🪰 The official OOC (out of character) blog intro! 🪰

What this blog is for:

This is a side blog I dedicate to roleplaying as the “official” Seth Brundle (played by Jeff Goldblum) from The Fly 1986. Basically if he had a Tumblr the entire time shit was going down. If you have not seen this movie it is highly recommended that you watch it for context, although it has many TWs for blood, gore, body horror, sex, violence, etc. And to those who have seen the movie, are you ready to dive into the plasma pool?

My headcanons:

This is just a small disclaimer that everyone will view Seth differently, and although I will try to keep him as canon as possible when I am in-character, I am going to state the headcanons that I have for him because they will influence his interactions/dialog. If you do not personally agree or like these headcanons, just move on or make your own weird roleplaying account.

- This is less of a disclaimer and more just being in character but Seth is probably SUPER tech illiterate since the movie takes place in 1986. He doesn’t know how to use tone tags or correct acronyms and he is def not caught up to speed with memes and other internet culture.

- I view Seth as demisexual and heteroromantic. This means that he is not interested in you like that so please refrain from overtly NSFW questions or interactions. I am willing to excuse this if it is for anatomical purposes (like asking about his body mid-transformation).

- I believe Seth needs assistance to see but he chooses to wear contacts instead of glasses since he is insecure about them. This isn’t based in any canon but I think it fits his vibes so whatever.

- I think Seth either has autism, ADHD or both. I understand that he can just be written off as “quirky” but as someone with auDHD he is definitely signalling some kind of neurodivergent detector in my head.

- Seth definitely comes across as an atheist as he has no fear of god or “messing with something that humans weren’t mean to.” He also comes across as very scientific and literal so I doubt he would believe in any scripture or practices.

A guide to using the AMA box:

I wanted to add a bunch of versatility to my ask box beyond just asking Seth something and/or interacting with him, so I’m going to include some extras that you can use to get into more specifics. This is also to prevent me from getting bored or burnt out.

- you can ask for a specific version of Seth by clarifying whether it’s pre-teleport, early transformation, mid transformation, or late transformation.

- you can ask for Veronica or Stathis to answer the question with him (I may make separate blogs for them).

- you can type *sprays him with water* to let me know if I’m acting too out of character. Also it’s just funny to do so.
