This is my current big and most important project! We need funds to help bring my wife permanently to Canada, starting wtih $1290 to put in the spousal immigration paperwork. Every penny adds up, so please share and donate if you can. It's been far too long apart, and things don't look great in the US for people like us.
Please help if you can. We just want to be together again.

Notes to self, but also yes!
Oddly specific kinds of fanart I am ALWAYS a slut for
1. Stained glass window/church murals of characters
2. In-universe magazine covers
3. Redraws of scenes from canon in the style of a real Netflix show or video game
4. Drawing characters with way cooler outfits than they have in canon for the sake of cool outfits
5. Character design breaking down each layer and piece of a character's outfit
6. Mimicking historical art styles (e.g. vintage posters, Victorian portraits)
7. Sprawling landscape paintings of the setting that you can barely even tell is fanart because its just a beautiful landscape

Saving for myself!
btw I’ve found these stretches from the WAK blog very helpful when knitting a lot:
Plus make sure to take breaks regularly - and stop if anything starts to hurt!
especially with gift knitting I know it can be tempting to push through it for a deadline, but it’s really not worth causing long term injury. (And anyone knit-worthy should be understanding of that, imho.) Stay well :)

I'm obsessed with carousels! We visited the Herschell museum back in the 90s, and it was amazing!

This is so visceral. I've walked in corn monoculture fields and it's creepy as fuck, even in midday. I bolted for safety and a leaf cut across my throat just enough to be scary. I did not return to the corn field. Thanks for the warning.
Wheat fields are more mystical than fields of other crops. You are 7,000 times more likely to meet an old god or see a portent of doom in a wheat field than in a field of like… soybeans.

Good to know.
Huge thank you to Squarespace for fucking automatically opting peoples' websites in to let AI train on our site's data without letting us know. Real cool.

I feel this to the core. It's hard. And I'm still here.
Ya know when people told me "when you're finally safe enough that you can leave survival mode and start to let go of and process your c-ptsd/trauma things are probably going to get really, really bad before they slowly start to get better" I thought that was reasonable. I did not understand that by "things are going to get bad" they meant "you're going to find yourself in the worst mental state of your entire life, but dw, that means it's working" and tbh I simply wish someone had been more clear.

Adopting a gratitude practice and mindset saved my life. It wasn't fast, but it slowly helped change my perspective to looking for the good things, and it pulled me out of depression enough that I was then able to seek help. Your mileage may vary.
Positivity is literally my 34th strength on a list of 34, so this doesn't come easy. It's work. Some days it's really hard work.
Today, I am grateful to have lived through my stroke last year. I'm grateful for family and friends. I'm grateful for Pixie, my best little buddy. Im grateful that THS made it affordable to get Pasha and Purrsy fixed so I can keep them in our furrever family. I'm grateful for all I have, even if it isn't perfect. I'm in a position now to work myself up from this baseline, and I am. Slowly but surely.
Happy holidays, whatever you celebrate!
This Yule, I'm celebrating the return of the light in so many ways.
