Here's last week's pull list! Tbh I didn't have a favorite of the four; I really liked the Doctor Aphra comics I'm getting caught up on though. New Mutants leaned into the story a bit more, and for someone who's new to these characters I like getting to know them when they're just talking amongst themselves. There we go. Alright, so I haven't been able to go to the comic book store in a while so here's three weeks of comics! So great. All the X-Men comics are getting really good O.O Astonishing X-Men was probably my favorite, mostly because Proteus is interesting to read. The finale to Rogue and Gambit was great too; I now understand why people love that pair so much. Infinity Countdown #3 finally feels like its picking up, and it's the first issue since Prime that made me excited for the next one. Exiles #2 convinced me to follow Exiles. I wasn't sure about it after #1, but after reading this one it seems like it'll be a fun adventure with a lot of potential for inventiveness. Valkyrie's Norse speech contrasted with Wolvie's quest for the pies that Magneto stole was so well done.• Scales and Scoundrels #9 probably takes the cake for the last three weeks. It's a almost completely silent issue that keeps you from breezing through it. It honestly felt peaceful to read it. Alright, PULL LIST FOR THE LAST THREE WEEKS! FINALLY Sword of Ages #3 comes out. I love this one because of the world behind it. It feels populated and alive...lived in. I think my favorite this week was X-Men Red. In this comic, Jean Grey and her team are out to reconcile the mutant race with humankind, and have to face destructive prejudices in the process. It's very relevant to today's world with great art and writing. Marvel and DC are coming out with a bunch of new #1s over the next couple months, and Exiles and The Immortal Men are two of them. The Immortal Men is the "the untold story of the DC Universe", which will be interesting because I don't know the told history of the DC Universe. In Exiles, the mutant Blink is sent to save the multiverse with a band of heroes from different realities. Should be fun! I had an unusually large pull list this week, for me at least. There's so much I'm excited about! All-New Wolverine is starting it's final arc before Laura goes back under the X-23 title. I have Strong Feelings about that, but we'll get back to that later. I'm excited for what Old Woman Laura adds to the mythos. • Green Lanterns is starting a new arc as well. The green lantern ring chose Jessica Cruz because she has the ability to overcome great fear, and part of her growth has been learning that courage means acting despite fear, not without it. I get the sense that this arc will explore her struggle with anxiety even more, and I'm interested in how that pans out. • I'm excited every time a new issue of Elsewhere comes out. The premise is that Amelia Earhart disappeared into an alternate dimension and she has to find her way back. So that's pretty great. • Isola is brand new! I don't know much about it to be honest, but I like the art! Listening to Worship Like We Used To by @unclereece || I used to go outside and write what I saw. I would just stand in one place and pay close attention to the sights, smells and sounds around me, turning rocks around in my hand and brushing along plants. I would finish with pages of notes where I recorded everything from the color of the sky to the number of spots on the ladybug that landed next to me. It was how I worshipped God with my creativity. Lately, I've been writing with intention of making it a career, and it's been amazing growing in my gifts and passions.
