So uh! Update! My stepdad officially ran out of unemployment. None. That's it. They stopped doing federal extensions in 2021. We're officially dead in the water until April unless we can borrow $3,500 from his parents to last us until taxes come in, in late February. The $3,500 is going to... almost exclusively bills. Despite the fact that there's no income now except for my mother's disability (which is rent and ONLY rent), we can't guarantee we'll get CalFresh. They've rejected us six times. Both my stepdad and I are actively looking for work. He has a job guaranteed in April. The money is going towards saving for utility bills, groceries, my mom's insulin, and gas for the truck.
So... we need help. Below are my links; my mother and I created a GoFundMe to try and raise the necessary funds, but... that'll take time. Anything helps, even just reblogging or giving some kind words.

Hi everyone, I figured me coming here would be worth a shot. I’m a Afro-Indigenous queer disabled person who’s trying to raise some money for bills and such. I’ve been trying to get on disability but was denied, so I’m going through with an attorney to help. Until it gets solved, I’m trying to scrape by.
Right now, I’m just looking for any money I can get to ease the load for bills, medical equipment, etc. My health is declining rapidly and trying to get art and crochet commissions have been difficult.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

UNEMPLOYMENT ISN'T PAYING US. IT WAS LESS THAN HELPFUL. IT WAS ACTUALLY MOSTLY INSULTING. BETTER NEWS, I THINK I GOT A JOB WITH BURLINGTON. WE ARE FUCKED UNTIL I GET PAID.
we have food to get, insurance to pay or we can't drive, and gas to actually get to work. my stepdad got hired on with UPS but starts on the 26th of this month.

Republicans saying Trump is going to be more popular among "Black Voters" because his indictments and mug shot gives him "street cred" is just racist.
Someone had to say it. So I said it.
Also white collar crime isn't "Street cred". That's privilege people crimes.

Fast food is accessibility
Restaurants are accessibility
Door dash is accessibility
Uber is accessibility
Just because it's a convenience for you doesn't mean it doesn't make the world more accessible to disabled people.
And idk. I think "You're poor because you go out to eat every night" completely ignores a very serious problem. Why are they going out too eat all the time? Do they not have time to cook? Is the idea of standing for 30 minutes to cook unbearable for them because of pain? Does their home have a functioning kitchen? Do they not have energy after working all day in blue collar work?
Convenience for abled people is accessibility for disabled (and low income) people.

Conservatives now outraged about the idea of teaching kids empathy.
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTR7fUTaf/
The quiet part couldn't get any louder. She's just... saying this with get full chest.
You can't make this up.
They make fun of Millennials every other week like "Millennials canceling paper towels. Millennials canceling diamonds." Then they go out and try to cancel... kids learning empathy?
So confused.

Remember as the war in Africa ramps up. Any involvement of countries such as America, China, or Russia has absolutely nothing to do with whatever politics they claim it is "defending democracy" or "spreading communism" or whatever they are claiming.
And it's 100% entirely about resources. Gold and Uranium deposits.
We know this. That's what it's always about. They've literally declassified documents admitting that the wars in the Middle East was about oil, and those wars still have a lasting impact on countries like Iraq and Iran (what I'm saying is that the United States had a heavy hand in the oppressors of both countries taking power).
And any United States involvement with any political unrest in Africa will have the same consequences.
(I'm aware the Middle East is not Africa. I'm just saying what these countries did to the Middle East is what they're doing to Africa.)

Hot take ig but kids in high school shouldn't have to work either. They should be spending their evenings doing homework and extra-curriculars and fucking around.
There definitely shouldn't be entire industries reliant on their low-wage labor. Why are there many kids being scheduled for a 6 hour shift after a 7 hour school day when they've got learning and their future and their childhood to worry about?
Any industry built on poverty wage child labor should perish, and that's most fast food and grocery and retail so I guess the economy's tanked 🤷. Should've thought about that before deciding to make the essential work into jobs for children and the underclass.

Heat Intolerance
This disability pride month I'd like to talk about heat intolerance. Because honestly although it's not the first health issue that presented symptoms in my life. It was the first time I was like "I don't think my body works right".
And honestly given disability pride month is during one of the hottest months in the year. It seems fitting. Especially because there's a lot of disabilities and medications that cause it.
What is heat intolerance?
Simply speaking it's the inability for the body to regulate it's temperatures especially in hot settings to cool itself down.
Why is awareness important?
Because gaslighting people or worse not providing them a place to cool down just because you "feel fine" is extremely fucking dangerous.
What are the medicines that can cause heat intolerance?
Antihistamines (Allergy medications) . Decongestants (Sudafed or any medication that has the D at the end of it). Stimulants (ADHD medications. Steroids. Caffeine.) Beta-blockers (blood pressure medications). Overactive bladder treatment. Psychiatric medications (including but not limited to medications for depression and anxiety). Pain relievers. Antibiotics.
What medical conditions can cause heat intolerance?
EDS (Elhers-Danlos syndrome). Autism. ADHD. Migraines. Brain/spinal-cord injury. Sensory processing disorder. Chronic fatigue syndrome. Endocrin problems. POTS. Menopause. Hypothyroidism. Diabetes. Heart Disease. Multiple sclerosis. Mental health disorders.
What should I do if I suspect I have heat intolerance?
Reduce time outside during hot months. Keep your electrolytes up. Drink plenty of water. Stay out of the sun whenever possible if outside. Be aware of the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Clothes that are best worn for heat intolerance. Loose lightweight breathable fabrics. Natural fibers. Long sleeves that protect from sunburn as sunburns will increase your risk. Light clothes that reflect light. Wide brimmed hats that shade the face and neck.
Cool. So what are those symptoms I'm supposed you be looking for?
Headaches. Excessive fatigue. Mood changes. Muscle cramping or weakness. Nausea/ vomiting. Rapid heartbeat. Excessive sweating or not sweating at all.
When should I do to the doctor?
If you suspect you have heat intolerance you can go to your PCP to discuss what medications you may be on and what you can do about it. Otherwise, please go to the emergency room if you have symptoms of heat stroke.
This is good information and all but why are you making this post?
To raise awareness. Not just for the people that have it but weren't aware of what it was called. But for all of the idiots that tried to gaslight me when I was in school because I was like "I don't think this is normal. Every time we do our mile run outside I vomit all over the place but other kids aren't doing that."
Also because people always blame me for over heating if I wear long sleeves or pants. I always like to take notes from what people in the middle east wear because they literally live in the excessive heat and spend long hours in the excessive heat. Often in clothing that covers most of their body. They've gotta know what they're doing, right?
I have some type of xenophobic comment about why people from the middle east cover up
Shut the fuck up 😊

I know I talk about it a lot on my page, but I don’t care because it pisses me off to the high heavens.
If I hear an employer say, “People don’t want to work-“ anything, I’m smacking them. Why should we (potential employees) have to strive because you don’t want to pay us what’s owed?
With all the writers, actors, producers, and UPS workers unionizing and protesting, I hope employers, even small ones, that people aren’t going to stand for their bullshit.

For all my friends who have pots!
For disability pride month I'd like to share my favorite DIY Gatorade recipe for disabled people to tweek as they need. It'll be good for POTs, people with heat sensitivity, and people with severe allergies.
2 cups of water
1/4 cup of lime juice
1/4 cup of lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon of salt
Sweetener of your choice (I use local honey)
You could alternatively use 1/2 cup of any freshly squeezed fruit juice of your choice if you don't dig the lemon/ lime flavor.
I personally prefer lite salt or Himalayan salt because it contains more salts than just the sodium chloride (electrolytes are a variety of salts).
And I use local honey to sweeten to taste because it helps my server allergies which triggers my migraines.

I don’t ever want someone telling me that newer generations don’t want to work.
I’ve applied to multiple jobs, as well as my family (since Amazon fired our main breadwinner) and no one has gotten back to us. No one.
I understand this is an issue for multiple different people. I understand that others go through the same.
But why should I have to face the constant threat of homelessness? Why should I have to constantly worrying about when I can get my medication because how expensive it can be?
The fact that the US is one of the richest countries but can’t even help it’s own fucking people had always been disgusting to me, especially towards other BIPOCs like myself, as well as those who are disabled, lgbtq+, etc.
