Gosh. Chandelure. One of the orange variants, if we're talking about complete pipe dreams. So, so pretty.
I'm actually probably more comfortable with Ghost-types than the average trainer, but Chandelure just requires a level of vigilance that I just do not want to constantly muster.
I think I’ve probably asked this before but rotomblr: if you could have absolutely any pokemon, not factoring in personality or care needs, what pokemon would you pick?
Mine is maybe a lapras, I love them but I’ll never live an aquatic enough lifestyle to own one

Victini - What's your philosophy in regards to winning?
Winning's nice - and as a trainer, sometimes winning pays for dinner.
But at the end of the day, I value good sportsmanship over victory; and I'm aiming to entertain more than I aim to win, honestly -- in anything I do, but with Pokemon battles, specifically. Especially because, let's face it, Pokemon battles are inherently just a little camp; like wrestling or somethin'. Sure, it's about strategy and skill and stuff, but it's also about putting on a good show, for your opponent if nothing else.
I'm not generally a loud or exuberant person; I'm a notorious navel-gazer, and while I think I understand people in theory, I usually prefer observing them from a distance. A friendly battle is my opportunity to ham it up a bit, put on a big personality for a couple minutes. It's fun!
("But Frankie," you might say, "have you ever considered doing contests? They seem like exactly what you're talking about" -- yes, sure, about a decade and a half ago in Hoenn, but the structured, official nature of it all gives me stage fright in a way even league battles don't)

Sooo, I'm curious!
What's a Pokemon you think would be incredibly frickin' cool to have, but caring for one is absolutely not in the cards right now?
#it's Sableye for me#cool as hell but I don't have “feeding my Pokemon with gemstones” amounts of money#pkmn irl#pokemon irl#rotumblr#rotomblr#pokeblogging#framblings

(@wingsofachampion) Hiya! What's your favorite thing about humans? -Tropius
Thanks for sending this in!
I guess it's just the inherent... unfathomableness of human existence?
Like, you know how you have this rich inner life, an incredible wealth of memories, experiences and knowledge, and every single second you compute more environmental data than anything (non-sentient, at least (*cough* Porygon *cough*)) we've ever developed technologically?
And that's just. Everyone. Every single person that's ever existed, from a ten-year-old with a barely-trained pidgey standing around waiting for someone to accidentally glance at them all the way to fuckin'. Steven Stone or whatever. They're all just such an immeasurably massive collection of perfectly unique data. Billions of people. Stretching back a million years or more. An uncountable number of thoughts and feelings and experiences, all equally important (or unimportant, I guess, but I'm an optimist at heart) in the face of a vast universe.
Like, fuck, isn't that beautiful?
#don't get me wrong:#I'd prefer if *some people* had a rich inner life *somewhere else*#but seriously humans are pretty fucking great in general#framblings#pkmn irl#pokemon irl#rotumblr#pokeblogging#rotomblr

I've seen folks share their trainer cards on here, so I figured I'd get in on the fun.
Honestly, for all that I'm normally a hardcore analog kind of person, I don't mind trainer cards being digital in so many regions now. Having one of them is alright; once you have five for as many different regions, it gets a little excessive.
#I think Hoenn lets you choose these days? But when I got this one physical cards were still the standard#rotomblr#pokemon irl#pokeblogging#pkmn irl#rotumblr#//ooc: this is honestly (deliberately) sloppy work what with the handlettering 'n all but yell if you want the template or something#framblings#frankie.img

Mun is Laurel, they/it, also 28.
Canon, such as it were, is a mixture of games, anime, and vibes.
Honestly just here for the ~atmosphere~; firmly low-stakes, no big planned plot, Fran's really just about existing as a pokemon trainer.
I enjoy translating both IRL nonsense and past Pokemon video game playthroughs into rotomblr posts.
the thesis is very real and I really am procrastinating on it :')
Interaction Rules: I prefer it if asks read like they're literally just from other people-in-the-Pokemon-universe using pokemon-tumblr. DM for OOC, unless you've got something really fucking entertaining.
So, no outright magic anons, but if you can make it make sense in-universe, I'm not averse to shenanigans. Give my rotom phone a porygon-transmitted virus or something, sicc a wild ghost 'mon on me, idk.
I'm down for the occasional rude in-character ask!
If something doesn't fit the vibes I'm aiming for, it'll just be politely ignored, so feel free to go a bit wild and I'll sort things out on my end.
Blog will have cursing and might have mild double entendre occasionally because Blog Owner is a dork with a very simple sense of humor.
Posts will likely be pretty slow and I might be inactive for longer periods of time.
also, I am supremely awkward and bad at timely replies. Doing my best, though!!

Gardevoir's Pokeball after 18-ish years.
It's really starting to tarnish around the edges; I've been offering to transfer him to a shiny new Luxury Ball instead (or another Premier Ball, or, heck, some of the super-fancy hellishly expensive custom apricorn balls I've been collecting), but he won't accept anything but this ratty old thing :')
#I'm sure this makes a wonderful impression at the pokemon center...#I'm spoiling the old git rotten I swear#I wish there was a good story behind that dent at least but I just tossed it straight into a light post once#rotomblr#pokeblogging#pkmn irl#rotumblr#pokemon irl#framblings#frankie.img

Any skilled trainer who says they’ve never been hurt by their own pokemon, even a minor injury, is just outright lying. You will get hurt, you will fuck up, you will fuck up with your pokemon too. That is par for the course, and you will grow from it.
#I mean. When you have Pokemon that get their sustenance off of life force this is just kinda A Thing anyway#but even beyond that#shit happens

Hi there!
Name's Fran/Frank/Frankie/hey-you-there (they/them); finally got talked into making a rotomblr account, what with ScraftyArt and the Pidgey App being pretty much unusable these days.
I've been a Pokemon trainer for *checks notes* ... 18 years now? Yikes.
Started my journey in Hoenn, but I've been pretty much all over the place. Did the whole gym challenge thing in a couple places as a young 'un and was actually pretty successful, but in the end I just... don't really enjoy constantly challenging myself all that much I guess?
Got roped into various research projects over the years, but my real love is the intersection of media and history, and the development and propagation of handwriting! Which I should be writing a thesis about that I'm definitely not procrastinating on by traveling a lot.
I've caught dozens of Pokemon over the years, most of which are on permanent loan to the various Professors whose research I was helping with -- but the ones that'll show up here most are my Gardevoir (who's been with me since the very beginning; helps me put battle-eager twerps in their place and supports me in keeping my ADHD-addled brain on straight), my Unown (obviously), Duskull (whom I befriended by hanging out in Mt. Pyre doing research for a few weeks), Ribombee (just a lil' guy) and Sinistea (who possessed my favorite teacup like a jackass, so I caught it; turnabout is fair play).
Pokemon that are around but not exactly mine include a firmly retired Blaziken, and a Mimikyu -- both of whom are really more family Pokemon.
FAQ: Q: Dude, you did gym challenges with that team? A: Nah, my ace trainer team was a lot more balanced.
Q: Thank Arceus, I almost thought someone was out there taking on gym leaders with a ribombee. A: ... So, about that...
Q: Do you not give your Pokemon names? A: They all have names, but I'm not just gonna put identifying information out there on the internet?? Did your parents never give you the privacy safety talk??? my goodness.
Q: So what was your first-ever Pokemon? A: Torchic! He's a Blaziken now and honestly getting kinda ancient, so he's enjoying a nice, calm retirement at home. Has been for longer than he'd been an actively battling Pokemon, honestly.
Q: What's your favorite type? A: None, honestly... but I keep ending up with ghosts and fairies somehow. There's a lot of steel pokemon I adore, too, but I currently don't really have the motivation or time to take care of an Aggron or a Skarmory.
