My biggest pet peeve with the way people mischaracterize characters that doesn’t include any problematic behaviors is when people take purely kind/good characters and turn them into assholes for no apparent reason. Like, no, stop, Pure Vanilla and Steven Universe would not act like that. That’s motherfucking COOKIE JESUS AND THE MOST PACIFISTIC PERSON ON PLANET EARTH, they would not act like assholes

“But what about Truthless Recluse?” “What about buff Steven in Steven Universe Future?” Pure Vanilla was being mentally tormented and manipulated by Shadow Milk and his spire and Steven was dealing with a metric fuck ton of unresolved and untreated trauma that he gained AS A 13-14 YEAR OLD CHILD, of course they’re gonna act a little out of character and a little bit of an asshole to other people, because they’re going through a bunch of shit that's messing with them mentally. No normal person would be able to be kind 24/7 when dealing with untreated trauma or being mentally tormented

Soos and the Real Girl is one of my favorite Gravity Falls, it’s really fun and I love all the pixel art in it (not to mention the fact that it basically predicted DDLC and technically also FNaF). The only thing that pisses me off about this episode is how Dipper is skeptical about Giffany stalking Soos at HooHa Owl’s. Like, my guy, you’ve literally came face to face with fucking dinosaurs and shit. Not to mention the fact that you literally brought a video game character to life before. Why is it so difficult for you to believe that your friend is being stalked by a video game character???

I will forever glaze Gravity Falls as the best cartoon of the 2010’s. That shit is a fucking modern masterpiece. I could talk on for hours about all the symbolism and imagery and foreshadowing and just every single element that builds on top of one another to make a practically perfect show. Just remembered this one bad take that was posted to an anonymous Sanders Sides confession account on Instagram that basically boiled down to Thomas should have Remus say racist and homophobic things because he's intrusive thoughts and I died inside a little

I have never seen someone misunderstand a character more in my entire life than I had when first reading that confession

Edit before posting: Threw this in the drafts to see if I could refind find this confession. Refound the account and holy shit, half of these Remus confessors on this old confession account do not fucking understand Remus at all. "Remus is evil, he doesn't care about Thomas! He's mean! He doesn't deserve redemption!" HOLY FUCKING SHIT, SHUT THE HELL UP-

I have not seen so many people misunderstand and mischaracterize a character so badly in my life. Remus is not evil, and he does care about Thomas, he just has a different way of showing that because he doesn't follow social norms because darker creativity and intrusive thoughts don't follow social norms either. Honestly, I kinda hope that when the Remus and Janus YouTooz plushies drop we get a promo video that's similar to the one that we got for the other plushies where it's a mini episode with just Remus and Janus interacting with C!Thomas. I know that it's pretty unlikely since Janus and Remus's makeup is pretty complex and the team is already working on one Sanders Sides episode, so they probably don't want more stress on top of that, but I think having a mini episode with just Remus and Janus would be cool
