Question for anyone who sees this;

I absolutely love @adeepindigo 's mods. I have almost all of them in my game. The problem, though? They are a pain in the ass to update. I don't know what it is about her patreon, but her links to mods she updates doesn't work for me. They just bring me back to her patreon in a never-ending loop. That means I have to continuously scroll through ALL of her patreon posts in order to redownload each individual mod I use from her.

So, I attempt to use her new itch.io site and it's the same issue. Hitting download doesn't work. Just brings me back to the home page. It is driving me absolutely bonkers! I've even used different web browsers to see if it's something going on on my end, but it's the same issue. I have additionally tried to check my settings in my browsers and set it so there is no blockage from popups or whatever and that didn't work either. I also have googled this issue extensively and there are a few people having the same issue, but their 'solution' is very vague, so I can't repeat whatever they might have done to get it to work.

If anyone has a solution to this issue that they might have figured out, please, PLEASE save me from this torment! Lol. I can't live without these fantastic, irreplaceable mods in my game.

Has anyone ever watched a Sims 4 let's play on Youtube with the captions on? They are hilarious!

I'm currently watching @aashwarr 's Discovery University series, the episode with Camille and Tasha's art museum date, and the captions suddenly picked up from their simlish "Yay boobs". Lmao! I never snort laughed so loud before..

This is dedicated to all the modders! The last couple of weeks have been rough to say the least and most of them are working around the clock to update for our game play, and putting up with a lot of players bullsh*t behavior.

If you end up getting the “app is up to date” when attempting this, here’s another thing that worked for me, too. If the app is giving you issues, press Ctrl Alt Delete to pull up the task manager, scroll down to EA Background Service, right click and end task. Once you do that, completely exit the app and start it up again. It should work. Hopefully this helps!

So, if you go to your PC, Program Files, Electronic Arts, Electronic Arts Desktop and then scroll down to EA updater exe and double click on it, it will force the app to update itself. Once it’s done, usually the issue where it acts like you don’t own anything in your game library, or the 500 error or the unable to play game issues should be solved. At least, it does for me and I’ve had to do it twice, now. 

Feel free to tag me/reblog this post to see if it works for you, too, so that others having this problem can have a temporary fix for this until EA gets their shit together with this broken app. Hopefully, it will help a lot of players.

Some screenshots of my game’s functional zoo I’m trying to set up.

I believe I finally have it functioning like a community lot, thanks to the More Visitors lot trait by littlemssam. The build is not my own creation, nor are all these gorgeous animals that I downloaded from both @pugownedplaysthesims-blog and @kalino-thesims. I didn’t get a chance to catch a shot of the zebra habitat, but they look amazing thanks to Kalino’s pet cc! It took so long to figure out all the mods necessary to make this work, but currently on my zoo lot, which is a residential and run by two Zookeepers that I’ve actually grown quite fond of during testing, are three adult tigers, one male, two female, as well as two tiger cubs, Three adult wolves and three wolf cubs, two red pandas, three koalas, a mother bear and a baby bear and two adult zebras, each in their own little habitats. I also have the little aquarium exhibit with frogs and fish. A little bit ago I ended up downloaded some @bakiegaming animations and I’m seeing where I might be able to place them. 

I can’t even tell you guys how excited I am! It all looks so life-like with all the animals playing or snoozing or swimming in their areas together. I am so in love! So far, all of the animals have stayed locked in their pens, even while leaving. Hopefully that will continue to be the case. Lol. I wish there was a way to prevent npc sims from traveling off lot with the pets. That’s the only thing that worries me. 

There’s also a mod outside of the zoo by @kawaiistacie that actually creates a rabbit hole zoo with a sign, too, just in case I don’t feel like having my sims run through it all manually. Lol. 

I can’t wait to send Pandora over there!

Pandora ambitiously pushes forward.

Thank goodness for the mod that changes your work hours to suit your sim’s needs. I was having such a hard time trying to figure out a way for Pandora to earn her the needed technical degree while still working full time without cheats. Plus, I’m kind of enjoying going to work at night. I think it might even help the plant issues that usually occur at the lab. (Seriously.. what is up with that gardening bug when you’re not on the lot, so it refuses to grow and seems to reset the next time you show up?!)

Anyway, Pandora spends her weekdays from 3:00 pm - 4:30pm in Physics class, then 6:00pm to 12:00am at work, then has her weekends free to get mischievous. It sounds tough, but it’s actually very doable. The only issue is with the mods I have installed to make careers have more realistic pay, it’s definitely getting kind of tight financially. I have to have her sell all the metals and crystals she finds at work to make it by. xD

I’ve finally got my game all updated and modded again. This new laptop is absolutely AMAZING! I’ve never been able to run Sims 4 on my desktop as wonderfully as this baby has handled the game!

So, I know I’ve started this a couple of times, but we are going to try and stick with this now that I’ve got myself a laptop to play on whenever, wherever! And, yes, I’m completely unoriginal and using Pandora for my minty scientist again.. because I damn well can, mkay?!

I am also aware that the first gen is meant to be Materialistic, Jealous and a Vegetarian, HOWEVER! I have this amazing mod called Better Sims that makes the vegetarian trait a hidden trait rather than a main one. It’s an ENTIRE rework fo the system and I’m really enjoying the gameplay aspect of it. So, anyway.. I figured I could get away with making our mischievious Pandora a genius, as well, since, you know.. mad scientists often are. 

You’re going to see a lot of realistic mods in my gameplay and I will be mentioning things casually as Pandora’s journey continues. If you have any questions about any of the random shenanigans you might notice, please don’t hesitate to shoot me an ask.

Ya girl has had some bad luck...

So, my computer recently began making some scary.. electrical kind of sounds.. when on? Yeah.. I don't know. Lol. I had to send it in for some repairs, stat! This is not too ideal considering that I've already had some issues; I had to start my challenge over once and then the second time, the save became corrupted. I also had JUST got my mods all updated and situated again.. ugh!

I might be tantruming just a tad.. but I can't even deal with this same challenge again. Lol. I'm sorry. I am just so annoyed with it. 😤

While my desktop tower is being worked on, I have considered the idea of a gaming laptop again. I have ALWAYS wished that Sims could be played while my kids are in bed. Sitting in a chair, sometimes for hours, usually in a hunched position.. is super uncomfortable.. and I feel guilty spending a lot of time hunting down mods, creating in cas, playing the game, editing screenshots while my kids are needing things every ten minutes. As they will, they are kids, after all.

Sooooo.. I made a big, spontaneous purchase, finally settling on an Acer Nitro 5. It's overkill, even for Sims all modded out. Lol. But if I am gonna go big, might as well make sure I cover all my bases with it. I am SO excited! It cannot get here fast enough! I won't even let the idea that I'll have to redownload EVERYTHING over again get me down!

I know I've tried it before, but realizing why and how I gave up... I want to do the NSB challenge again. It's such a fun time and I have some actions to help me be a lazy bish at editing my screenshots this time, so I am so ready!

I lied..

I lied so damn hard.

Soooo... I can’t handle the ugly. Lmao! I just can’t. But I found a decent, simple alternative to photoshop. It’s called Photopea. I’ve got a bunch of templates and some actions and ... yeah.. 

I’ll try to keep things simple, but I just couldn’t stand not having a blurred background.. and shit was so dark. xD

Also.. I need structure. I just do. I have no idea why, but having too much freedom just overwhelms the hell out of me. So, I found the Whimsy Challenge while scrolling along on Tumblr and.. I am pretty excited to check it out. It’s still got the rags to riches aspect to it, but with more structure to work with.

Sorry to Kinley.. I’m not sure I’ll be hanging on to her for this. We’ll see. 

You guys already know my wishy-washy ass.. so I’m not gonna bother to apologize. Haha.

Little Heart Goes Pitter Patter.

And then.. Elijah drops in on the library.

Sitting right next to her and immediately engaging Kinley into conversation, Elijah steals all of her attention from skill building and homelessness. Was this guy for real? He had everything she was looking for in a sim. Smart, funny, cute, family oriented... single.

He told her he was a chef at a local restaurant, but what he really wanted to do was go to school to become an engineer or maybe an astronaut. He just had to save up the money for school. 

Kinley knew all about the struggle, but she was a little too embarrassed to relate to him quite yet. Let’s just keep our hobo status on the DL for now...

By the end of the conversation, Elijah admitted that Kinley was fun to be around and that he really enjoyed her company. With a blush, Kinley agreed when he asked if she felt the same way. 

Oh, no... things are about to get really complicated, aren’t they?

What is up with this guy?

Kinley has no idea why this guy is so interested in her. His first impressions of her weren’t even great. Maybe it was because she was avoiding his stalker phone calls (Seriously, how did he pick up her number?) or making zero effort to return his enthusiasm. But here we are, at the same library to practice our Logic skill.. and he’s checking her out again. Does he really think the sunglasses disguise his creepy ass?
