people to talk about their feelings, let's not judge others from their mental health issues but raise them to see the person they truly are - because, you have my word, they are worth it. _ #worldmentalhealthday #mentalhealthawareness #anorexiawarrior #ana #depression #ptsd (at Pichilemu, Chile)

Yesterday we watched Pichilemu's Women's Pro Surfing finals! We drove up to the coast expecting wicked winds and deserted beaches and stumbled upon a great event - we were fortunate enough to witness the quarter, semi and grand final of the competition at Punta De Lobos (where the competition was actually held) _ The extreme talent that we saw yesterday from all the wonderful ladies (or should we say mermaids) was outstanding. Two women, one from Costa Rica and the other from Australia battled it out in the finals. The pressure was intense as they have 35 minutes to impress the judges and catch the biggest 🌊 To us they were all winners, it looked damn cold in there too! But they made every move look easy and we just wanted to grab some boards and join them (but we embarrass ourselves enough😂) (at Punta Lobos)

This is one of our favourite shots from our hike up to Siete Tazas last week. Siete tazas "seven cups" represents the seven pools (or cups) of water created from descending waterfalls. It's a loud but extremely beautiful place to be and it's just another reminder that this world we live on is very much alive. (at Radal Siete Tazas National Park)

Not a bad place to be stuck for three days are we right? We ventured up some mountains to visit El Radal's Siete Tazas National Park and gradually made our way up to the snow topped mountains... not expecting a nightly hail storm that would ice the road tracks and chill us to the bone! _ We spend a lot of time warning up in Peggy, cooking on the gas stove, making teas and snuggling under our giant duvet which is a bit too giant for our smallish bespoke bed and plotting our next moves. Until we hear a decision from the folk at the immigration center we are meandering around nearby national parks and dreaming big of our future... Let's just hope they decide well 😆😅 (at Radal Siete Tazas National Park)

Two weeks ago we said our vows, did a lot of dancing (and drinking 😏) ate some cake and reunited with a bundle of amazing people. Our wedding was the most magical day, it was better than we had ever dreamed it and we are super excited to be continuing our lives here on the road, as the strongest team imaginable! 💪💏 If ya'll want to see more photos of the wedding head over to @funcouplephotos _ We've lost touch with some of our followers on here and although being super busy is no excuse, we are officially back in Peggy, on the road and ready for a whole new bunch of exploring and photo snapping. _ If you're new to us - WELCOME ABOARD. We are two happy-go-lucky newly weds living in our self converted van, travelling around Chile... the rest is yet to be discovered...OOO, ALSO, we applied for our temporary residency here about a week ago, we will hopefully be hearing news of this over the next couple of months 🔜‼ It's all really exciting for us so please join us for the ride.
