I Can Do it With a Broken Heart is for the time I was up all night at a mental hospital bc I was on s**cide watch after finding out that some of the guys in my med school class were talking about how they want to punch me and beat me up, and then I got discharged at 7am and went straight to campus and took an exam and passed it but a lot of those same guys who had been threatening violence against me didn’t pass it.👌🏻
I can do it with a broken heart, and you can’t even do it from your throne in your palace of bones.

The absolute worse thing about suffering from paranoia is that you have paranoia about literally EVERYTHING, and then of course that means that every once in a while one of the the things you were paranoid about turns out to be true, and then that just convinces you that that absolutely everything you are paranoid about is true.
Because if you were right that the one checker at the grocery store doesn’t really like you and has said things to her coworkers about you, then who’s to say that you’re not right about how all your friends secretly hate you and all your coworkers have a secret group chat where they talk about you all day and everyone on the bus finds you annoying and your husband is going to leave you.

showering:
pros: you get to feel clean. you get non greasy hair, non oily feeling skin, it just in general makes you feel better, more energised, refreshed.
cons: there are so many steps. oh my god are there so many steps. before getting into the shower there are steps. during the shower there are steps. and once youve gotten out of the shower? guess what!!! more fucking steps!!!!!!!! UGHHHH

I think that really highlights the heart of the issue is that they see themselves as battling against autism without realizing that that really means they are battling against their child.
i honestly forget that autism mums say 'autism won today' to mean like their kid had a meltdown and that they are ableist. like nooo autism win means something like i found something cool out about my special interest or i managed to avoid a meltdown or i got to infodump!!!!! autism win is good!!!!!!

I interpreted it as even more general than that and about how women in general are just used up and bled dry in every single industry and walk of life. Life as a woman sometimes feels like you’re just biding your time until people get bored of you and turn on you to welcome someone newer and younger and better into their good graces.
So yeah I fully agree with your hot take it’s about any specific person.
HOT TAKE ALERT🚨
I don’t think the ending of Clara Bow is about anyone specific. I don’t think it’s about Sabrina Carpenter or Olivia Rodrigo.
I think it’s just a generalization of up and coming young women in the music industry. I think it’s about any young girl who might be the next “it girl” of the music world.
I don’t think Taylor intended it to be about any one specific person.

She truly is just a blank slate for girls to project their own personality onto. And for the record, I don’t think that’s a good thing, BUT it is definitely not the only case or even the worse case of a popular female main character just being a blank slate, and there are a lot of worse cases that don’t get nearly as much hate (or even sometimes get praise).
so much of twilight is bella purposefully "killing time." no friends, no particular interests, no hobbies... allegedly she's a book girl but like. other than wuthering heights and maybe shakespeare she never references anything. she's not particularly well spoken or ingenious. she doesn't seem to think much about the future nor the past. edward wanted to read her thoughts but if he'd tuned in it'd just be like [elevator music]. for the record this is the opposite of a negative post i would not change a single thing about her. girl you didn't need a freak boyfriend you needed 40 mg of prozac twice daily

Shrug. This has probably been said before and better but I think in a lot of ways women are still going through witch trials. (e.g. if she lives shes evil if she dies shes innocent) If a woman dies she was a real abuse victim, if she lived she lied about it. If a woman kills herself she was in real pain, if she gets over it it was just a cry for attention.

Apologies for getting serious:
When I was growing up, a teenage girl in my hometown drank too much at a party, passed out, her friends threw her in the shower and turned it on to “sober her up” and she drowned.
That only works in fiction. Pretty much ALL of the things that you think will “sober you up” only work in fiction, and many of them could actually kill someone.
The only thing that actually sobers a person is time, and if a person drinks to the point that they are non-responsive (not responding to sound or touch at all) then they need to go to the hospital.
Things that work in fiction but not real life
torture getting reliable information out of people
knocking someone out to harmlessly incapacitate them for like an hour
jumping into water from staggering heights and surviving the fall completely intact
calling the police to deescalate a situation
rafting your way off a desert island
correctly profiling total strangers based on vibes
effectively operating every computer by typing and nothing else
ripping an IV out of your arm without consequences
heterosexual cowboy

It has been proven through evidence-based medicine that everyone receives better quality medical care if we just approach each individual as a person rather than as a man or a woman. Argue with the wall.

this is a way better model... you'll still get transphobic & intersexist drs of course but i prefer this to male / female or even having separate questions for gender & sex.
[we can't see the full form, but i'd suggest having a "something else" option and dominant hormone question too.]

If you really want to get more specific about a particular employee, just say that they were very professional. Employers just fucking love that, they eat that shit up like catnip.
If a worker who isn't the owner says ANYTHING similar to "I'm not really supposed to do this but-" and then does something that helps you, under no circumstances inform the business, including through reviews. You tell them that the worker was polite, professional, the very model of customer service and why you like to go there. You do not breathe a word of the rulebreaking.

Clara Bow is about the realization that all women come to at some point in their life: that it doesn’t matter who you are, where you are, when you are, what you do, the world is just going to bleed you dry and then get bored of you and move on to something younger and better and more exciting. It has been this way long before you and it will continue to be this way long after you, and that realization is soul-crushing, dehumanizing, demotivating, and more than anything, painfully familiar to the female experience.
The fact that there are actually people just taking the most absolutely shallow interpretation of “omg she’s singing about girls, totally lezzzbian you guys, there is no straight interpretation of this” kinda makes me want to stick my head in a microwave, like I don’t want to poke the bear that is g4ylors, y’all do you and I’m not coming for you in general here, I get that sometimes you read into things the way you want to read into them, but I just genuinely don’t understand how you can miss the point THAT much.
