Good question! Its hard to translate asl to english exactly since sign language is so conceptual. I could probably type out the gist of the stories but its just not the same as actually seeing it be signed with the emotions and body language added in. I couldnt quote it exactly like my other teacher quotes.

so back in 2016, right after trump was elected, i posted something on this page along the lines of “as a queer female I am literally terrified that my rights are going to be taken away” and tagged it as “political”

now, in 2019, I would like to say a big FUCK YOU to all of the people that rather than having a civil conversation about our difference of opinions, instead absolutely HARASSED me. that’s right, a bunch of grown ass adults were calling a SIXTEEN YEAR OLD a “retard,” “dipshit,” “dumbass” and “fucking libtard,” along with demanding evidence to back up my statement as if trump and pence’s notoriously sexist, anti-lgbt backgrounds were not enough. like literally these are supposed to be the mature adults and they were on a fucking war path because they simply didn’t agree with what they were reading. I ended up deleting the post amid a severe panic attack because of all the absurdly hateful things that were being said to me for just having an opinion

and have yall seen the news lately? theres your fucking “evidence.” its literally all around us. women’s reproductive rights are under fire. the state i live in has passed one of the 6-week abortion bans. trans people are losing their right to just use a bathroom without being harassed and have been banned from joining the military. women and lgbt people are literally losing their rights under this administration.

and yeah, sixteen may have been a little too young to be posting political assumptions, but whether you are supporting these changes or fighting against them, you can’t deny that I might have had a point. listen to young people. they are the future of this country, after all.
