Me: “I think I’ll start reading Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage! It seemed pretty good from the excerpts Ive read in English class”
Also me: *literally googling every other word in the first Canto*
#this is soooo me lol#english is my third language and it took me over 5 months to finish it!#but it’s sooo rewarding afterwards i promise#it’s easily one my favourite books of all time#lord byron#childe harold's pilgrimage

i think it’s safe to say that this one completely ruined me.
#i cried like a baby#the friendship between rieux and tarrou was so heartbreakingly beautiful#i loved every single one of the characters from othon to paneloux regardless of obvious flaws#so happy rambert got to have his somewhat happy ending#also love cottard casually mentioning the stranger at the beginning#albert camus#la peste#books
