New Moon in Cancer on 9th July 2021
When I was a little girl, my mum was my world. She was my first teacher, comforter, and inspiration. She was beautiful, strong, and very loving. My mum had an incredible singing voice and often sang on stage with my Uncle Reg at various local pubs and clubs, together they made a great duo. I loved being part of their fun. My mum, of course was a native Cancerian and I miss her deeply. Her passing in 2013 left a huge whole in the family, especially the unconditional Cancerian love she exuded. Life is always a little bit easier if you are blessed to have a native Cancerian in your life. I’m the one snuggled in my mother’s neck.
Cancer is a Cardinal water sign ruled by the Moon representing the stomach, breasts, chest, womb, ovaries, and mucosa in the body. The principal of Cancer is “I Feel”. Cancerians are extremely sensitive and emotional which is their greatest strength yet can also be their downfall. When you are aware of this emotional power, you are most likely able to manage your emotions and those around you with more ease and grace than those without awareness.
Cancer needs to be nurtured and are incredible at nurturing and protecting those they care for. There is an acute intuition with Cancer that picks up on where others are vulnerable and will gladly nurture them. Cancer is the mother of the zodiac. Cancer loves anything to do with the home, cooking, the family, ancestors, and the past. Hugely sentimental, it will hang on to something no matter how small because of the sentimental value. Huge in kindness, sympathy, intuition, and imagination, however just like the crab it can hang on to relationships and resentments long after it was time to let go.
The Shadow Cancer: Acute sensitivity to the point at times anything that is perceived as hurtful can bring on a huge emotional irrational reaction. The moods can fluctuate and change at a moment’s notice. If you live with a Cancerian be them child or adult and they are in a mood, leave them until they get over it themselves letting the emotions subside or you can experience a tsunami crashing upon you.
New Moon in Cancer
No matter where our Sun or Moon is in our Natal Chart (Birth Chart), we are all effected by the Cancer New Moon. The New Moon signifies “new beginnings” and is a time to set the seeds for the future, so the New Moon in Cancer can trigger emotions of safety and security most likely with you feeling extra sensitive. This is the ideal time to get in touch with your feelings and intuition. The Cancer New Moon invites us to our feelings of home, security, family and nurturing. The Cancer New Moon helps you get in touch with your intuition and to listen to the messages and signals you are receiving. Being a cardinal sign, it will initiate change so ideally you should not wear yourself out but treat yourself gently. Cancer represents the desire to belong, feel safe and cared for. In saying this you may become more aware of your emotional needs which may include the wounds of the past.
Letting go isn’t easy if the emotional wounds run deep, however if the wounds and hurtful memories of the past are making themselves known it is time to open, feel the feeling accept the need for change and let go. In hindsight it is these kinds of experiences which help us grow. More Moon Magic Here Helpful suggestions during Cancer in New Moon

How New Moon in Cancer coincides with your cycle
Week 1
During menstruation, your body releases chemical-messengers called prostaglandins, which stimulate your uterus to contract, which helps encourage the shedding of the uterine lining (the period). These prostaglandins are suggested to be responsible for increasing gastrointestinal side effects around this time, by influencing the nearby intestinal tissue (Heitkemper MM, 1992). If you find yourself with stomach and bowel issues it could be because of these chemical messengers. The stomach is ruled by Cancer, so it makes sense to address this topic at this time: During this New Moon in Cancer take a critical look at your diet. Do you plan your meals, do you cook, or do you eat take away meals? Can you find ways to incorporate home cooking into your days? Looking after your gut during your menses is so important and you might even discover a pattern of painful cramping could be remedied simply by changing your diet.
Week 2The favourite part of my cycle was week two. My period was finished, and the days of oestrogen began. This week is ideal to begin anything new. It’s a week where your body is on track for increased brain activity that enables quick thinking and ideas to flow freely. It is also a good time to love and forgive those around you that may have caused you suffering. The body is at its ultimate high this week and for that reason you will have emotional strength to deal with any old wounds that need stitching. Lean into the New Moon and the Caner energy during this week and watch the magic happen.
Week 3
Ovulation marks the beginning of week 3 and if your progesterone that rises over the next few days can stay optimal until day 28 your PMS days may be over. To keep progesterone levels at their optimal levels you need to look at your stress hormones because they can interfere with your progesterone causing PMS to occur. For me, one of the most important factors to healing my progesterone levels was looking at the health of my gut and how that impacted also on my stress levels. Science has proved that our gut is our second brain. If the microbiome is out of balance, you may feel anxious, depressed, or tired. You may also suffer from memory problems or brain fog. In addition to eating the right foods, try to get into a meditative state prior to eating. Do this by removing all stressors, including stressful people and conversations. Be grateful for the food that is in front of you and eat slowly. This week try to avoid anything that comes in a can, plastic bag, cardboard box or bottle. Eat plant-based foods only – click here for a whole balanced food.
Week 4
The hormone progesterone peaks at day 21 and should remain at optimum levels until the end of your monthly cycle normally day 28. At this time, all hormones crash sending signals through your body to release the uterine lining because no pregnancy has occurred, and the body starts the cycle again. Do you experience the Progesterone drop at Day 21 and suffer PMS? What would it mean to you if you could eliminate PMS? To understand why Progesterone drops prematurely you need to address a few things in your life.
Stress (meditate, breathing techniques; Food (plant-based options) Hydration (water only) Exercise/stretching (30 minutes a day)
Thoughts (counter your negative thoughts with – that may not be true)Above all the greatest discovery I found out was that Stress Hormones interfere with Sex Hormones, so if you are stressed PMS will most likely be hanging around. Look to the activities I’ve suggested to do this week to help you find ways to reduce stress in your body.

The Moon in You helps you to understand the impact hormones have on your emotions and psychology. During menstruation, hormones create significant mood and behaviour changes within the body and as a result, some women make choices they regret. If all is well with your monthly hormonal cycle, tracking your moods daily for a few months, and then overlaying your findings using a healthy hormonal chart, will identify a pattern of behaviour. Having evidence that your mood swings coincide with your hormonal changes can bring some comfort. Now, you can predict unproductive habitual behaviours and not be swept away by your emotional state largely created by misdirected feelings. Are you ready to take control of your emotional wellbeing?

Grace & The Full Moon in Capricorn
Capricorn energy is like the lyrics to a good song. You might have a fantastic drumbeat, cool guitar riff and a violin section but without the lyrics, you are left to your own imagination. Lyrics tell a story, they create a world that you enter, and bring you out off. Lyrics can have a profound impact on your soul and just like the Capricorn energy you are forever changed. Capricorn is a cardinal Earth sign ruled by Saturn. Capricorn represents practicality, achievements, structure, time, being responsible and working hard to lay firm foundations. We can all learn so much from this energy and if you are lucky enough to know a native Capricorn, you would have a wealth of resources to tap into. But don’t forget to ask!
Capricorn energy is Ambitious. Ambition with a touch of grace allows those with high Capricorn energy to be truly appreciated. Capricorns love to feel appreciated. Grace is about courtesy, good will almost like humility however, with ambition you are aware of your greatness. There is nothing wrong with ambition, yet if you wish to harness true leadership there must be a softening of the attitude, ‘take it all at any cost’.
Focusing now on one Capricorn trait of structure. Structure in the business world is a system that outlines how certain activities are directed to achieve the goals of the organisation. These activities can include the rules, roles, and responsibilities. The organisational structure is often referred to as a hierarchy and allows for the ease of information flow. Structure is easily created during this Full Moon in Capricorn. Where in your life do you need to build structures? What is your own personal hierarchy? How do you organise your days? How can you create your own personal structure and offer grace to everyone?
The opposite sign of Capricorn is Cancer, and you may feel the sensitivities of Cancer, and this could invoke a greater need to feel safe and secure. In saying this it is you who may need to be the strong one for those around you. A cardinal sign initiates action and can at times trigger the emotions of Cancer as cold and unfeeling. It can be somewhat of a paradox for some. Remember to take a few moments to close the eyes, feel your heart and sense your breathing. This immediate action to any emotional state allows response time instead of reaction.
Moving our attention to your goals. With this full moon in Capricorn, you may be working towards goals you have set for yourself; this is the ideal time to get things done, complete tasks, get organised and really go after what you started.
And lastly, because the Sun is in Cancer at this time, look at ways you can have both emotional and material security. See how you can find the balance between heart and head. What material items would make you feel secured? Write them down in a journal. A question to ask yourself is: Why does this material item make me feel safe? Is it rent paid up for a few months, is it paying your mortgage up for a few months? Having the cupboards stocked with food, enough to keep me safe of a few weeks? When you begin to look deeper at your material wants and needs, you begin the process of knowing yourself, what makes us come into an emotional state and most importantly what helps us get out of this emotional state?
Key Capricorn Facts:
Capricorn Ruling Planet: Saturn (time, structure, responsibilities)
Capricorn Ruling House: 10th House: Integrity, responsible, achievement, self-control, discipline.
Capricorns Shadow: Power hungry, materialistic, ambitious, unforgiving
Capricorn Symbol: Mountain Goat
Capricorn Medical Ruler: Skeletal system, knees, joints
Capricorn Element: Earth (practical, sense of foundation)
Capricorn Modality: Cardinal (initiating action)

More about the MOON
Capricorns are the most hardworking signs of the zodiac and when the Full Moon is in Capricorn it digs in to work even harder. The Full Moon in Capricorn is an ideal time for getting things done, implementing processes to completing tasks, getting organised to pursue your goals and career.
You will become clearer on what you still must do achieve what you want, while looking at what you’ve already done, and how you will make the necessary adjustments to reach your goal. Your feelings of perseverance and commitment will be more prominent, and your drive will be heightened to succeed, while having the
Full Moon in Capricorn helping you through obstacles along the way.
At this time, the Capricorn Full Moon faces the Sun in Cancer, its opposite sign, with both signs correlated with feelings of security. While Capricorn finds security from our external world, Cancer asks us to check in with our inner world for feelings of security and safety.
During this Full Moon in Capricorn, you may have to be tough and more disciplined with yourself. Know and trust that if you can find balance between your inner and outer world, you will achieve both emotional and material security.
Helpful suggestions during Capricorn in Full Moon
· Are you telling yourself the truth or are you trying to convince yourself otherwise?
· Think of how you can make things easier by having structure.
· Accept full responsibility for your actions and don’t blame others.
· Learn some practical skills. How to make a fire!
· Spend time in the garden to connect you back to the Earth!
· Spend time with animals to connect and settle your emotions.
· Make a list of all those little jobs you really want to finish.
· If you could change one thing in your life, what would it be? Write this down in your journal. What is one task you can do right now to move towards changing this thing in your life?
How Full Moon in Capricorn coincides with your cycle.
Week 1:
No doubt about it, Capricorn energy will push you to do more during your menses week. If you have your periods during this Full Moon allow yourself to feel the pull of the Capricorn energy but focus it more on activities that don’t require physical exertion. Remember your body is in repair mode and having to deal with the symptoms of having a period and pushing yourself physically will not serve you.
· Tender breasts
· Bloating
· Fluid retention
· Muscle aches
· Joint pain
· Headaches
· Acne
· Abdominal cramps
· Diarrhea or constipation
· Lower back pain
· Trouble sleeping
· Low energy
· Fatigue
· Emotional upset
Also considering Capricorn is the medical ruler of the joints you might like to look at this area of your body while you’re in a more passive week of activity. As you age you will soon realise that your joints need to be moved frequently i.e.: finger joints, elbows, wrists, knees, toe joints etc. During this week why not work with these areas as they are often overlooked. I have found this article that will help you with gentle movements. Click here for a great article.
Week 2:
So much joy, happiness, and Oestrogen this week. Week 2 is a perfect combination of the Capricorn ambitious energy and the powerful feel-good hormone Oestrogen. Capricorn energy will give you forward momentum and oestrogen will give you a feminine overhaul: Fuller Breasts, Shinier Hair, Glowing Skin, Sparking Eyes, Quicker brain activity, Arousal feelings, Happier Moods, More Outspoken, Stronger. Endless supply of Endorphins (natural pain killer) will help you hit any ball out of any park. This is the best week to charge ahead with your task list in hand. You have all the power this week, you are stronger, smarter, and fearless. Go for it.
Week 3:
The skeleton system is medically ruled by Capricorn. Let’s explore this a little further and see how this vital system is affected during your menstrual cycle. A study I found was on NCBI has the following information.
The menstrual cycle is a complex process involving the interaction of the hypothalamus, the anterior pituitary, the ovaries, and the uterus. The hormonal changes occurring during this cyclic process not only affect oocyte maturation and the endometrial and vaginal environments but can also influence several other physiological and biochemical phenomena.
They investigated the changes in serum calcium, magnesium, and inorganic phosphorus levels during different phases of the menstrual cycle in fifty healthy young women. We found subtle but significant variations in these levels in the menstrual, follicular, and luteal phases.
The results showed the serum calcium level was highest in the follicular phase whereas the serum magnesium level was lowest in the follicular phase; the serum inorganic phosphorus levels was highest in the menstrual phase.
These variations could be due to the impact of the changing oestrogen and progesterone secretion on the parathyroid glands.
Your body cannot make calcium. The body only gets the calcium it needs through the food you eat, or from supplements. If you do not get enough calcium in your diet, or if your body does not absorb enough calcium, your bones can get weak or will not grow properly.
Now, when looking at this type of research you need to ask yourself a few questions? If Calcium levels was highest during follicular phase (week 1 and 2) what impact does low calcium have during the last two weeks of my cycle. Considering calcium is so important for a healthy skeleton it’s worth investigating if your body is getting enough of it.
Week 4:
Are you aware that If you maintain optimum levels of progesterone after you ovulate around Day 14, the dreaded symptoms of PMS may not occur?
Further, are you aware that if you did not ovulate at Day 14 you may not have any progesterone at all, and in that case, PMS and her sister PMDD could be quite acute. I would encourage you to examine this if you suspect your ovulation is not occurring.
I reference Dr Libby Weaver when she writes, ‘It is critical for you to know (and often the assistance of a health professional is required) why you are not ovulating, rather than just treating for low progesterone. Simply treating low progesterone in this case won’t resolve what is really going on: anovulatory cycles.
Anovulation or an anovulatory cycle is a menstrual cycle with no ovulation. This means an egg cell isn't released by the ovaries which normally happens at the end of the first stage in the menstrual cycle, known as the follicular phase.
Helping the body to re-establish an ovulation pattern will, amongst other benefits, generate a healthier progesterone level’.
Dr Weaver further points out that ovulation may not occur when:
There is a consistent, relentless output of stress hormones.
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is present, or
There is a poor thyroid function (this is not necessary a thyroid disease, the thyroid gland is not working properly).
Let’s get you balanced, use the forward momentum energy of Capricorn to get this sorted and seek a health professional.

New Moon in Gemini - Go Within
You go to a party and immediately you are either drawn to the most vivacious person in the room or you are the nugget everyone seems to gravitate to. Most likely you’re either a Gemini or you’re in a room with a Gemini.
The truth is, Gemini is fun to be around and very adept at verbal communication. They know how to hold a conversation and deliver their lines with just the right amount of wit and sagacity that will bring a smile to any audience.
Geminis are exceptionally curious individuals always getting into all sorts of mischief and they have the capacity to be adaptable to any situation.
How can we non-native Gemini’s tap into this energy during this New Moon. We will all be feeling the affects of her energy no matter what star sign you are.
During this New Moon watch your internal chatter. The dualistic nature of the human mind can be difficult to navigate and considering we have over 6,000 thoughts per day according to a 2020 study (News Hub), this might be a good place to experiment with this powerful energy.
Observing your thoughts during meditation is one way you can know yourself. I like to sit with pen and paper next to me, and as a thought comes up, I jot it down and continue to meditate (which for me is breathing in for a count of 4 – hold the breath for a count of 4 – release the breath for a count of 4). At the end of the session say 20 minutes, review what you wrote down, it is a fascinating experience.
The Shadow:
Gemini is easily distracted, not good listeners and finds it hard to finish what they started. Gemini can be contrary, going opposite to what is said as they can see both sides. The most challenging thing for Gemini to do is relax the mind, focusing your mind, deep breathing and yoga help greatly with slowing down all of Gemini’s rapid thinking.
Key Gemini Facts:
Gemini Ruling Planet: Mercury (communication, messenger of the Gods, intellect)
Gemini Ruling House: 3rd House: siblings, thoughts, communication style, speed of clarity
Gemini Symbol: The Twins
Gemini Medical Ruler: arms, hands, shoulders, bronchial tubes, lungs
Gemini Element: Air (Mental)
Gemini Modality: Mutable (adaptable, flexible)
Gemini Counterbalance Sign: Sagittarius
New Moon in Gemini
No matter where our Sun or Moon is in our Natal Chart (Birth Chart), we are all effected by the New Moon in Gemini.
The New Moon signifies “new beginnings” and is a time to set the seeds ……to read more about the Moon, head over to this space. The Moon
Suggestions for You to Do During the Gemini New Moon
· Catch up with a Gemini friend.
· Are you a native Gemini? It is important to write down ideas as you will feel this energy more than others.
· Take a short trip in the countryside.
· Start a journal – write about how you feel not think.
· Be willing to change and be more adaptable.
· Approach things in a new or different way
· Watch your gossip tendencies.
· Meditate
· Start a Yoga Practice
How the New Moon in Gemini Coincides with Your Cycle
Week One
Do you feel withdrawn when you are on your moon week? If you bleed on the New Moon, it’s a very tender time for you. It is a time to call yourself inwards, a time to nourish selfish in ways you’ve never considered before. Gemini is the medical ruler of the arms, hands, shoulders, bronchial tubes, lungs. How do you feel about picking one of these areas and pampering yourself with intention? Perhaps you might apply a salt scrub to your arms and hands and then gently massage some warm sesame seed oil with an essential oil like Frankincense. You might try investing in a shoulder massage where you sit in a chair or get out in nature and fill your lungs with scent. Perhaps taking your awareness off your discomfort around your period pain and onto other parts of your body will bring balance to this week.
Week Two
Do you stop and feel the body shift from last week to this week? If you’re in week two of your cycle during this New Moon (7 days after the first day of your bleed) then I image your excitement is even more escalated due to the hormone of oestrogen rising. Oestrogen is the sex hormone that helps our body prepare for ovulation. Near the end of the first phase (second week), oestradiol levels peak, triggering the brain to release two hormones: a large surge of luteinizing hormone (LH), and a smaller surge of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). This then triggers ovulation. Do you sense these hormones in your body? Can you feel the rise of the sex hormone testosterone around Days 12 and 13? Gemini energy is a mutable sign meaning (mental) so using this energy to focus your attention on your body feelings is a great way to support yourself. Some women have experienced emotional upsets when hormones rise and fall, do you? Meditation around your emotional upsets with the knowledge of what hormone is governing you helps to calm the mind and the body.
Week 3 (Phase 3)
Hormones will be dropping off after ovulation. Watch for this. Women tend not to focus on this mid-way point because many are unaware that a mini-PMS might occur as hormones fall and another one takes its place.
In this instance oestrogen and testosterone fall away immediately after ovulation and it then takes a few days for the progesterone to rise. Progesterone becomes the dominant hormone with a lower increase of oestrogen rising alongside. It is imperative this week that progesterone is optimal as it will carry you through to the last day of your cycle before all hormones drop and your period comes. PMS during this week should not occur and if you suffer with PMS for more than a day, you might like to consider checking our if your hormones are out of balance.
Week 4:
Let’s assume the unimaginable. Your hormones are out of balance, and you suffered with severe PMS during the last 7 days of your cycle.
Are you familiar with the stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline? These two stress hormones are vital for human survival, they are the hormones that make you run fast and give you strength when needed the most. These hormones have the capacity to shut down systems in the body so you can focus all your attention on survival.
What happens when stress hormones meet sex hormones?
Stress hormones win every time because given a choice between creating a nice womb space for a potential baby or running from a tiger, guess which one will win. Yes, the running from the tiger.
In our climate of 2021, we are stressed because we are frightened and that is not going away anytime soon. BUT there are pockets of time you can escape from the bubble of fear we have created for ourselves and that is in quite mediation with your focus turned inward. How do you do this? Guided meditations. There are many ways to be guided in mediation, apps and you tube. Learn to breath when your heart races, learn to close your eyes and put your fingers in your ears and hum, learn to walk briskly for 10 minutes and then sit and listen to your heartbeat – they are all forms of mediation.
Try it and see if reducing stress, helps with your PMS.
Tracking to better understand your emotions.
Scorpio is the most intense signs of the zodiac; deep and passionate, never satisfied with what is presented on the surface, digging deeper and deeper to locate the riches below. Scorpio demands courage and to be fearless.

Empowering Yourself Through Understanding Your Mindset

Empowering Yourself By Breaking The Chains Of Conformity
I’ve read that conformity is a type of social influencer where a person changes their attitude or behaviour in response to group pressure. Depending on the type of behaviours that is elicited will dictate whether conforming in any given situation is appropriate. I’d like to encourage us to review the bad conformity we all fall into that keeps us stuck in a never-ending loop of missed opportunities and denial of what we truly want. Aquarius is the sign that focuses on the greater good, the world, the animals and humanity. This sign is known as the rebel of the zodiac, when it is not satisfied on how things are it will instigate change with its brilliant ideas and thoughts. If ever there was an opportunity to break the chains of conformity, this New Moon is it.Individuals who are born under the sign of Aquarius or have active Aquarian energy do not like to be seen as one of the mob, they believe they are different to everyone else. Aquarians are very friendly and helpful however they can be detached and aloof and that prevents others from getting close to them. This can frustrate relationships because of the lack of intimacy. Aquarians can be too objective at times only looking at the big picture because they incorporate the good of the many after all they are the humanitarians. They can really come up with wild and big ideas that can be brilliant, but they need to come down to Earth to look more at the details to keep them on their quest. Aquarius loves to break the barriers, to rebel to feel totally liberated so it can push us to take risks. This is good news; it allows us to add some spice and pizazz to our life and get out of our comfort zone. Don’t be afraid to burst out of limiting ways, Aquarius will give you the permission to be totally different and inventive.

Full Moon in Capricorn on 16th July 2019
Some words from Kerrie
What I’ve always found funny is I never had any intention of studying astrology. Due to my love of Ancient Egypt, Astrology was constantly mentioned throughout this time of highly advanced knowledge.
The constellations, star systems and cycles of time intertwined astrology in these ancient times. In fact, astrology and the “signs” are mentioned throughout the Bible. I thought I would study astrology for about a month or two and here I am years later still fascinated and intrigued.
Astrology is about cycles of time, people usually seek an astrologer when they are in a crisis of some type or want to know what in store for them in the future. There is an Art and Science to this complex and vast subject that affects us as a “human family” and as individuals. “As Above, So Below; As Below, So Above is one of the Seven Hermetic Principals relates to astrology. We see the events play out in the heavens that is reflected in us as the collective and as individuals.
I’ve found astrology explains everything based on only three pieces of information, your date, time and location of your birth. Amazing! It will teach you to understand yourself and therefore understand others. Things like, why you behave as you do, your children, your parents, your money, health and relationships. You’ll not only find the cause, but you’ll also find help.
I am forever the student learning all the time and will do so for the rest of my life.
Once you engage astrology you’ll see how incredibly fascinating you are, and things will never be the same again.

The intenseness of the Scorpio New Moon gives us the window to look deeply into ourselves and ask what are the most important things in our life. We can then discard the unnecessary baggage to give our thinking and decision making more clarity http://ow.ly/lAwP30gwP27 #scorpionewmoon #themooninyou #moonenergy
