Tonight: Episode 60

With the real Marius rejoining them and explaining what happened while he was gone, the heroes continued on, this time led by their tiefling companion to a base on the outskirts of the occupied city. A Resistance force, captained by none other than Lathiel's own Tiran Lystaros, sat headquartered there.

Learning the situation within and without, the heroes rested before infiltrating the city itself. The outlook is bleak; the once-lively and bustling city is dark and silent. The reanimate dead march the streets, and homes are marked for collection.

Soli recalled a tavern closer to the city center that may be easier to strike out at Alistair from. However... It, like the rest of the city, is occupied by the undead.

Tonight: Episode 59

The mysterious Knight sent to the party by Siegfried, Vaila, led the way out of the city and towards Lathiel. She knew them, but they knew little of her. A concern she readily addressed as they trekked toward the occupied city: As Shadowguard, she has been keeping tabs on many happenings and people. Including the Heroes of Vaeleryn.

It wasn't till camping for the day that she truly explained herself and her stakes in this mission: She's family, and wants Alistair destroyed. Gael's distant aunt has joined the party.

Continuing to Lathiel, the party reunited with... Marius...? Or so they thought, until Marius came rushing into the fray and laid the fatal blow upon "himself". A changeling masquerading as him, besmirching his good name!

Tonight: Episode 58

In the wake of their pyrrhic victory in breaking the siege of Tol'Minith, the remaining members of the party returned to the city with the aid of High Commander Siegfried. With naught to do but rest and recover from the siege-breaking, each one went off -or were ushered- to their own devices.

The following day saw the heroes meeting back up with the Grim Knights' leadership, and receiving dark news: the body of Lt. Falke, mired in a curse that resists any attempt to cleanse or break it, has limited time before she joins the Night's Court. Even now, it falls to the party to take up the dire task of facing Alistair. Except Caspian, who, grateful for Gael's sacrifice, has the chance to return to home and family.

They wouldn't be without aid; Siegfried sent them another of his Knights. One with experience regarding their vampiric foe: Knight Vaila Fowler.

With a slightly heated exchange between two members of the party, the night moved on and brought the next day's task to light:

To go behind enemy lines, take down necromancers controlling swaths of undead, scramble and harry the enemy forces, and, perchance, to deal a decisive blow to the vampire general. All to give the mortal soldiers of Vaeleryn a fighting chance against the undead.

A task that they were considered more than capable of handling, as they set out from the tunnels under the old Bravin' Raven tavern. And capable they proved, as two necromancers and their camps were felled readily and without alerting the Morvainean general.
