Sorry for my lack of posts recently! Life has been pretty crazy between work and wedding planning, so I haven鈥檛 had a lot of time to be online. I鈥檓 hoping to be more active going forward, though! 馃

Because of Florida's high temperatures, blueberry season starts early here. This morning, I got to go pick my own! Gathering berries, spotting bunnies beneath the bushes, and enjoying the sunshine made for a perfect spring morning. You can really feel that Beltane is on the way!

Hey, don't be afraid of things that challenge your faith. Seriously, don't.
Either they'll give you a new perspective on things, or you'll become more secure and confident in your current beliefs. But avoiding the hard questions leaves you in an echo chamber with half-baked ideas and an insecurity in yourself. Step out of your comfort zone so you have room to grow.

Okay, so I鈥檓 shopping for a dress to wear to my bridal shower tomorrow, and let鈥檚 just say I was NOT prepared for how high prices have gotten.
One short dress from Belk costs one hundred dollars, with longer ones sitting close to one hundred and fifty. For hand-made products and small retailers, I could understand the price being so high, but this is a mass-produced item from BELK.
I don鈥檛 know, maybe I鈥檝e just been spoiled by thrift store prices. About eighty percent of my clothes are bought second-hand, so I鈥檓 not used to buying things brand new off the rack anymore.
Do you guys have any thoughts about this?

A thing about traditional Chinese medicine that a lot of western people don't understand is that it's kinda like medieval or early modern western medicine. There are lots of things in it that work, because the people who developed it were just as intelligent as we are! But also, it shouldn't be taken as the final word on medicine because quite a few important discoveries have been made over the last few centuries.

Sometimes appreciating and communing with nature means accepting the limitations of where you live.
I used to feel bad when I read so much about meditating outside, sitting in stillness with your eyes closed. I thought these writers had to be much better pagans and witches than me to accept the consequences of that in order to be close to nature.
Then I was lucky enough to visit the UK a few years ago and I realized there's just not the same kind of bugs there. These people weren't somehow ignoring swarms of mosquitos to meditate. They weren't better pagans than me; they lived in a different place.
Since then, I've tried to adjust advice to fit my home. I do nature walk meditations instead of sitting by water and I accept that I can't be out for hours when the temperatures get into the high 90s in July. Once I started working within the limits of Florida, I felt a lot more at home in it.
Now I understand that loving nature doesn't have to look the same in every place and that's okay. You're not a bad witch or pagan because you have to adjust your practice to your home.

You know what I鈥檓 really looking forward to? Passing down my grimoire to my future children and teaching them everything I鈥檝e learned.
