hey, i wanted you to know that Viv person that went @ you is really ableist. I know some are taking her side but she's made this comment about your NPD and is overall extremely condescending and does think she's better than others without knowing it. i assume you've seen, but her claiming acting priesthood on disc, "actually understanding the faith", and putting her knowledge above others is pretty par for the course. anyone going against you should know this about her. proof (can't send anon ss): https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1366290587182956574/1366640125869690984/IMG_0907.png?ex=6811ae4c&is=68105ccc&hm=3ba5a5ced4560e812903d6ee248a989a711f50c69e667f203b0f0f226962ec9e&=&format=webp&quality=lossless&width=688&height=600

Hellenic Nekromanteion Ritual
This is a ritual based off of the historical accounts and known facts about the Nekromanteion practices. It is not the end all be all, rather a suggested route to go about doing it. Going in with another, more experienced person is recommended, because you will need someone to constantly be chanting and invoking the dead if possible, but also because it’s good to have a backup in case something goes wrong. Here are the steps I have created in the efforts of helping you and myself. What you’ll need: ♠ Three bloodless offerings ♠ A black sheep image ♠ Broad beans, pork, barley bread, or oysters to eat ♠ Khernips ♠ Prayers ♠ Invocations to the Dead
Step one: Cleanse yourself of miasma and pray to the gods. Ask for guidance and protection, and a blessing over you so that you may hear the voices of the dead and understand what they say. Pray to whomever you desire, some ideas include Zeus for protection, Haides for a clear view into the realm of the dead, and Okeanos for cleansing.
Step Two: Go into a pitch black room and eat the food of the dead. It is often recommended to eat things like pork, broad beans, oysters, and barley bread. (1)
Step Three: Stay in a dark room and begin to meditate. Think about what you want to learn from the dead, and specifically how you will be getting the information.
Step Four: Enter the place you will be conducting the ritual. Offer the sheep figure, and recite a hymn to Haides and Persephone.
Step Five: If you’re not with another person who will be reciting invocations to the dead, then turn on a recording of such chants. Have them recite a few and then make your first offering. Ask Haides to bring you closer to the dead, and visualize yourself passing through a gate. You have crossed the first gate of Haides. Repeats this process with the three gates, giving your biggest offering last.
Step Six: Await the dead, listen for their voices, and watch for any movement. Allow yourself to hear them, whether physically or within your mind. Remember all you hear and close down the ritual. Command all of the dead to leave for now, and thank them for their time. Do this even if you do nor hear anything.
Step Seven: For three days, focus on purifying yourself. If possible, visit sacred places such as oceans or springs. Cleanse yourself with khernips and send up prayers to the gods each day for cleansing.

I think its time to stop putting your head canons onto the gods or Heros that you worship.
I understand looking to the gods for comfort, but please remember they are ancient beings, with multiple variations of myths and cult practices. Aphrodite doesn't only love Ares, she's seen with other gods like Hermes, Apollo and Hermes are not gay for eachother in the ways it's seen, and lastly not everyone see Achilles and Patroclus as gay. (SOME stories have Achilles marrying Helen or MEDEA in death)

This is very random, but over the past couple days I've been having an overwhelming amount of "hellenic pagan" blogs popping up, and 99% of them are either run by minors promoting themselves as religious authorities, or full of blatant misinformation on topics they haven't researched. The other 1% is both of these at once, and I was beginning to lose my mind going on a block spree when I somehow stumbled across your blog.
It is so very refreshing to finally see someone writing posts with critical thinking skills, research, and normal fucking takes 😂 Please keep doing what you're doing because I was starting to just lose faith in the hellenic community on tumblr. I highly respect what you're doing!

There are a lot of Hellenicpolytheists being cancled and / or deleting their accounts on tiktok- oh how Zeus Xenia kicks out the unwelcome or Huburistic is wonderful.
In all honesty anyone who spreads things as being THEIR WAY or no way is not very hospital and or caring. Unless you specialized in anthropology of civil and locality worship and know everything about every places beliefs and ideologies- you can't say something doesn't exist or is the ONLY true way.
Be hospital, be kind and be charitable. Everyone is different and that's what made/makes helpol beautiful.

When people call themselves a gods favorite, it is the biggest ick. I don't care how much research you do. Calling your self a gods favorite especially when they have a partner is....off putting to say the least. You need an ego check.

Using Hermes as an excuse to steal is not okay.
"Oh Hermes made me do this." No stfu.
Sure, hermes is the God of thieves, but he also does the exact opposite, too. If you're stealing from a small mom and pop shop...you're just an asshole. It's not cool to steal, Hermes also respects the law and moral conduct. Don't get yourself in trouble, then you're entering the law domain. Hermes isn't gonna teach you to be stupid is all I'm saying tbh.

Keep your eye out in the next year for the announcement! Everything (mostly) in it so far has been posted on my patreon here.

Just a P.S.A.....
Just because you pull a tarot card that may represent a deity, it doesn't mean that, that being is there. I see this happen way too much, especially among younger people new to divination, deity work and ID's.
Use discernment, learn the religion, and go slow.
I don't care how you do you're craft, of course, you're going to be excited, but remember to take it slow. Yes, deities will want to meet you, but deities aren't going to be coming in and out of your room every minute. Vetting, understanding deities (not myths), and knowing how to use discernment is important. I've had multiple people come to my shop to ask for an ID for a deity they are dead set on yet they end up actually with a roman or kemetic deity, both whom the person didn't even know. It's so important to remember to call out to deities and know that usually they won't randomly come in if they know you can not ID or understand them correctly.
It's also about RECIPRICOL RELATIONS. Gods don't owe you anything. They aren't here to entertain you just because you're bored and want attention, unleas theyre messijg with you for their own enjoyment.

I love me some good PGM spells. You guys should follow their paetron if you want to learn how or learn more. You won't regret it!
The Stele of Aphrodite : an Ancient Greek Love Charm ☆💗☆
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Many love spells in the ancient world, particularly in the PGM are that of what are known as fetching charms, or binding spells: love spells targeting specific people. However, there are a number of more generalized love spells, ones with no particular target, such as the Stele of Aphrodite.
The Stele of Aphrodite is Greek Magical Papyri (PGM) spell number IV. 1265-74, and dates back to the late Hellenic period of ancient Greece. It was used primarily for love magic, specifically to invoke the favor and obsession of a desired individual, as well as for favor and success within friendship, popularity and beauty. The stele was believed to harness the power of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, to sway the emotions and actions of whoever sees you in favor of the practitioner.

Hi! I see youre oath sworn to King Zeus and Queen Hera. There’s not a ton of conversation about them in the helpol community so I was wondering if you’d be willing to talk about your relationship with them at all?
Yessss!! Of course!!
So to say it in a more clear way, Zeus and Hera are my life haha. They're very important to me and if you may recall one of the delphic maxims is "do not make oaths" because breaking an Oath is extremely bad and punishable. So for me it took a while to even consider it. Like...two years until they gave me the biggest sign ever.
Get ready for a ramble but I love talking about this because it brings up great memories and a great feeling of kharis
I've been a polytheist for...give or take nine plus years. I've never hated Zeus or Poseidon as I never believed the myths. I always really felt connected to them both and, of course, Hera. (I had to dress up as her in school, haha), so there has been a lot of worship there and connection. After my first trip to Greece I felt an extremely hard pull to Zeus and Hera in terms of greater devotion, which after a mountain hike ontop of Mount Ochi and seeing an eagle...I really was able to confirm my suspicion. I got readings and did my own ancient divination and got a lot of support from larger creators. With this, I began my journey as a, some people call it "godspouse." I prefer oathsworn though....it's more telling of what it is and overall shows what you do.
Fast forward end of 2022 I ended up being in my second year of my history major and final year of my Biology minor when I decided to go to Greece and study again, this time for Ancient History and Culture. I recently switched to History major in honor of Zeus and Hera after I got home from my first trip to Greece. After making my promise to Zeus and asking for a clear sign, I ended up getting into a huge programs that gave me multiple opportunities, and with that, I then traveled abroad for three months all over Greece. I finally ended up studying on Rhodos, which had a beautiful temple to Zeus-Poleius and Athena. That is where I made my vow on the second to last day of my trip. He fulfilled his promise, so I did mine. My vow isn't anything too crazy in a sense of "godspousal" it is more of a promise to the King and Queen of the gods thay I will continue my education, research and overall love for them throughout my life. I just am very deeply connected to them throughout my life choices and I hope to help others feel just as connected to them as I do.
About them:
Zeus and Hera are...old beings. Now they may not be the original King and Queen of the proto Greek myceanean religion, but they became prominent over time, more promiwnt over Poseidon and his consort Demeter/Eyrins (damata) . (I study proto greek religion shiz lol) Together Zeus and Hera show all sides of marriage, Zeus having more so sides showing the completion meanwhile Hera shows all the sides of female journey before, through, and after. It's a very good dynamic but also shows the dynamic of ancient times and the need in their concept of marriage (Athenian law for women goes CRAZY) for example certain epithets of Zeus weren't worshipped all around greece because of city states. But together, Zeus and Hera give a sense of security, home, guidance, feelings of worth, and overall just make you feel seen. Regardless of your stance as a "watcher" (non theist), a worshipper or a devotee who wants them to be in their home forever, it doesn't matter to them. They love everyone, they try to find the good in everyone and in general, they just want what is best for humanity. They give off very Maternal and Paternal vibes and advice, I've seen a lot of people be afraid of Zeus and Hera but honestly there is no reason to be if we look in anything besides the myths. They're very loving and deserve a whole heck of a lot more attention than they have.
Thanks for this question!!
With much love,
X.S 🌊

Just because you do deity work doesn't mean you don't need to do offerings/ worship.
Sometimes worship and work have little to no difference, so you have to worship. However, I understand it can be hard, but hellenic polytheism is reciprocal in nature. You can't just randomly chat with a god or pray to one and then not give an offering of anything kind back.

How can you be a Hellenic polytheist and say,
"Wow, I hate Zeus and his family"
Who tf are you worshipping then...who?
Zeus is not who people think he is. He and Hera used to be the model of a marriage. Hera was a patron for each aspect of marriage: widow, married, pre marriage, you name it, and she ruled over it. Zeus was the male who ruled over the completed marriage and mens role on society. Women were meant to married in Athens, Men were meant to be apart of society and so together, Hera and Zeus back then represented a complete marriage, which sadly proposed a complex stigmatized view in today's day and age. The cheating wasn't cheating. It was Greece using their grasp to create descriptions on why certain people places and ideas belonged to them. As you can see in myths, people call Poseidon and Zeus cheaters, yet they both were kings, and both of them had to help Greece and Proto Greece stake their claims over places they wanted or did dominate. It's like a modern day bragging almost....
So no, hating Zeus is dumb. It means you can't leave behind a view of a deity that is wrong, misused, and battering to a religion. How can you call yourself a Hellenic polythiest if you don't respect the views of its main god?
