Yard Games
Prompt: It's Summer, your parents are hosting a backyard BBQ, and a friendly yard game rivalry brings you and Steve closer together.
Warnings: none, fluff
Word Count: 2,376
My one shots just keep getting longer and longer. My dms are always open for ideas. Enjoy :)
........................................
Summers in Hawkins, Indiana meant families took turns opening their backyards up to the neighborhood to host a BBQ every weekend. This weekend, it was your family’s turn to host and the guests were already arriving.
Your mother and father greeted the families at the back gate, ushering them inside and towards the cooler full of drinks. As the neighborhood pooled in, you stayed back, leaning against the far fence waiting for your friends to arrive.
You watched each family as they entered. Each mother carrying some sort of dish that she didn’t need to bring, but she felt was necessary. Each father beelining towards the cooler to grab a beer and take their designated spot around the grill.  Each child running towards the open grass where a game of tag would eventually break out. And then each teen walking in looking like they would rather be anywhere else but here.
You recognized most of them from school. Jenny from math. Nancy from the school paper. Jonathan from English. Someone you weren’t expecting to see though was Steve Harrington.
You had never really talked to Steve when you were both students at Hawkins High. Not that you had anything against him, you just never really crossed paths. But here he was, in your backyard, hands deep in his jeans pockets as he surveyed the scene in front of him.
You pushed yourself off of the fence to go talk to Nancy and Jonathan. Both of their younger brothers had already run off, joining the rest of their younger friend group. You three were catching up on each of your summers when you were interrupted.
“Hey, we need one more person to play, any of you want to join?” All three of you looked over to see Robin waiting for a response. Behind her were two corn hole boards, a sheepish looking Steve, and another boy that you thought you recognized.
“Sure, I’ll play.” You were always up for a little friendly competition and corn hole was right up your alley. You gave a slight wave to Nancy and Jonathan and joined the others at the boards.
“Yes! Thank you, Y/N.” Robin cheered. “I definitely call her to be on my team.”
“Robin! We were supposed to be a team!” Steve actually looked a little devastated.
“Guess you’re with me then Harrington.” The other boy winked at Steve. “I’m Eddie by the way. I don’t think we’ve had the pleasure of meeting.” He stuck out a hand to you.
“Oh right! I think I’ve seen your band play a couple times. I’m Y/N.” You smiled, shaking his hand.
“And that just made you ten times cooler in my book.”
“Alright, alright. Let’s just get this game started.” Steve said from his spot next to one of the boards, hands on his hips.
“Team mates have to be on opposite sides.” Eddie stated, gathering his team’s bags and making his way next to Robin. That left you at the other board next to Steve.
“Rock, paper, scissors to see who throws first. Harrington, you and Y/N do it.” Eddie flicked his head in Steve’s direction. You turned your body to face Steve, fist in your other hand ready to play.
“Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.” You both said the words. Steve’s fist remained a fist, but your hand went flat. You covered his “rock” with your “paper”, and his skin felt hot underneath your touch.
“Damn it.”
“Oh, c’mon Harrington.”
“Oh yeah! Girls go first!” Robin wasted no time in tossing her bag towards the board between you and Steve.
Once Robin and Eddie had both thrown all of their bags, it was you and Steve’s turn. Robin had secured the lead with her tossing, but only by two points. You tossed your first bag and it landed with a thud on the board.
“Yes!” Robin threw her hands in the air and a satisfied smirk pulled at your lips.
Steve glanced over at you before throwing his bag. His also landed on the board, but also pushed yours off. You turned to glare at him and saw that a smirk was tugging at his lips now. Oh, it was on.
Even after a few rounds, the score remained annoyingly close. Steve was much better at this game than you would have thought, but at the same time, it didn’t surprise you all that much.
“C’mon Y/N, we only need 3 more points to beat these dinguses.” Robin was crouched next to the board, as if being closer to the board would will the bags to land on it.
Eddie was on the other side of the board, bent over and giving Steve his own pep talk.“Harrington, don’t let them get inside your head. You can do this, I believe in you.”
“Yeah, alright, let’s take it down a notch. It’s not that serious.” Steve replied, bag in hand.
You both took turns throwing your bags, glancing over at each other between throws. On Steve’s last throw, he sunk his bag into the hole, earning him and Eddie three points, and winning them the game.
“Yes!”
“No!”
Robin crumpled to the grass while Eddie jumped up and ran to Steve giving him a hug.
“You did it, Harrington!”
“Get off of me!”
You walked over to Robin, offering her a hand up which she took.
“This isn’t over!” She called over to the boys. Eddie was still trying to celebrate with Steve, but Steve wasn’t having it.
“Rematch later?” Steve asked, eyebrows raised. And even though he was looking in both you and Robin’s direction, it felt like he was making eye contact with you.
“You’re on.” You replied.
The four of you dispersed, grabbing drinks and food. The sun was starting to set and the warmth was fading with the light. You grabbed a plate of food and made your way over to the brick wall by the patio. You watched as everyone else chatted in small circles of people, sipping drinks and snacking on food. Your people watching was interrupted when Steve joined you, hopping up on the wall.
“You know, you’re not so bad at corn hole.” He said, taking a sip of his drink.
“What, you thought I was going to be bad?” You asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
“No, no, of course not, but does anyone ever look at someone and say ‘man, I bet they’re good at corn hole’?” You giggled a bit at his response and a small smile tugged at his lips.
“No, I guess not.” You made eye contact with him, but quickly looked down at your lap, the gaze felt a little too intense. “I wasn’t surprised that you were good though.”
He laughed a little. “Well, I mean I hate to brag, but I am pretty good at putting things in holes.” Your eyes shot up from your lap to him and the stupid grin he had on his face.
“Steve!” You laughed, slapping him on the arm.
“Oh don’t go there. I was obviously talking about corn hole. You’re the one with the dirty mind.” You were both laughing at this point and a slight blush had tinged your cheeks.
“Whatever.” Your eyes went back to the yard of people. You noticed a couple families, especially those with younger children, had started to head home for the night. The ones who stayed were still gathered in groups, just many more of them were sitting at this point.
“So, you still up for a rematch?” Steve asked. You looked over at him again and the eye contact made your stomach flip. “Or are you scared to lose again?”
“You’re on.”
………………………………………
“Ok, that’s cheating.”
“What?”
“You’re cheating.”
“No, I’m not.”
You and Steve stood across from each other, each next to a board. You were doing your best to try to keep score, but Steve had a new rule every five seconds.
“How am I cheating? I’m just standing here.”
“You’re trying to distract me.” He replied, bag still in hand that he had been trying to throw for what felt like ages.
“No, I’m not.” You crossed your arms over your chest. “I’m literally not doing anything.”
“You’re being distracting.” Steve straightened up from where he had been leaned forward.
“Ok, should I turn around then?” You asked and turned your back to him.
“No, that’s even worse.” You laughed a bit at his remark.
“Steve, just throw the damn bag.” You turned back around and watched as he slightly bent over again and tossed the bag. It landed just short of the board in the grass.
“See! I told you, you were trying to distract me. And it worked.” You rolled your eyes at him, picking up the bags and getting ready for your turn. Just about everyone else had left at this point, even Steve’s family, but he told them he was going to stay. Your parents had even gone inside, instructing you to turn off the outdoor lights and lock the doors when you came in.
“I think you’re just coming up with excuses because you’re losing.” You said as you tossed your bag. It landed on the board and slid til it fell in the hole.
“That’s it.” Steve said and then came running at you.
“Steve!” Your eyes widened with fear and your heart jumped as he came barreling towards you.
You took off across the yard, not really sure why you were running or why Steve was chasing you, but you were laughing hysterically. Of course, he was much faster than you and caught up to you with ease. His arms reached out, attempting to wrap around your waist, but one of his feet knocked against yours causing you to trip and take him down with you.
You landed on the grass with a hard thud and braced yourself for Steve to fall on top of you, but thankfully he caught himself with his hands, his body stopping right above yours. Another fit of laughter escaped you as you looked up at Steve. His eyes switched from concern to amusement as he began to chuckle along with you.
“Sorry, that’s not how I expected that to go.” He said, breaking eye contact and letting his hair fall in front of his face.
“It’s ok.” You laughed, grabbing his arm in reassurance. His eyes darted to where your hand was and then back to you. You quickly removed your hand. “But can you maybe get off of me now?”
A blush dusted his cheeks. “Oh, yeah, sorry.” He rolled over so he was laying next to you, you both looking up at the starry sky.
You both stayed quiet for a minute, but you were still very aware of how close Steve was to you. Although he wasn’t touching you, you could feel the heat radiating from his arm that was inches from yours. You turned your head slightly to look at him and your breath caught in your lungs a bit when you saw his eyes were already on you.
“How did you expect it to go?” You asked.
“What?” His brow furrowed a bit.
“You said that falling on me isn’t how you expected chasing me to go. So how did you expect it to go?” Your eyes remained on his.
“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe it  just wouldn’t have ended with me tripping you.” You let out a soft laugh at his words and his lips turned upward in reply.
“I can’t even imagine what you must have had in mind.” You said and brough yourself up onto your elbows. Steve mimicked your movements, both of you looking up at the night sky.
“Well, I did have something else in mind.” He said a bit sheepishly. You looked over at him but his eyes remained on the stars above.
“Are you going to tell me? Or do I have to win another game of corn hole to earn it?” You asked mockingly. His gaze whipped over at you and you couldn’t stop the smile pulling at the corners of your mouth.
“Yeah, like you would win another game anyways.” He said, rolling his eyes. You smacked his arm.
“I was just taking it easy on you earlier. Wanted to be a good host and let the guests win.” He shook his head, but you could see him fighting a smile.
A comfortable silence settled between you. You diverted your gaze from his once again to look up at the sky, but you could still feel his eyes on you. You felt him lean in closer to you, close enough where your arms were flesh against each other.
“Look at that.” Steve said and you followed his arm to see he was pointing at a shooting star.
“That’s so cool.” You commented, trying to ease the way your heart was beating a bit quicker at the close proximity. He was so close and the cool night air was suddenly hot around you. His arm dropped from where it was pointing and he brought his hand to your chin. Gently caressing your face and turning you to him.
“Is this ok?” He asked, voice barely above a whisper. Your faces were inches from each
other. So close that you could feel his breath fan across your lips.
“Yes.” You didn’t mean to sound so breathless. Who knew Steve Harrington would have this effect on you.
He closed the gap between you both. Hand still lightly touching the side of your face as your lips touched. The kiss was feather light, almost to the point of where you weren’t sure if it was actually happening, but you knew it was. Your body was lighting up like the starry night sky.
Steve pulled back, much too soon for your liking, but his hand remained on your face. His thumb slowly stroking back and forth across your cheek.
“That’s what I was expecting.” He said, voice still a bit quiet.
“What?” You weren’t sure if your brain was working correctly. All you could think about was Steve’s lips on yours.
“That’s how I was expecting chasing you to end, but I think it went much better this way.”

Best Friends & Cosmos
Prompt: “I’ve been flirting with you for three years. It’s about time you start to catch on.”
Pairing: Steve Harrington x Reader
Warnings: none, fluff
Word Count: 1,489
Really didn't mean to make this one this long, but I miss writing and want to get back into it a little bit :)
...................................................................................................................
You toss another piece of clothing to the side where it joins a pile that has started to accumulate in the corner of your bedroom.
“What was wrong with that one?” Steve asks from where he’s sprawled out across your bed. His eyes follow yet another shirt as you toss it to the far corner before flicking back down to the latest edition of Cosmopolitan.
“That’s it, I have nothing to wear.” A huff of exasperation leaves your lips.
“Are you going to tell that to the pile of clothes in the corner, or do you want me to?” Steve turns another page of the magazine.
“Steve, this isn’t funny. I’m having an actual crisis over here.” You move across the room to start working your way back through the entirety of your closet that has now become a small mountain on the floor. Steve simply mumbles to himself, flipping another page and you don’t appreciate his lack of concern for your dire situation.
“Steve!” A balled up pair of jeans hit him square in the face.
“Hey!” He finally drops the magazine and turns his attention towards you, a bit of an annoyed expression crosses his features until he sees how genuinely frustrated you are.
“Ok, let me help.” He pushes himself off of your twin bed and begins searching through the mountain of clothes.
“It’s pointless. I have nothing to wear. I just might as well not go.” You take his place and fling yourself on to your bed, burying your head in your pillows.
“Stop it, you’re going.” You turn your head to see Steve holding up a top to a pair of jeans. He shakes his head a bit before picking up a lighter wash pair of jeans.
“Here.” He lays out the outfit on your bed like a mother helping her daughter get dressed for school in the morning. You sit up, eyes glancing over the outfit, then back at Steve. His eyebrows are raised expectantly. “Well?”
“I don’t know.”
“C’mon at least try it on.” He picks up the clothes again, thrusting them into your hands and pushing you towards the bathroom.
“Wait, ok, I actually like this.” Your voice is muffled by the bathroom door. You open it to see Steve sitting on your bed again, magazine in hand. He looks up when he hears you enter the room again and you swear his eyes glimmer? No, it must just be the lighting.
“You're welcome.” Sarcasm laces his tone and the magazine is once again tossed to the side.
You stand in front of the floor length mirror propped against the wall admiring the outfit Steve picked out. “How did you do this? What are you, a fashion god?”
“It’s not hard. Anything would have looked good on you.” Your eyes cut to his reflection in the mirror. He looks away instantly, cheeks a little flushed just like yours.
“Well, thank you.” Your gaze stays on his reflection a beat longer before turning to the watch on your wrist. “Shit, he’s almost here.”
You pull open the closet door once again to dig through your shoes. You pull your white sneakers on, almost losing balance as you do so. Steve is instantly by your side, fingers wrapped around your arm to help steady you. You glance up at him, the same warm feeling rushing to your cheeks.
“Thank you.” He gives you a close lipped smile in return, maintaining eye contact before the car horn in the driveway breaks it.
“He’s here!” All of a sudden you're a bit breathless as the nerves all come rushing back. Steve releases your arm and watches as you rush around the room gathering various items to throw in your bag: lip gloss, gum, house key.
“Thank you again, Steve. You’re the best.” You flash him a smile and throw your arms around his neck in a quick hug. He doesn’t even have time to wrap his arms around you before you’re running out the door.
“Don’t have too much fun.” He calls after you. The door slams behind you in reply.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
It’s 10pm when the headlights pull back into your driveway. You thank your date for a nice night and he promises to call you tomorrow, but all you can think about is trying to remember every last detail of your date to tell your best friend all about it. You’re quiet when entering the house, careful not to wake the rest of your family as you make your way to your room. A sliver of light peeks out from under the door which strikes you as odd, you never leave your lamp on when you’re not home. You push the door open and are a bit startled to see Steve in the same position he was earlier, laid back against the pillows with a magazine held above his face.
“Steve!” Your shout is more of a whisper. You obviously startled him too as he nearly drops the magazine and shoots up from his relaxed position. “What are you still doing here?”
“I just got so caught up in these magazines.” He lifts up the edition of Cosmopolitan that he was looking through moments earlier. “Did you know that your personality matches a season?”
You walk over and jerk the magazine from his grip.
“Well, you’re definitely not a summer with that attitude.”
“Why are you here?” You ask again, piling the rest of the magazines strewn across the bed and placing them neatly on your nightstand. You also notice that the pile of clothes that was once in the corner of your room is no longer there.
“I was waiting on you.” He shrugs his shoulders and lays back against the pillows again watching as you put away things from earlier. “How was your date?” He wiggles his eyebrows a bit and you roll your eyes at the action.
“I know you didn’t sit here in my room for hours waiting for me to come home to tell you about my date.” You toe off your shoes and sit on the end of your bed.
“Well I had to wait and hear about how good my outfit did.” Your annoyed exterior breaks as a smile tugs at your lips.
“The date was fine, but I don’t think your outfit had anything to do with it.” A breath of a chuckle follows your words.
“Fine? What happened? I thought you really liked this guy.” Steve puts his hands behind his head, all of his focus on you.
“I did, I mean I do, I just, I don’t know. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t really good either, you know?” Your eyes find his again like you’re awaiting his confirmation.
He nods. “Well it was just one date, you don’t have to have it all figured out right now.”
You sigh. “I know, I just thought it would be different, that I would feel different.” You fully lay back and stare at the ceiling.
“Y/N,” Steve pauses and you hum in reply. “Don’t stress yourself out about this. You’re a great girl and any guy would be lucky to be with you.” That same warm feeling from earlier comes rushing forward again. The same feeling that you were waiting for while you were out on your date, but it never came.
“Thanks, Steve.”
“So, did he kiss you?”
“Steve!”
“What? It’s a valid question. I put together that outfit with a goodnight kiss in mind.”
“So were you thinking about kissing me then?” You roll over onto your side to face Steve fully. His full smile quickly drops and you watch his Adam’s apple bob as he swallows.
“Never said that.”
“Maybe you didn’t have to.” You’re completely teasing him, but Steve feels like you’ve fully caught on to him now. His gaze holding yours makes the entire atmosphere of the room shift from one of playful to a bit more serious. Your teasing smile has dropped significantly and Steve is looking at you like he can see your soul.
“Oh, c’mon I know you weren’t. I was just teasing.” You’re trying desperately to shift that air back to the friendly, playful one that always encompasses you and Steve. RIght now, it feels like you’re both walking a line that actually feels more like a tightrope.
“There you go again thinking you know my intentions.” A small smile tugs at his lips and the breath you didn’t realize you were holding is released. There it is, back to normal. You grin back at him and shake your head slightly.
“I’d like to say that I know you better than anyone. We’ve been friends for over three years.” Steve sits up slightly and it feels like you’ve stepped out onto the tightrope once again. What is going on?
“Well, I’ve been flirting with you for three years. It’s about time you start to catch on.”

Just Friends (Young!Sirius Black)
So I have some strong feelings towards young!Sirius Black and the marauders’ era. This wasn’t requested unless me requesting it counts. This is just a one shot.
word count: 1201
“Sod off, James.” You say with a roll of your y/e/c eyes.
“Oh c'mon y/n.” James replies not even looking at you. “Just friends don’t look at each other like that.”
You scoff at his remark even though it gets you thinking. Was James right?
“Remus.” You whine. He was the one you trusted the most out of the group of boys.
“Y/N.” He responds by mocking your tone.
“Do you agree with James?” You question as the three of you continue down the corridor towards the dining hall.
“You want my honest opinion?” Remus asks looking over at you.
“No, she wants you to lie to her.” James interrupts looking across you at Remus.
“Shut up.” You groan with a slap to his chest. Remus raises his eyebrows to you as if James hadn’t said anything at all.
“The truth.” You sigh.
“I agree with James.”
“Remus! Why?” Your voice was louder than you intended as several heads turned towards the group. A light blush comes across your cheeks at the attention.
“Y/N you know why, you just won’t admit it.” Remus says those words like he’s said them a thousand times.
You pout as you all take your places at the Gryffindor table. James makes sure to leave a seat next to him open so Sirius could join them. And of course, he made sure it would be across from you.
You definitely wouldn’t admit it, but you liked the idea of you and Sirius. You liked his confidence and the way he giggled when he was drunk. You liked when he fell asleep on your shoulder and his hot breaths fanned across your neck. And above all, you loved the feeling that rushed through your veins when his eyes met yours. The simplest things about Sirius made your heart pump louder inside your chest. Your daydreaming was cut short by the beauty himself sitting in front of you.
“Nice of you to join us, Pads.” You say with a slight smirk.
“I’m a busy guy, love.” He replies matching your smirk. James and Remus share a look.
“So, what are we doing tonight?” James asks before shoveling a fork full for food into his mouth.
“I’ve got a bottle of firewhiskey dying to be drunk.” You could barely make out his words through his mouthful of bread.
“It’s Thursday night.” Remus brings up.
“So? We don’t have class until 10 tomorrow.” James points out. You all nod at his words.
“Well, I’m definitely up for getting wasted. My potions class was a living hell.” You say looking around at your friends.
“Then’s settled.” Sirius grins at you and once again Remus and James glance at each other.
“One more.” Remus states. He was always like a fatherly figure to the rest of you. “Then we need to go up to our dorms if we have any chance of making our classes tomorrow.”
“Oi, lighten up, Moony.” Sirius scoffs at his friend. He passes the bottle to James who takes a sip. James then passes it to Remus who does the same before passing it to you. You prepare yourself for the burn in your throat but it never comes. Sirius had jerked the bottle from your hand.
“Hey!” You whine trying to reach over him for the bottle.
He chuckles at your drunken attempt. “You’ve had enough, love.” You jut your bottom lip out and cross your arms.
“And with that, I’m out. See you guys tomorrow.” Remus says as he stands and slightly stumbles towards the boys’ dormitory. He makes it to the steps before glancing back at James.
“C'mon James.” Remus calls with an overexaggerated motion of his arm.
“I’m good.” James replies leaning his back against one of the couches. Remus mutters something before walking back over and jerking James off the floor.
“G'night guys.” James waves. You giggle and wave back blowing a kiss to your two best friends.
Sirius takes another sip from the bottle raising his eyebrows at you when he realizes your looking at him.
“What?” He laughs when he takes the bottle away from his lips. The lips that you so desperately wanted on your own.
“Nothing. You’re just so pretty.” You hiccup poking his cheek with your finger. His smile broadens.
“C'mere love.” He opens his strong arms and you waste no time putting yourself in them. You’re now in his lap and your heart beats like crazy. You feel his large hands spread across your back holding you in place.
“If anyone in here is pretty, it’s you.” He whispers into your ear. His hot breath drove you mad. You cover your burning face with your hands.
“Ey, don’t hide from me.” Sirius removes your hands with your own and you’re met with his beautiful smile. He brushes his thumb against your cheek before running it across your bottom lip. Your lips part slightly and his smile is replaced by a look of concentration as if he was trying to memorize every feature of your face. You notice him leaning in, or were you the one leaning? You weren’t very sure because all of your focus was on the hazel eyes in front of you. You could feel his breath on your lips. This causes your eyes to flutter closed before the moment you had been waiting for all night finally happened.
Sirus’ thumb was replaced by his gentle lips. Your hands were now around his neck as you try to get even closer to the boy. His tongue runs over your bottom lip just as his thumb had done before. You part your lips slightly pulling a bit of hair at the nape of his neck.
“Y/N.” He sighs against your lips. You move closer again until your chests are touching. Sirius’ hands slide from your face to your waist gripping it tightly. It was almost like he was afraid you would vanish if he let go.
He breaks the kiss and starts to sponge wet kisses down your jaw towards your neck.
“Sirius.” You moan as he begins to lightly nibble under your ear. He licks over the spot and blows cool air over his mark. You involuntarily grind your hips down into his causing a moan to escape his lips. You move your hips again hoping to get the same reaction but his big hands stop you.
“Love, as much as I want to, and I really do, you’re completely drunk.” His hands still hold you in place straddling his lap.
“Do you wanna leave?” You ask quietly afraid of his answer.
“Now, why would I wanna leave my sweet girl?” His answer brings a smile to your features and this, in turn, causes him to smile. Sirius lifts you off his lap and stands up.
“But, I thought you weren’t leaving?” You ask still on the floor.
“’S not leaving if I take you with me.” He says with an extended hand. Your small hand wraps around his as he helps you up and leads you towards his dormitory.
Needless to say, Remus and James were through the roof when they found you and Sirius cuddling in his bed the next morning.

From the Crowd
Requested: Calum sees her at his concert and has to go seek her out and find her after or whatever
Wow wouldn’t that be a dream? I’m giving myself false hope.
word count: 2006
The hot summer air was humid and sticky as the sun made its slow descent. Y/F/N and I fanned ourselves helplessly with some paper we found in my bag as we waited in the long line to the concert. Y/F/N had managed to score seats just behind the pit and to the right of the stage and I couldn't wait to be out of the sun and in those seats.
"Is this line even moving?" Y/F/N whined while craning her neck to see the front. The line was moving just at a very slow and agonizing pace.
"See, it's moving." I reassure her as we take about three steps forward.
"Yeah, at this rate the concert will be over by the time we get up there." She scoffs and I just shake my head at her.
About half an hour later we are walking through the rows of seats towards the front. The covered arena gives us some shade from the sun, but the humid air is still surrounding us since it's an outdoor pavilion. We plop down into our seats stretching our legs from standing in one spot for so long.
It's not long before the opening act makes their way onto the stage. They greet the audience and we respond with screams. The band begins their short setlist and those that know the songs sing along at the top of their lungs. Y/F/N nod along to the music staying in our seats to rest our legs for the main act.
"Thank you and good night!" The lead singer says into the mic before they gather their instruments and exit the stage.
The sun has finally gone most of the way down and its last few rays paint the sky orange and pink. With the sun gone, the air starts to cool down, but it doesn't last long. All lights on the stage shut off and the sound of a guitar fills the arena. A few screams are heard here and there as the lights flash along with the music. With each brief illumination, I can see three figures standing on the stage and one behind the drums. The sound of drums joins the guitar and then the bass comes along. The entire audience is on their feet in anticipation as the opening notes for Meet You There starts to play.
Y/F/N and I jump around waving our arms wildly as we sing and dance to the music. We end up busting out laughing at each other and our ridiculous dance moves that we don't notice all the eyes that fall on us. As they start their next song, Want You Back, we change it up and pretend we're playing air guitar. We are laughing hysterically by the time the music stops and the boys take a break.
"How are you all doing tonight?" Michael yells into the mic after a few of their songs. The rest of the boys are sipping water and resting. Yells from the audience answer Michael and the smile on his face widens at the noise.
"Luke, how are you doing tonight?" Michael turns to the lead singer who walks back up to his mic.
"I'm doing good, just kind of hot." He runs his hand over his forehead and fans scream in response.
"Ashton, how are you doing tonight?" Michael repeats and turns towards the back where Ashton is sitting behind the drums.
"I'm doing great, man." He laughs into his mic and once again the audience erupts into screams.
"Calum, how are you doing tonight?" Michael points at Calum who puts his water bottle down and grabs his mic.
"I'm doing amazing." Calum responds with amusement in his voice. "But, I think the people over here might be doing better than me."
"What?" Ashton asks standing up to look over his drum kit. Everyone on Calum's side of the stage, including Y/F/N and I, scream in excitement.
"Yeah, they're having a damn good time over here." Calum chuckles and Michael takes his mic off the stand to go join Calum.
"Especially, those two." Calum points a finger towards the crowd, but nobody is certain who he's actually pointing at. Everyone in that general direction screams and waves their arms hoping to get noticed.
"Who?" Luke asks straining his neck a bit to see who Calum's pointing at.
"Those two." Calum repeats still pointing in the same direction. The yelling continues from the fans. The camera is now focusing on our part of the crowd as well and the view is being projected on the big screens on either side of the stage.
"Oh, that brunette and blonde?" Michael asks now looking down Calum's arm to see exactly where he's pointing.
"Yeah, the ones right behind the pit." My jaw drops a bit as the camera focuses on Y/F/N and me.
"Hey! Glad to hear you guys are having a good time." Michael waves at us and we laugh waving back. He walks back over to his side of the stage and they start the music up again, but Calum's eyes still linger on that certain spot in the crowd where we are standing.
"Here we go! This one’s called Talk Fast." Luke says into the mic over the opening notes. The deafening screams start up again and Y/F/N and I go back to our stupid dance moves and singing.
Talk fast, romance
Won't last, I'm okay with that
Word crash, romance
I'll take what I can get from you
As Calum gets ready to sing his verse, his eyes once again come back to where we are standing. I can't be entirely sure, but I'm almost certain we made eye contact at least once during his lines.
Leave all your indecisions with you at home, don't say you're doing me a favor
Why so complicated, won't you throw me a bone? I want your love in every flavor
He's swaying with the music a bit as he strums the bass, but his eyes stay locked on the same position that they seem to keep returning to. My heart pumps faster every time the deep brown eyes try to catch my own. I even catch him chuckling a bit at our dancing and motions.
The night seems to go by quickly and before we know it, they're saying goodnight and exiting the stage. I can feel the sweat on the back of my neck and my skin feels salty from jumping around so much. Y/F/N and I sit back down in our seats waiting for the rest of the crowd to exit. We decided we didn't want to try and force our way through a sea of people and would just wait it out, besides we were exhausted.
After a few moments of waiting, we're back on our feet and walking up the aisle and out of the arena. The merch and food stands are closing and the lighting becomes dimmer as they shut down.
"Hey, I'll be right back." Y/F/N says and points towards the bathrooms.
"I'll be right here." I chuckle. I look around before spotting some picnic tables and make my way over to them to sit down. I'm about the only person out here besides the people who work here. They're sweeping a few pieces of trash up here and there and doing a last minute walk through of the place.
I'm scrolling through my phone when I notice a man run out of where Y/F/N and I just exited. I'm hidden in the shadows a bit so he probably can't see me, but he looks like he's looking for someone. His head whips back and forth before he runs a hand through his dark hair.
"Looking for someone?" I call out. He turns around quickly looking to where I'm standing and straining his eyes a bit.
"Yeah, I'm looking for this girl." An Australian accent replies. My heart beat increases rapidly at the sound. I stand from my spot in the shadows and walk towards him deciding to take a chance. The dim lights illuminate his familiar features and those deep brown eyes finally catch my own. His forehead and neck are glistening a bit from sweat and dark hair is tousled from his hands running through it.
"Never mind, found her." He smiles at me and the skin around his eyes crinkle a bit.
"You were looking for me?" I ask pointing a finger towards myself. I think my heart has actually stopped.
"Yeah." He chuckles and his hand reaches back to rub his neck. "I had to find the girl with the killer dance moves."
"Well, I guess you've found her." I laugh. Y/F/N comes back to join you and after a little bit of a shock, she joins the conversation. She tells Calum what an amazing show they put on and that it was the best night of her life. She glances back and forth between the two of us before excusing herself.
"Um, I'll be standing over there." Y/F/N gestures towards the area with the picnic table and once again, it's just me and Calum.
"So, I was wondering, can I get your phone number?" Calum asks with a hopeful expression that I can only describe as puppy dog eyes. My eyes widen and his expression drops a little.
"If that's okay." He adds cautiously and I shake my head a bit snapping myself out of it.
"Oh, no, I mean, yeah. Sorry, it's just- is this real life?" I ask stumbling over my words. He chuckles again and flashes me a gorgeous smile.
"I'm pretty sure this is real life." He reaches into his back pocket and pulls out his phone placing it in my hands. I gape down at it for a moment before typing in my name and number and handing it back to him.
"Thanks." He takes the phone from me and our fingers brush a bit. He glances down at the contact that I put in before nodding and returning it to his pocket. A bright blush is on my cheeks in an instant at the minimal contact. Thankfully, the dim lighting is helping mask the majority of it.
"Are you supposed to be out here? Couldn't you, ya know, be attacked by fans?" He laughs a bit at my concerned tone and looks at the ground.
"Nah, I'm not supposed to be out here." He kicks a loose rock with his black shoe. "Just had to come find that beautiful girl from the crowd." He looks back up and his eyes lock with mine. My breath hitches a bit at his intense gaze.
"Calum!" A distant voice calls. He turns his head towards the direction of the voice as it calls his name again.
"You probably have to get back." I mumble definitely not wanting him to leave. My eyes are cast downward but they shoot back up when his hand grabs mine. I'm staring at the bits of black ink on his hand before he steps closer to me. My eyes are once again captivated by his dark ones.
"Y/N, I want to see you again." He says softly ignoring the various voices calling his name.
"I do too." My voice is barely above a whisper at how close we are standing. I can feel the warmth of his body radiating against mine. His eyes flicker between my eyes and my lips and I swear I've stopped breathing.
"Sorry for this." He mumbles and before I have time to respond his warm lips are on mine. It's quick, a lot quicker than I would've liked, and within a few seconds, I'm left feeling cold as he takes off towards the voices calling him.
I meet back up with Y/F/N who bombards me with questions as seen as I'm near her. I tell her everything as we walk towards our car and as we're riding home, my phone buzzes.
Sorry that was quick, hopefully, there will be more to come :) - Cal x

Hi~! Can I request a ship for one direction please? I’m very petite in size and I have big green eyes. I’m very shy and awkward around strangers. But I’m more talkative, bubbly, outgoing, and giggly around my friends. I’m soft spoken and gentle, but I’m also VERY sarcastic lol. I hate mornings and crowds lol. I love sleeping, watching movies, animals, kids, singing, playing instruments, and making others laugh. I blush very easily and I love to cuddle, especially when I’m tired lol. Thank you~!
Yeah you can! So the entire time I was reading this I was just thinking Niall! I feel like he could definitely get along with you once you got to know each other. Yall would just be such a fun couple. Around a group of people, you would help balance Niall’s loudness and extrovert personality with your more soft spoken one. I could definitely see you two being the type of couple to play music together and he would love that you can play instruments as well. He would definitely love to cuddle you and sleepy cuddles while watching movies would def be a thing for you guys. I now totally ship this. Hope you liked it! ❤

Hello! 💕 can I have a marvel ship please? I’m a bi girl. Name is Jenna. Introvert. Sarcastic. Childish. Dirty sense of humor. A bit antisocial. Gryffindor. Over emotional. Kind hearted. Stubborn af. Easily jealous. Hates PDA. Loves animals, especially dogs. Hobbies are piano, archery, and cooking. Sings a lot. Would probably be an awful fighter but would be determined to improve. I also don’t think I want kids. Thank you!! :)
Omg yes you can! So I actually have two for you because I really couldn’t choose! I’m thinking Peter Quill aka Starlord or Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlett Witch. I feel like your personality with the sarcasm and all would really match with both of them since their witty. These two are also really fiery characters that I think would match well with you! Both of them would also definitely be into helping you learn to fight! While Peter would definitely play along with your childishness, Wanda would me the mature one of you two. You and Wanda would balance each other out when it came to that, you being fun when she’s too serious and vice versa. You could also cook with Wanda 😉 Hope you enjoyed this!

Coffee Cups (A.I.)
Hey guys! I just had this idea and I’m excited to see how it will develop! I’m not sure if I will continue or not, so let me know what you guys think! Requests are open by the way!
word count: 1334
The crumpled, old newspaper tumbled across the busy city sidewalk. The bitter cold caused you to tighten the grip on your thin jacket that was not nearly thick enough. Your mother's warning to wear a coat replayed through your mind as you continued to walk hoping it would warm you up some. As always, your rebellious spirit had gotten the best of you and you were now chilled to the bone by the gusts of icy wind.
You moved to sit on an ice-cold metal bench that didn't help at all at warming you. Your dark locks whipped around your pale face as patches of red covered your cheeks. Your lips were becoming almost as white as the snow that had just started falling around you. Another clothed body sat on the other side of the bench leaving a generous amount of space between the pair of you. Your eyes were locked on the man with a black coat shielding his body and a hood over his head concealing his face. His hands were shoved deep into his pockets and his leg shook as he tapped his foot against the white-dusted concrete.
As you tore your eyes away from the man, his curious gaze fell on you. Your body was visibly frozen as violent shivers ran through your veins. Your hands were tightly wound together and placed between your legs to try to warm them. Your jacket was as tight as it could possibly get to your body with the zipper all the way up to your neck. A few snowflakes decorated your hair before slowly fading away into water. Your legs mimicked his own expect they weren't shaking out of anticipation but in an effort to warm you.
The man sighed slightly before discarding the heavy coat he was wearing and extending it to you. Your head turned once again at the slight nudge and your eyes fell back on the man. They were a warm hazel color with specks of green. A small closed-mouth smile was on his lips as he nudged you with the coat once more. You reached out gripping the black fabric with your hand bringing it to your body. You quickly wrapped the large coat around your shoulders and the instant warmth melted the ice in your veins. You didn't see it, of course, but that small smile that the man held had grown much larger.
A few moments had passed with the both of you sitting and stealing glances as the snow started to fall more heavily. The bus that you had been waiting on seemed like it was never going to come and the truth was it wasn't ever going to. One by one people walked away from the bus station seeking shelter and warmth away from the bitter cold. Your eyes landed on the man for the fifth time that evening, but your heart leaped when his gaze was already on you. He stood abruptly without taking his eyes off of you and extended a strong hand to you. You looked up at the stranger and were a little hesitant about his offer. After all, you had just met this man and not spoken a word besides a whispered thank-you. Without another second of contemplation, you placed your now slightly warm hand into the stranger's waiting one.
You had rounded the corner to see that the man had led you to a small coffee shop. To your disappointment, his hand had dropped yours as you entered the brick building. The strong scent of coffee came over your senses and you welcomed it with a smile. The stranger offered to get you both a cup and that you could go get a table. You nodded and scoured the place for an open table in the crowded atmosphere. It seemed like everyone had the same idea to escape the now pouring snow and biting wind. You finally came across a table pushed against the wall with two seats. You took one of the two wooden chairs and slid the heavy coat from your shoulders. You turned your gaze to look out the window that took up most of the brick wall. Snow piled up on the window sill and you were grateful to be within the warm walls.
Within moments the man approached the table with one cup of steaming coffee in each hand. He placed one in front of you and you smiled gratefully at him. He took the vacant seat across from you and he too shrugged his outerwear off and onto the back of his chair. With his less dense jacket now off, it revealed a reddish button up with the sleeves slightly pushed up his toned arms. You noticed a bit of black ink decorating his wrist and finally made it out to be a small heart. A few rings adorned his fingers and a chain of silver was hung around his neck. The necklace disappeared into his shirt that had the top few buttons undone to reveal more of his slightly tan skin. You finally bring your eyes back up to his face where you notice his slightly curly dirty blonde locks.
Your eyes are brought to his lips when you notice a small smirk pull on them. A rush of heat comes to your cheeks as you tear your gaze away from the handsome stranger and force yourself to look at your coffee cup. You know his hazel eyes with specks of gold are on you but you can't bring yourself to look at him again. Little did you know that while you were studying his features, he was doing the same to you.
It was only when he spoke that you managed to muster up the courage to look at him again. He started to make small talk about the weather and where he had been planning on taking the bus. You noticed how he seemed to make every mundane topic extremely interesting. You had even taken part in the conversation in contrast to your introvertive behavior. Laughter fell from both of your lips as you started to become more comfortable with each other. The hours that passed felt like only minutes as you two talked about anything and everything. People came and went but the two of you stayed the same even when your coffee cups held nothing but drops left.
You glanced down at your watch at one point to see that it was terribly late and that your mother would have a fit if you didn't come home soon. A frown took over the stranger's features at your statement but none the less, you both stood to leave. You thanked him for everything, the coat, the coffee, and most of all, his company. He simply brushed all this off as anybody would have done it, but you knew deep down that nobody else would have treated you as kindly. You held out the black coat to the rightful owner, but he insisted you keep it for the walk home. After all, he had to have an excuse to see you again.
You both exited the shop with the man holding the door open for you. He pulled the hood over his hair once again and you shoved your hands into the deep pockets of the coat. The street lamps now lit the scene and the snow glittered beneath them. He walked with you until you were both back at the bench where you had met. You smiled at each other with your minds racing. As you started to go your separate ways, you turned sharp on your heel and called out to the man. He quickly turned around with a face of concern that soon faded when he saw it was still you. The question that had made you stop tumbled past your lips without any hesitation. The man smiled a bit, looked down at his shoes covered in flakes, and then back to you.
"My name's Ashton."

Just Friends (Young!Sirius Black)
So I have some strong feelings towards young!Sirius Black and the marauders' era. This wasn’t requested unless me requesting it counts. This is just a one shot.
word count: 1201
"Sod off, James." You say with a roll of your y/e/c eyes.
"Oh c'mon y/n." James replies not even looking at you. "Just friends don't look at each other like that."
You scoff at his remark even though it gets you thinking. Was James right?
"Remus." You whine. He was the one you trusted the most out of the group of boys.
"Y/N." He responds by mocking your tone.
"Do you agree with James?" You question as the three of you continue down the corridor towards the dining hall.
"You want my honest opinion?" Remus asks looking over at you.
"No, she wants you to lie to her." James interrupts looking across you at Remus.
"Shut up." You groan with a slap to his chest. Remus raises his eyebrows to you as if James hadn't said anything at all.
"The truth." You sigh.
"I agree with James."
"Remus! Why?" Your voice was louder than you intended as several heads turned towards the group. A light blush comes across your cheeks at the attention.
"Y/N you know why, you just won't admit it." Remus says those words like he's said them a thousand times.
You pout as you all take your places at the Gryffindor table. James makes sure to leave a seat next to him open so Sirius could join them. And of course, he made sure it would be across from you.
You definitely wouldn't admit it, but you liked the idea of you and Sirius.
"Nice of you to join us, Pads." You say with a slight smirk.
"I'm a busy guy, love." He replies matching your smirk. James and Remus share a look.
"So, what are we doing tonight?" James asks before shoveling a fork full for food into his mouth.
"I've got a bottle of firewhiskey dying to be drunk." You could barely make out his words through his mouthful of bread.
"It's Thursday night." Remus brings up.
"So? We don't have class until 10 tomorrow." James points out. You all nod at his words.
"Well, I'm definitely up for getting wasted. My potions class was a living hell." You say looking around at your friends.
"Then's settled." Sirius grins at you and once again Remus and James glance at each other.
...
"One more." Remus states. He was always like a fatherly figure to the rest of you. "Then we need to go up to our dorms if we have any chance of making our classes tomorrow."
"Oi, lighten up, Moony." Sirius scoffs at his friend. He passes the bottle to James who takes a sip. James then passes it to Remus who does the same before passing it to you. You prepare yourself for the burn in your throat but it never comes. Sirius had jerked the bottle from your hand.
"Hey!" You whine trying to reach over him for the bottle.
He chuckles at your drunken attempt. "You've had enough, love." You jut your bottom lip out and cross your arms.
"And with that, I'm out. See you guys tomorrow." Remus says as he stands and slightly stumbles towards the boys' dormitory. He makes it to the steps before glancing back at James.
"C'mon James." Remus calls with an overexaggerated motion of his arm.
"I'm good." James replies leaning his back against one of the couches. Remus mutters something before walking back over and jerking James off the floor.
"G'night guys." James waves. You giggle and wave back blowing a kiss to your two best friends.
Sirius takes another sip from the bottle raising his eyebrows at you when he realizes your looking at him.
"What?" He laughs when he takes the bottle away from his lips. The lips that you so desperately wanted on your own.
"Nothing. You're just so pretty." You hiccup poking his cheek with your finger. His smile broadens.
"C'mere love." He opens his strong arms and you waste no time putting yourself in them. You're now in his lap and your heart beats like crazy. You feel his large hands spread across your back holding you in place.
"If anyone in here is pretty, it's you." He whispers into your ear. His hot breath drove you mad. You cover your burning face with your hands.
"Ey, don't hide from me." Sirius removes your hands with your own and you're met with his beautiful smile. He brushes his thumb against your cheek before running it across your bottom lip. Your lips part slightly and his smile is replaced by a look of concentration as if he was trying to memorize every feature of your face. You notice him leaning in, or were you the one leaning? You weren't very sure because all of your focus was on the hazel eyes in front of you. You could feel his breath on your lips. This causes your eyes to flutter closed before the moment you had been waiting for all night finally happened.
Sirus' thumb was replaced by his gentle lips. Your hands were now around his neck as you try to get even closer to the boy. His tongue runs over your bottom lip just as his thumb had done before. You part your lips slightly pulling a bit of hair at the nape of his neck.
"Y/N." He sighs against your lips. You move closer again until your chests are touching. Sirius' hands slide from your face to your waist gripping it tightly. It was almost like he was afraid you would vanish if he let go.
He breaks the kiss and starts to sponge wet kisses down your jaw towards your neck.
"Sirius." You moan as he begins to lightly nibble under your ear. He licks over the spot and blows cool air over his mark. You involuntarily grind your hips down into his causing a moan to escape his lips. You move your hips again hoping to get the same reaction but his big hands stop you.
"Love, as much as I want to, and I really do, you're completely drunk." His hands still hold you in place straddling his lap.
"Do you wanna leave?" You ask quietly afraid of his answer.
"Now, why would I wanna leave my sweet girl?" His answer brings a smile to your features and this, in turn, causes him to smile. Sirius lifts you off his lap and stands up.
"But, I thought you weren't leaving?" You ask still on the floor.
"'S not leaving if I take you with me." He says with an extended hand. Your small hand wraps around his as he helps you up and leads you towards his dormitory.
Needless to say, Remus and James were through the roof when they found you and Sirius cuddling in his bed the next morning.

Blind Date (H.S.) Part Five
Here we go, the last part! I hope you guys enjoyed this short little story! There will be more to come! Requests are open so don’t be afraid to message me!
word count: 1180
Part One Part Two Part Three Part Four
"What do you mean?" I ask very confused. Who says they're looking for a dog and then doesn't even own one?
"Listen, I have a lot to explain, I know that." He says and the fingers around my wrist tighten a little. "Just, can we not do it in the middle of a road?" He asks and a small laugh escapes my mouth. We probably do look pretty ridiculous. I look up at his eyes and notice how a slight smile is now tugging at his lips.
"Sure." I sigh and I let him lead me down the road once again.
....
"So wait, Y/F/N put you up to this?" I ask incredulously. I lean over the table slightly waiting for Harry to continue his story. He copies my actions removing his back from the red cushion of the booth we were sat in.
"Yes, kind of." He says with a laugh realizing how confusing the story must sound. "Let's just say she's the one who gave me your address and told me that you were home with no plans."
"Of course, she did. I should've known she was involved somehow." I laugh. "So who came up with the lost dog bit?"
"Oh, that was totally me." He says with a bit of pride in his voice.
"And what, you just hoped I would help you find your "lost" dog?" I ask.
"Yeah, that was basically the plan. It doesn't sound as good now that you put it that way." He adds thoughtfully. I shake my head at him not believing what he was telling me. He is one of the goofiest people I have ever met.
"Well, I guess it's good that it worked." I reply. "But what about when we never found your dog?"
"I was just going to say that we should take a break and end up here like we are now." He states and leans back as he gestures to the cute little cafe.
"Clever." I nod leaning back against the cushion and crossing my arms over my chest. We sit in silence for a little bit, but it's comfortable. I glance at my phone to see that it's now 10 pm.
"So, what now?" I ask hoping that we wouldn't have to end our night just yet. He glances at the time as well and then starts to stand. I look up at him and he offers his hand to me. I take it and stand as well excited for what our night has in store.
We exit the cafe and make our way towards Harry's car that I found out he had parked on the side of the road near my neighborhood while we were searching for his "dog". He starts to drive and I notice that we are taking roads leading to my house. My heart drops a little at the thought of going home so soon. He surprises me though when he takes an unexpected turn.
"Where are we going?" I ask looking over at him confused.
"You'll see." He smirks. I lean into the center console and rest my arm against it. I hum along with the quiet radio before I feel his warm hand take mine and intertwine our fingers. My heart soars and my smile is impossible to stop as it takes over all features of my face. I don't look over at him, but I can tell those green eyes are on me.
We pull up to what I identify at the park. Harry sadly removes his hand from mine as we both start to get out. I open the door before it's pushed closes again by Harry.
"You're supposed to wait for me to open it." He says and I roll my eyes but not in an annoyed way at all. I take my hand off of the door handle as I wait for Harry to open it for me.
"Are you going to open it any time today?" I ask from inside the car. He laughs before pulling the door open and letting me out.
"You're welcome." He says as he closes the door and I laugh.
"Thanks." He nods at my words and once again grabs my hand and interlaces our fingers. He leads me through the now quiet and moonlit park towards a bench. We both sit on the bench under the blanketed sky.
"You know, I'm really glad Y/F/N called me that day." Harry states out of the blue. I turn to face him but don't reply.
"To be honest, I'm not really into the whole blind date thing, and I almost said no when she asked." He says taking his eyes off of the sky and placing them on me instead. He smiles slightly and continues to speak.
"I'm really glad I didn't. You're even more beautiful than she described and even more than that, you're so fun to be around." I shake my head slightly and cast my eyes down to look at my legs.
He laughs a little at my reaction to his words. "I'm serious, Y/N! I wouldn't want anyone else helping me look for my imaginary lost dog."
It goes quiet and I can tell that those green eyes are still looking at me. I don't know if he's waiting on me to talk, but I take a breath and look up at him anyways.
"Yeah, I'm not really into the blind dates either." A breathy laugh follows my words. "Y/F/N sets me up all the time and I was getting tired of it. Especially after I went out with you."
Harry's eyes light up a little after I finish my sentence. I notice that we somehow had moved even closer over the span of time we had been sitting talking. Our legs were now touching and our intertwined hands were set in Harry's lap.
"Well, I feel honored that I was your last blind date." He says cheekily and we both laugh.
Once again the familiar silence falls over us just as the blanket of blue and stars had fallen over the sky. His eyes flick from my Y/E/C to my lips and his pale pink ones part slightly. He starts to lean in a bit and I can start to feel his hot breaths on my face in contrast to the cool night air. I move to close the space and press my lips against his.
He almost seems a little taken back when I'm the one who makes the move, but he quickly recovers and moves his against my own. He disconnects our hands to put one on my face and one on my waist. I move both of mine to wrap around his neck and my fingers thread themselves into his curly hair. We pull apart all too soon and I immediately miss the contact when his lips leave mine. We remain close with our hands in the same position. An inevitable smile is apparent on both of our faces as our eyes stay locked on eachother's. Y/F/N was right, it was fate.

Part One Part Two Part Three Part Five
We set off down the road of my neighborhood with our feet hitting the pavement being the only sound. The sun was starting to descend and the night was slowly taking over the sky with a dark blue. Orange and pink hues painted the sky where the sun was going down.
"So," I say breaking the silence. "What does your dog look like?" It seemed like a valid question and I couldn't take much more of the silence between us.
"Oh, um, you know pretty average size, brown fur, floppy ears." Harry answers describing the dog.
"Is it a lab?" I ask trying to get a better visual.
"Uh, yeah, a lab." He replies. I nod my head and look around hoping to see a glimpse of the brown fur that Harry had described. As I'm looking at each yard we pass, I notice his eyes on me. I get the courage to glance over at him instantly regretting it as his appearance makes my breath hitch. I cast my eyes back down towards the pavement.
"Thanks." His deep voice says. I look back over at him a little taken back.
"No problem." I reply flicking my gaze over at him again. His pale pink lips form a small smile.
"So, are you just going to pretend to not have met me before?" He questions now looking out across the road and yards.
"Excuse me?" I ask a little caught off guard at his question. He's acting the same way as I am.
"Yeah, you're acting like you've never seen me before." He goes on. "Like we never went out on a date."
"Well," my sentence is cut short as I search for the right words. "You're the one acting like you didn't want to see me again." I say finally.
Now it's his turn to look a little taken aback.
"Who said that?" He asks with his eyes back on me. His dark eyebrows are knit in confusion.
"You didn't have to say it." I mumble.
"Do you really think that I never wanted to see you again?" He asks stopping in his tracks. We've made our way to some of the more main roads that connect to mine. I copy his actions and stop.
"Well, yeah." I answer crossing my arms over my chest. "You never asked to see me again or asked for my number."
"Shit." He mumbles looking away and at the few cars traveling down the road. "I thought Y/F/N would've given you my number." His eyes return to mine.
"Oh, no she didn't. I figured you didn't want me to have it." His lips are taken over in a frown.
"Of course I wanted you to have my number." He says. My heart soars a little at the news.
"Oh." Is all I manage to say. I break the eye contact and find myself looking back down at my feet for what felt like the hundredth time tonight.
"Here." I look up to see him handing me his phone with a new contact open. My lip twitches up a little as I type in my name and number before handing it back to him. Our fingers brush together a little and a heat rushes to my cheeks. Suddenly I hear a dog barking and my head jerks up.
"That must be your dog!" I exclaim. Harry looks a little confused as I rush off down the road towards the barking. I turn the corner to see a dark-colored lab in someone's yard barking at a cat in the window.
"Here he is!" I call over my shoulder. Harry catches up with me as I start to call out to the dog.
"What's its name?" I ask still clicking my tongue together and snapping my fingers at the dog.
"Uh, Wendy." Harry says, but his voice sounds a little unsure.
"C'mere Wendy!" I call snapping my fingers. The dog doesn't budge as it continues to focus on the cat. I start to whistle at it and she finally turns to face me.
"Hey, sweet girl." I say reaching my hand out. The dog approaches me and lets me pet her. Harry is now standing over us as I kneel and pet Wendy.
Suddenly the door to the house is ripped open revealing an older man.
"Hey! What are you doing on my lawn?" The man calls out to us.
"Sorry!" I call back. "We'll just take our dog and go." I grab Wendy by the collar to help pull her off of the lawn.
"Your dog? That's mine! Get out of here!" He starts to make his way off his porch and I feel Harry grab my wrist pulling me away from the lawn, man, and dog.
"Harry, what are you doing?" I whisper-shout. "Isn't that your dog?"
"Uh, about that." He whispers back and waits until we're headed back down the road away from the house.
"What do you mean?" I question now that we're alone again.
"Well, that's not my dog." He says scratching the back of his neck. This time he's the one with a downcast gaze.
"Ok, well we'll just keep looking." I reply starting to walk again. His hand wraps around my wrist again pulling me to a stop.
"We're not gonna find my dog Y/N." Harry says. I notice his hand is still wrapped around my wrist and a slight blush comes over my cheeks.
"That's not a good attitude to have." I reply.
"No." He sighs. "We're not gonna find my dog because I didn't lose a dog. Hell, I don't even own a dog."
