I know it makes you anxious when I say we need to talk about something important

Covid was 5 years ago i heard someone say

And damn i was 14 and now I'm 19

Valentines day #2

My dear love,

We recently had our first anniversary and now the time for our second valentines day is upon us. Our first one was so awkward. We did it late cause we both worked on the actual day. We'd only been together a month. I hadn't even been in your house. Or met your mom. I had a doctors appointment before and due to it my nose bled almost the whole date. But despite it we spent hours together. We went on a drive to prolong it even. I got you a hoodie (I still havnt see You wear) you got me a flower bear it's so cute it sits in my armoure. This year will be different. You work that day. I will spend all day driving to you more so to comfort you for your loss. There won't be any awkwardness. We will say I love you. A phrase I associate with you. Your strong arms will caress me and I will hold your face. I will send you silly valentines cards. And a gift more fitting for you I hope you like it. I'm excited for our second valentines.

ALL ABOUT LEATHER TANNING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Tanning is very important part in the production of leather. It is one of the steps for converting animal hide into leather fabric. Tanning is used to make the animal hide suitable for converting them into clothing items. It makes it prevent from decaying and any change in the quality of animal hide. It helps in preserving the natural texture and patterns of animal hide. There are variety of leather tanning process available used for various reasons. In short, tanning process makes leather durable. Each type of tanning process gives rise to a different leather with varying properties. Here, we will learn more about tanning process of leather and how it affects the leather material.

Tanning make leather suitable to be turned into items of clothing, accessories, furniture, upholstery, etc. before the procedure of tanning is executed, the animal hide must be free from fat, flesh and hairs.  Making hide, clean and flat is an important step in the procedure of tanning. The hide is then treated with tanning agents to turn it into usable leather. After being tanned, the hide becomes mostly resistant to moisture, microorganisms, and chemicals.

Leather tanning prevents the animal skin from decay, giving it finest pliability and durability. Moreover, the leather tanning process makes the leather fabric amazingly resilient to abrasion and punitive elements, such as chemicals and heat. It is crucial to produce suitable leather for eminent goods that will last for years. It retains the moisture and flexibility of the hide, protecting it from dehydration. So, here we can say that it prevents leather from any danger and also gives it its characteristic features.

The tanning process includes various steps and chemical treatments that turn raw hides into strong leather. The period, use of tannin, and methods differ for each type of leather tanning. People have been tanning leather since many centuries but with increasing technologies, the quality of tanning has greatly improved. Use of high end technology decreases the time and labor that was earlier required for tanning.

Before using a piece of leather for tanning, there are some preparations we need to do. The most obvious preparation is to get rid of any contaminants, such as blood, fat, hair, etc. from the animal skin before it can be tanned. Before tanning, hides go through numerous processes. The first is curing, which preserves the hide and pauses the decomposition. Dry or wet salting, freezing, or sun drying methods can be used to preserve the hide. After preserving, washing, soaking, liming, fleshing, and removal of hair are further steps in preparation for tanning process.

BATING: Firstly, Animal hides are treated with enzymes to soften animal hide and are used to remove dirt and undesirable proteins. This process is commonly known as bating in the leather industry. Bating springs the level of softness and suppleness that you desire to have in leather when you want to use it. 

PICKLING: Pickling makes the fibers of the hides more accessible to tanning. It causes the hide to become more acidic, reaching a pH of 3 and allowing chromium tannin to infiltrate the hide.

TANNING: Finally the actual tanning process is arrived. Tanning includes putting the clean animal skin into pits filled with tanning agents. The two most normally used tanning techniques are vegetable tanning and chrome tanning. Vegetable tanning method is a long process, sometimes taking months to get the preferred type of leather. It is also the oldest tanning procedure done to tan leather. It uses natural components such as tree bark. In contrast to it, chrome tanning is a much quicker way to tan leather, using chromium salts. Substitute tanning methods, such as synthetic tanning, brain tanning, or oil tanning, are also some tanning techniques used for tanning leather.

DRYING: in this step, we are going to dry out all the excess water present in the leather hide. In this step the tanning agent is combined with collagen.

SPLITTING: Now, the hide should be divided into layers of preferred viscosity, it is called as splitting. For different leather goods, different amount of viscosity is required. The split layers can be characterized into the uppermost quality full grain, top grain, or split grain.

RE TANNING: Occasionally, leather makers may need additional round of tanning animal hides. It is called as re-tanning, which gives individual qualities to the material and helps to make it different from others. It could modify or add to the leather's smoothness, plumpness, density, elongation, or color. Stages include neutralization, aniline dyeing, and tanning, softening, freshening, and polishing.

FINISHING: The final step in tanning of leather is finishing, giving leather the preferred texture and look. After finishing the leather, it is ready to use. There are numerous leather finishing methods, including aniline, semi-aniline, dry milling, or burnishing. It can also be coated with resin, providing a sleek patent leather finish. Embossing the unfinished leather is possible as well.
