So where are the Food Witches?
I know none of you probably missed me, since none of you exist, but I figured I'd make another post.
Ultimately, I have everything I need right now. Characters, personality, quite a large amount of story, dynamics, inspirations...
I have everything except the art. I refuse to use AI art, and none of my friends are invested enough in the project or confidant enough in their own skill to be ready to work on such a long term project.
A summary of the concept for people is this: A YA magical girl action series with both drama and comedy where every single mage or spellcaster has a ‘food’ that embodies their magic. The magic is sometimes literal (hurling constructs in the shape of the food) and sometimes symbolic (powers representing the flavor, spiritual meanings, etc.). Following a class of magic students in their new school, the webcomic would follow several arcs against various antagonists with an emphasis on the slice of life in between. The webcomic is heavily inspired by the likes of The Owl House, Little Witch Academia, Brand New Animal, the original Digimon Adventure anime, and even a bit of Chikn Nuggit. It also features a heavy queer main cast, and some long term plot twists and future representation.
I am looking for artists who like this project and feel a passion for it, who want to be a part of something that I hope to be quite successful, and who are alright with not being paid, because I have no income and am trying to get my first job as I type this post. And while life always comes first, you would have to be expected to be able to put time into the project, or else nothing would ever be made. If you don't believe you could be able to make regular pages (a schedule can be discussed between us), then even if you like the project, it probably isn't for you.
Should the comic become successful, a Patreon or other such donation system will be created, and the artist/s would receive 50% of the cut, but that is not something that can be promised.
I understand that this is likely not something that many, if any, people are willing to take a risk on, but I ask you to read through the few posts on this blog and see if you are interested by what I have to offer, before DMing me about further questions. I will try to answer as fast as possible.
And don't bother trying to creep on me, this isn't my first rodeo. I want actual applicants, not scammers.
Even if you aren't personally interested, please reblog with the huge pile of added tags so that potentially someone who IS interested will see. For a project like this, having multiple artists could be especially good, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth if even just one person is convinced.

Some ideas for egg magic uses
Egg bazooka that can fire eggs with a variety of properties, such as exploding, hatching, or shooting supersized eggs.
Armor made of nigh-indestructible eggshells
Hatching magical chicken-like constructs out of the eggs
Storing items, people, or even locations inside of eggs that get shrunken down and stored somewhere
Blocking attacks by absorbing them into the egg containers, and releasing the attacks against people
Using a wave of yolk the same way waterbenders use their abilities, forming weapons, mobility tools and shields, etc.
Resurrecting using the power of hatching from their own eggs
A lot of these are incredibly OP, due to the Food Witch's starting concept being a lot more comedic, but the concepts are all still intended to be used eventually.

The Antagonists
Every hero needs a villain, and this series has a few of them! There's a lot of story that can't be explained for spoilers, but I can still elaborate on who these antagonists we're facing will be like!
The story would follow several arcs with different primary and secondary antagonists being involved depending on the situation.
Here is the current roster of villains/antagonists:
Hettie Heatbringer - Hettie is a Spicy Pepper witch, and she uses pyrokinesis, explosion based attacks, and using the energizing/toxic effects of capsaicin to power up or poison people. She's a scarf wearing egotist with a tendency to get extremely possessive over anybody she considers "hers" (even "her" enemies)
Harriet - Harriet is a Salt witch, and very much a minor antagonist. She isn't evil, but she acts as a rival character to the coven during School activities. She always has something to be salty about, and especially serves as a counterpoint to Abby, seeing Abby's shyness as weak and innefiecent, and Harriet HATES inneficiency.
Sebastion - Sebastion is an Onion witch that uses his magic to manipulate emotions, causing people to be filled with sorrow or nihilism, and also to physically control tears as weapons (Kinda Binding of Isaac style). He isn't outright malicious, like Harriet, but he's a nihilist who doesn't beleive that people can truly grow or change, and would much rather people give up, to the point that he will go out of his way to put people down for trying to grow. He's in the same coven as Harriet, and the two of them serve as the "lesser" rivals, the ones who aren't ending the world, but aren't exactly likeable.
Delilah - Delilah is a Pomegranate witch that uses her pomegranate seeds to take over the minds of others, her powers in reference to the Greek myth, where Persephone is able to be held captive by Hades because she ate a few Pomegranate seeds. Obviously Persephone wasn't brainwashed as her mind was effectively overwritten and rendered mush, but it's what inspired it. Anybody who eats Delilah's seeds are rendered mindless, and she uses them to run an underground gang with all the people she's kidnapped and basically killed. She doesn't believe anyone except "perfection" should deserve free will. The only "perfect" people she beleives in are herself, the next villain on the list, and her apprentice that she raised from childhood: Hettie.
Verity Suika - Verity is a Honeysuckle witch, and is an invasive species personified. She has mind control powers just like Delilah, but hers are more subtle. She exudes an aura that makes people trust her sweet demeanor, and she gives them nice words and dangerous advice that they slowly start to obey and trust above all else, until she's brainwashed them into servants that think they have free will, but haven't made a descision of their own in years. Verity also runs her own gang, and she and Delilah have been pining for each other for years. If they could just agree on how their relationship works, and fused their gangs, they could take over the world, but neither of them beleive in true free will, and they're such control freaks, that they're stuck in Toxic Yuri forever.
The final current villain is the Big Bad, who's name is a work in progress, but for now I just call him the King. He's a mysterious person who is said to have carved his staff, and therefore carved his very soul, into a food no witch is supposed to be capable of possessing: human flesh. Not much else is known about him, because his minions are trained to kill themselves instead of being captured, and anyone who gets close to uncovering his secrets are eaten alive.

The Main Cast of the Food Witches:
Okay, so, at the School of Culinary and Mystic Arts, Students are placed into coven groups of five, with one mentor.
The coven that our story follows is comprised of:
Nova - The Main Character - Nova is an Egg Witch, and he uses a lot of summoning magic, creating constructs of eggs to use as shields, bomb, hatching magical transparent chick constructs, etc. Nova is pansexual, and he overall is a scatterbrained and sometimes bullheaded individual. He wants to find himself at SCMA, and will overtime learn who he truly is, and how to deal with the consequences it takes to get there.
Abigail "Abby" - Abby is a Tofu witch, and she uses her magic primarily to enhance or overpower others by absorbing their magic and redirecting/repurposing it. Abby is a lesbian, and despite how she has a support role in battles due to her magic, Abby is incredibly shy and needs to learn to work with others and let people into her life before she can achieve her full potential.
"Fritz" (Real name unknown) - Fritz is a Dragonfruit Witch, and he relies almost exclusively on one type of magic: Transforming into a giant dragonfruit dragon. Fritz is energetic, self-destructive, and naive at times due to being the youngest of the main coven, bordering on unstable at times.
Lyra - Lyra is a wheat witch, and uses her magic in a defensive way, using wheat and grain seeds to trap her foes while the rest of the team takes them down, but when things get serious, she can pull out her scythe. She's an asexual country bumpkin who has an Apple witch sister in another coven by the name of Sallie Mae. Lyra grew up along side Sallie and the two were practically joined at the hip. Now, Lyra needs to learn to be independent of her sister as her own person.
Amaros - Amaros is a grape witch whose magic is primarily focused on the alcohol side of things. He is the eldest of the coven members by a decent margin, and is constantly out partying or just getting drunk in the comfort of the coven dorm. This can increase his magical and combative abilities, but in day to day life is more bad than good. His arc will primarily focus on getting to know what has led him to being such a chronic drinker, and whether or not the rest of the coven is a good enough reason to try being better. Amaris is a transmasc somewhere on the queer spectrum, but he doesn't remember most of his nights on the town well enough to have a hardset sexuality.
Annabelle - Annabelle is a Honey Witch, and the mentor of the coven. Due to honey's near inability to spoil, Annabelle has been around for nearly two thousand years, though she spent a lot of that time sleeping. She awoke from her slumber and personally requested the headmaster of SCMA to allow her to be their teacher. She uses her healing, restoration and conjuration magic to assist her students while not fighting their battles for them.

I want to make a webcomic!
Now, I have the story, the characters and the ideas, but not the artistic capacity. I'm also still young enough that I want to continue developing this idea before I go anywhere with it.
So for now, until I'm ready to make it and have a team of artists to actually make it reality, I'm going to have this Tumblr profile so that I can talk about my ideas and share this concept with the world!
---
Concept:
In this world, Witches are relatively common-place, being around 1 in 1000 people. Witches have no defining traits other than pointy ears at first, but each witch has a food that is baked into their very soul, and when they eat that food for the first time, they unlock their latent magical abilities as their soul manifests as a staff that they can use for magic.
All the magic is food themed, and based around the individual witch's designated food (For instance, a spicy pepper witch could use pyrokinesis, while an ice cream witch has cryokinesis).
The webcomic would follow an Egg witch as he attends The School of Culinary and Mystic Arts (SCMA for short) and joins a small coven, learning magic, friendship, and a lot of trauma. I mean a LOT.
---
The comic would be heavily inspired by cartoons like The Owl House, Gravity Falls and Amphibia, as well as Anime such as BNA and Little Witch Academia. Though it would be more mature, with violence, death, and serious tones (Hence why I'm not aiming for being a cartoon!)
---
Feel free to send asks with any questions! May not answer things I consider spoiler-y, but I'm happy to at least try filling y'all in one some details!
