A Reminder to Radblr:

Two of my radblr mutuals died this year, while I know that knowing someone online isn't the same as knowing someone personally, it's a shame that a lot of brilliant women went before they had to. Their absences are still felt, even by a virtual stranger.

I still remember the first real feminist account I followed that got me out of GC/libfem spaces, and even small posts online can impact lives for the better, as corny as that sounds.

I want all of those I follow on here to remember to take care of their health, especially their chronic illnesses. Whether that be mental health issues, diabetes, chronic pain, endometriosis or vision issues.

Gyns, please also invest in self-defence measures. Guns are obvious, but don't discount strength training, martial arts like bjj, running and bear mace. Live a 4B/separatist lifestyle to the best of your ability and take periodic breaks from IRL activism and volunteering if you participate.

Misogyny affects healthcare immensely. I want women to fight for their issues to be taken seriously. Don't be a martyr to female socialization. Ask for second opinions, insist on your pain and symptoms if they impact your life enough to be noticed.

Most of all, this is a crucial time to start creating a close-knit circle of women friends for your own safety and sanity, especially with increasing male depravity and unstable, repressed men. While it's tempting to be alone, especially if you have misanthropic tendencies, no one survives in society without occasionally relying on someone else.

I'm sure most know that most violence and SA against women is committed by a close friend, boyfriend, husband or brother.

There's more safety in numbers, and the only real protector of women is other women.
