Self Love & Glamour Potion

it recently occurred to me that i can make fancy little drinks and incorporate magick to make a delicious potion (honestly, so slay). Sorry in advance for not having any real measurements for you, i measure with my heart lol
don't forget to be keeping your intentions in mind while you make this, because without intention, this is just a regular yummy drink (with some health benefits).
what you'll need:
♡ Pomegranate ~ abundance, luck, love, and wishes
♡ Apple ~ beauty, love, lust, luck
♡ Cinnamon stick ~ success, prosperity, abundance
♡ Splash of Citrus Juice ~ brightens up the drink, correspondence with depend on what you use. Optional, but makes it extra yummy
♡ Sparkling Water
How you make it:
crush up some pomegranate. you don't need a ton, but you'll want about an ounch (ish) of juice
strain the pomegranate into your cup
add some apple slices (i like to eat them when i've finished the drink)
plop ur apple slices and cinnamon stick in your cup
fill the cup almost the rest of the way with sparkling water
top it off with your citrus juice
enjoy :)

Kitchen Witchcraft: Orange Bitters for happiness, health, and prosperity
Here we are in dreary January (again). The days are short and there is nothing left but monochrome colors. All life seems to have been skimmed off of the world - or at least all of the serotonin. I'm SAD - it's the SAD time of the year.
It also happens to be citrus season. Of all of the cures for the sads, citrus (and a ready application of the vitamin C it brings) remains the best cure* for a (mild) case of the sads. With this in mind, my partner and I decided that our seasonal batch of house bitters this year would be orange flavored.
Of all of the citrus that I have tried, orange is the one that I like the least out of season but one of the ones that I love the most come January when nothing else is edible. Orange has some of the cleansing properties of the other citruses while also adding the sweetening properties of happiness and abundance. This is the energy that I wanted to harness to help bring us into the new year with a positive attitude and a bright outlook on life.
This recipe was loosely adapted from the book Bitters: A Spirited History of a Classic Cure-All with Cocktail Recipes & Formulas by Brad Thomas Parson which is a nice primer on the basics of bitters making. I changed the bittering agent (I do not care for Gentian root) and the base spirit from white liquor to brown since I will be adding my orange bitters primarily to cocktails made with brown liquor.
Orange Bitters
Zest three oranges 1/4 cup chopped dried orange peel 4 Cloves (abundance) 8 Green Cardamom pods, cracked (happiness) 1/4 tsp Coriander Seeds (healing) 4 tbs Wild Cherry Bark 1/4 tsp Allspice Berries (abundance) Wild Turkey 101 1 cup water 2 tbs Rich Syrup 2 jars with secure lids Making bitters is super easy - it is simply a long-form alcohol infusion. For the first two weeks, you infuse all of the herbal ingredients in the liquor and then you strain them out and use them to make a strong tea which you steep for another week. Then, you combine the liquor, strained tea, and rich syrup. From there, you bottle and your bitters are ready to use.
This recipe calls for regular shaking of the infusion - this is where I add the majority of my magic to the recipe. As I revisit my concoction to shake it daily, I focus on adding the energy of happiness, health, and abundance for the new year in. I also did a ritual where I burned an orange candle that had been dressed with a powder made from the base ingredients over the jar to further empower the spell.
Cocktail bitters can be applied in various ways. They can, of course, be used in the creation of a cocktail but they can also be added to water or another beverage, or simply taken on the tongue. The bitter agents in this concoction will soothe minor stomach upsets while they liven your mood.
A few notes about the ingredients in this recipe: As always with recipes, the quality of the ingredients will affect the potency and flavor of your final product. It is important to use organic orange peel if you can for this recipe since pesticides tend to accumulate in the peels of the fruit. I used Wild Turkey 101 for the infusion but any overproof liquor will do. You could substitute another bittering agent for Wild Cherry bark, the original recipe called for Gentian root.

Welcome back to
Drunk unethical Love Spells
as always, I am coming up with these for shits and giggles and you should actually try none of these
• coat your tongue in honey before kissing your lover (do you really need the love spell?)
• spell their name on a bay leaf in red or pink candle wax and bury it in fresh dirt
• burn dried red rose petals surrounded by pink candles while chanting their name naked (this is just all cliches in one but it might work who knows)
• force them to watch anything with Bette Midler in it (this is 100% serious for sure and if they don’t fall in love with you and Bette Midler immediately all hope is lost and the universe is telling you they’re the wrong person)
• light a red candle with their name engraved on it outside in a thunder storm
• mix them a drink with whiskey and cinnamon enchant it by letting rose quartz soak in it (make sure it’s the kind of stone you can do that with) while setting it over a piece of paper with your name. Pour it over ice after a while and serve
These are of course for jokes only and you shouldn’t be doing them (but if you do let me know how it works out)

You can survive almost anything through the right combination of:
Bitching and moaning
Hater-ology
Doing a goofy little bit about it
Having a buddy say "that's so fucked up" at intermittent points (you can also be your own buddy)
Destroying the cursed amulet you carry everywhere, why do you even have that thing

Something I want to draw attention to in practicing any form of spirituality is to not let yourself become unhealthily obsessed with it. You don't have to look at everything as a sign from the divine or consult tarot for every single decision you make. It's important that you stay grounded and sometimes that means stepping out of a spiritual perspective, living life in the moment and following simply what your heart wants.

I think the weird obsession with not messing w free will is a spin off of bystander effect. Everybody expects from others that their self is to be the only entity capable of causing change. While its true that you can't make a horse drink, it is the rancher's responsibility to ensure water is accessible.
This is a response to the "where is the morality of binding someone from smoking," poll that circulated recently. I think its less of "you shouldn't," and more, "you are physically incapable of this." If the horse doesn't want the water, you can't force him to drink without causing incredible stress and possible harm to everyone involved and possibly hundreds of dollars of machinery, maybe even a sedative.
Does this mean interventions are messing with free will? If another person is so dead set on smoking and the consequences that come w it, you asking them to stop for the greater good (health of the environment, community, and their own good) would be no more effective than doing a binding spell imo. Also as humans, our strength lies in our compassion and connection with each other. They say habits like smoking are a like low dose of, "i have no regard for my health or life." Is it not the responsibility of the community to give this individual a life worth living? Smoking is just the symptom.
