Fandom Problem #4864:

I can't believe this needs to be said, but just because bad things happen to a fictional character that doesn't automatically mean that the writers enjoy torturing them for their own sick pleasure/condone abuse/hate the character.

And I'm not just talking about fanfiction, a lot of people think like this about the original source material too. Things happening to the character is usually for the story, and sometimes it's for the joke (with the latter you have to take into account what kind of show you're watching), and there are cases when it's supposed to make you feel bad.

It's okay to not feel comfortable with it, but the writers don't owe you. They don't have to cater to your preferences.

reminder to worldbuilders: don't get caught up in things that aren't important to the story you're writing, like plot and characters! instead, try to focus on what readers actually care about: detailed plate tectonics

Fandom Problem #4842:

I constantly see people complain about this show being "incestuous" when that's literally not what's happening. I'm not even being purposefully blind to subtext here, there literally just isn't any. The protagonist has a younger sister. That's it.

The only subtext that's going on, as far as I can see, is that this show had the gall to be made in Japan, and people really love insinuating that Japanese people are perverts. I sure wonder why.
