|How does your OC fight?|

Izzrhys is the most seasoned fighter out of my OCs. He learned much of what he knows from his time training at Melee-Magthere in Menzoberranzan. Back then, I’d say his fighting style most closely resembled that of a battle master fighter. He preferred versatile weapons, and favored the longsword in particular. He practiced the z’ress athalak (force of war) fighting style, which is a relatively rare form among drow. It puts emphasis on physical strength rather than accuracy, and practitioners of the style learn how to essentially cleave through enemies and are often capable of breaking enemies’ weapons with brute force.

After being severely injured and mostly bedridden for months, Iz was essentially knocked back to level 1 and forced to relearn everything, but he chose a different path as a paladin of Ilmater. With his new path, his fighting style evolved. While he retained the knowledge and some components of his previous style, Iz developed a fighting style that I'd describe as more of a tank. A fighting style that says “hit me instead.” He's quick to dive into the front lines, often without regard for his own safety. He keeps some of that brute force from z’ress athalak, but now, he carries a shield. Iz can use just about any weapon you put in his hand, but he finds that bludgeoning weapons make the best use of his strength.

Aesir is an assassin, among other things, by trade. They specialize in stealth and specifically ranged attacks, although assassinations usually meant getting a bit more close and personal. Aesir is a sharpshooter, earning themself the nickname ��Deadeye” from Karlach. Their intimate knowledge of human anatomy is crucial to their fighting style, as it assures quick, often relatively painless kills. Their favored weapon is bow and arrow, specifically something on the smaller side. They usually opt for a smaller recurve bow so they don’t have to completely sacrifice power for concealability. Aesir prefers daggers, usually ones with curved blades, for close combat. 

Xarek's fighting style is based around keeping as much distance from the enemy as possible. He lacks the stamina to fight someone up close, so he does what he can to avoid it. He favors a combination of offensive evocation magic and conjuration, and he excels at crowd control with spells like Hunger of Hadar, Shatter, and Cloud of Daggers. He also can summon powerful creatures from other planes, but 1. Mechanically, there’s not a ton of that in BG3, and 2. It takes a lot out of him. He can be out of commission for the rest of the day or longer if the summon is powerful enough. If locked in one on one combat, he will use Eldritch Blast from a distance, or a combination of Arms of Hadar/Hellish Rebuke if they get directly on him (don’t let this happen, he’ll be pissed).

Aratris learned to fight mostly in wildshape. They favor eagle, boar, elk, and tiger forms for battle, and will choose form based on what they consider best for the job. Also owlbear, but I say that hesitantly because there’s an owlbear form in BG3 but not in D&D 5e. If they’re not in wildshape, they have a preference for polearms, including spears and glaives. Outside of wildshape, they don’t have much of a knack for magic that’s useful in combat and would rather rely on their own physical strength. Aratris is a very agile fighter, one who gets in quick blows and is careful to never leave anything unguarded if they can help it.

Leoryn is a musician by trade and is learning to fight for the first time in BG3. During battle, they deal some damage, but find more of their niche as a supporter of their allies. She tends to favor spells like Vicious Mockery, Silence, Tasha’s Hideous Laughter, Compulsion, and Confusion. Anything that gives her team more control over the battlefield will do. They also lean some into buffing or saving allies with their use of Bardic Inspiration and Cutting Words. As they grow stronger, they are able to learn some spells typical of different classes, but they never really get good with weapons. She keeps a few daggers on her person just in case, but that’s for emergencies only.

Tiresias is a ruthless fighter, leaning into reckless. He revels in the pain of his enemies, and tends to wound everyone at least a bit before killing anyone. He’s fairly well-rounded and does only slightly better at close-range compared to fighting from afar. He is naturally proficient at necromancy, and is an expert curse-weaver. Tiresias favors spells like Bestow Curse and Contagion, and if he accidentally goes too far and kills instead of maiming? Oh well, time to Animate Dead. His proficiency in magic does not mean he neglected physical skills. Quite the opposite. He’s fairly strong, but his biggest flaw in all fighting is that he likes having the means to maim instead of kill, which sometimes means leaving himself open. Tiresias carries a whip, and uses a warhammer, which he can easily make less lethal while still terribly painful. He’s best summed up as someone who likes to play with his prey before killing it.

Okayyyyy, finally getting around to answering. Things got weirdly hectic and I haven't quite had the time to finish.

Also thank you for the asks! I'm answering for Izzrhys, Aesir, and Xarek this time around.

2. Can they take care of a plant? What about a pet? What about a child?

Iz can take care of pets, and is great at caring for children (even if he insists otherwise). Plants are a bit tougher. He doesn't have a green thumb but he could keep a succulent alive no problem, or something else lower maintenance.

Aesir can take care of a pet and that's about it. They find plants a bit touchy, and know it's a whole hobby they don't really have the energy to get into. And a child? They wouldn't know what to do with a child. However, they're the most likely of my OCs to actually want a kid down the line, and as they get older, Aesir actually makes great parent material.

Xarek can't be trusted with another living thing to care for, seeing as he can't take care of himself really. Might be able to take care of like. A cat. Or does an imp count for anything?

5. Speech! Speech! Speech! Speech! Will they give one, and what about? 

Iz has in fact given small speeches, more along the lines of pep talks for a fairly big group before, specifically before battles. He's good at lifting group spirits.

Aesir quite literally can't give a speech. They go completely deer in the headlights.

Xarek could give a speech about the benefits of having a patron. Willing to bet he could get a few people to make a deal with his own patron. Too bad he's at a point where the harm outweighs the good.

14. Would they agree with the term ‘guilty pleasure’? Do they have any?

Iz: Every pleasure is a guilty pleasure for him, but it's not typically a term he uses. I'd say his guilty pleasures do lean towards straight up vices- although he also uses them more to cope. He's the type who cuts loose way too hard because at least it numbs things a little. He doesn't typically consume much alcohol, but on occasion, he binge drinks. He's also engaged in many a one night stand, some of which were teetering towards risky or even dangerous.

Aesir: They read smutty novels and would regard that as a guilty pleasure. Aesir also smokes from time to time, although it's less of a guilty pleasure and more of a coping mechanism. They probably have the most normal view on this question of the three I'm answering for tbh

Xarek: On the flip side, there is no such thing as a guilty pleasure to Xarek. He tries really hard not to apply moral value to the things he does. He's a heavy smoker, although he knows it's bad for him and makes him sicker than he already is. He's also the type to stay out late. Likes to drink, party, and flirt with people. But for him, that at least is all in good fun.

Izzrhys was born 26 Kythorn (June 26), 1389 DR. His zodiac sign is Cancer 🦀

I would consider Iz to be intuitive, compassionate, sensitive and nurturing. Among his more negative traits are a tendency to be protective of his own emotions and memories- to conceal them to the best of his ability- and his tendency to put others before himself to the extreme. He doesn't fit stereotypes of being clingy and overemotional/crying a lot.

Aesir was born 3 Alturiak (February 3), 1465 DR. Their zodiac sign is Aquarius 💧

They are intellectual, creative, and independent. They also tend to be a bit of an outsider and can seem a little cold at first glance. Aesir does not fit the stereotype of being unfeeling. In fact, they feel far too much, so they just lock it all away.

Xarek was born 30 Mirtul (May 30), 1468 DR. His zodiac sign is Gemini 👯

Xarek is curious, playful, charismatic, and finds it easy to fit right in almost anywhere. He's a bit noncommittal and emotionally evasive and will make jokes instead of facing the truth of his own struggles. He somewhat fits the stereotype of being "two-faced." Xarek can change a lot depending on who he's with, and he also has a really major betrayal under his belt (but he was just a kid).

Aratris was born 29 Elient (September 29), 1453 DR. Their Zodiac sign is Libra ⚖️

Aratris is diplomatic, even-tempered, and romantic, with a great appreciation for beauty- especially that found in nature. They don't really have any of the negative traits of a Libra and don't fit the stereotype of being indecisive. In fact, they're quite the opposite. I mostly picked their birthday due to it being around Highharvestide.

Leoryn was born 12 Eliasis (August 12), 1225 DR. Their zodiac sign is Leo 🦁

Is Leo being a Leo a bit on the nose? Sure. But consider this: it's funny.

Leoryn is confident, bold, and generous, and their charisma makes them a natural leader. They can sometimes be a bit self-serving and require a lot of outside validation. They can come across as the stereotype of self-absorbed and a show-off, but again, that's just due to their need for validation.

Tiresias was born 20 Tarsakh (April 20), 1460 DR. His zodiac sign is Taurus 🐂

He is directly on the cusp between Aries and Taurus. Tiresias really only fits the sensuality and persistence of a Taurus as far as positive traits. He tends to have that more fiery, passionate drive associated with Aries. He is stubborn and hates change, but also has the impulse and temper of an Aries. As such, he fits stereotypes for both signs and kind of got the worst of both worlds.
