CHIIKAWA POSTER!!!! Chiikawa poster for my wall!

Does this have a deeper meaning past the fact that I wanted to draw all the Chiikawa monsters I liked the most? Nope. I am simply very fond of whatever Momonga and Dekatsuyo have going on. They're just silly little guys!

My favorite character is Rakko. Because they are unbelievably funny to me. Of course they are going to battle monsters and then take their silly little car to get sweets as a reward, they deserve it.

This spread is really mostly doodles and unfinished concepts! Chiikawa, tamagotchi, and a burger made of a frog for some reason.

The image on the right isn't done at all, but it lives in my sketchbook so that's alright.

Uh oh, Pressure fanart and perhaps an OC.

Sebastian design :) There was no real prompting for this other than wanting to give him that funky shark jaw thing and this just kinda sprouted from it.

No name yet, no title, just a rough concept that's been rattling around in my head since I caught onto Pressure.

Unlike Sebastian who's testing (at least at the beginning) had a final goal, they're an experiment basically built as a general catch-all test. I imagine they're not the only one who's going through this, and it's to see how accurately the scientists can produce specific, target traits on adult, mammilian subjects and associate them with identifiers. Think the glow-in-the-dark cats being given bioluminescence to denote they had the anti-FIV gene (look it up!!! Very interesting!) except instead of it being for a good reason done on cat fetuses, it's being run by people just to see if they can on adult people and a few other lab critters. The "goal" is more a front just to commit human rights violations.

You may notice that they're a little strange looking for an experiment aiming to make a sea critter, and that's because they're not finished! I'd like to imagine the lockdown occurred in the middle of their "tests," so their main body plan is still concerningly, unnervingly human. They still have arms and legs, and can technically walk upright if they ignore the pain in the soles of their feet. It's also becoming a little uncomfortable to hold their head the "right" way for bipedal walking due to it extending strangely. Not to mention its getting harder to talk for a ton of reasons, plus they're always itchy, then their insides hurt. Just assume that this person is... not having a good day most days.

They were a person, and now they're a little angry sea lizard designed for high visibility (under the right conditions) and speed. You will absolutely see them coming, but that does not mean you will get away.

Not much to say here! I am... enjoying work, I guess? I deal in animal care, and let's just say I've scored some work where I get to interact with a ton of non-domestic critters. I wish it was something I could share pictures of because the current babies are SO cute, but its not exactly the best environment for it lol. Maybe expect some irl animal centric spreads?

Some overflow sketches from my last spread and some Pokemon doodles!

I'm still working my way through Sword/Shield and let's just say that I was very confused when I got my Toxel (baby pokemon. That is just a purple baby right there. One of his attack animations is him throwing a tantrum that is a toddler). Don't get me wrong, he is cute and a permanent part of my team now for the whole game, but. I can't not laugh at throwing a baby at any variety of barely domesticated beast. Go get them baby, beat them up.

Also, I am haunted by science. Can't even escape studying in my dreams. Legitimately woke myself up by mumbling something about the theoretical process of making a carboxylic acid from an alkene. More than one night. In a row. Tormented by chemistry, I tell you.

Baby bird season is incoming and I’d like to remind everyone that birds do not have a significant sense of smell. Bird parents will not reject birdlets because you have handled them.

If you see smol birbs with few or no feathers on the ground, you can safely put them back into their nest, bird parents will still care for them.

If you see smol birbs with some or most feathers on the ground, please leave them there, as bird parents are probably nearby watching and feeding.

Journaling sketchbook spread and two little birds.

Left side of the spread is cutouts from my planner and class notes, right side is my annual/bi-annual tradition of thinking back on the past year as marked by the shift between semesters.

And then two baby birds! These are little doves!

I was watching some crows and blue jay fight over something (I had thought the crow got too close to the blue jay nest?) and then the little dove basically got dropped on my head. (Only one baby bird was dropped.) Little stinker had a full crop and was safely transported to a wildlife rescue. Get home, let my dog out, look down at my dog, boom. Second dove in his mouth. Little guy was OK! I just had to make another trip to the rescue lol.

Left side is my standard Journaling. Recently went though a fun little allergy test that involved potential allergens being taped to my back for several days on end. Yippe. Obligatory hellmo because the results didn't give any answers.

Right side, Pressure! Inescapable underwater location horror, my beloved. I love the fish. Did I make Sebastian uncharacteristically scary? Yes. Do I care? No. You cannot tell me that this man would be clean and put together and not at all injured after taking over a whole, basically military operation.

Half of this one was for a school project. The little microbe guy was for my part of a pretty large informational video on how a particular virus spreads and how to stop it. I had to make a dating app commercial. For a virus.

Back at it with another packed sketchbook spread.

I got to do a Magic: The Gathering "practice draft"(?) with some friends! Dominaria United. And I lost hard. I really just went to open packs, though. The box topper ended up being a 12-cent card, haha.

Also, need to highlight how much of a grade-a idiot I am because this experience from LAST YEAR is STILL rattling me. We were studying for GENETICS at the time. I had *extracted DNA* earlier that day. But yes. Of course my friend is taking farmaceuticals. I wish I was in farm class. I wonder how to register for that. Oh, to be a little scientist playing with cows :( to which they gently had to tell me "What are you going on about??"

Finally, some stuff for my beloved character Fowler. He has been very stuck in my head and I really, really want to let him out. He's extremely interesting to me, plus he's fun to draw. I was trying to nail down how to make him move more like an owl. I *really* want to hammer in a lot of those slightly-offputting, snappy, wide-eyed movements for his character. Creature.

More Alts!!! For my Magic: The Gathering "Rat Bomb" deck!

Couple of lands, and a few other things here and there. None of these have been thumbnailed or preplanned, so not all of them are homeruns. I do like how sunken hollow turned out, though, and I really enjoyed drawing all of the swamps. :) The main trouble was the color scheming to make sure the mana cost kinda matched the overall color theme of the card.

Left side is where I managed to collect a few of my parrotlet's dropped feathers and glued them into my sketchbook! It's not actually that often where he dropps his nicer feathers in good quality, so I took the chance to collect them as a keepsake while I have the chance.

Next page we have a colored journal!

Went to a HUGE arcade a while back and had a blast. Pinball is one of my favorite things (even though I'm actual trash at it) and this place had a TON of cabinets of all ages. The "simplistic" ones from the 60s are a personal favorite of mine.

They also had a massive amount of rhythm games. Extremely loud rhythm games. That only got loud when you interacted with them. I got the piss scared out of me by Sans Undertale popping up and blasting Megalovania on a machine that otherwise boasted some... very well endowed(?) anime characters. I also had a blast playing these, although I made the mental note I'd need to bring along a pair of headphones for the next visit to not attack every nonconsenting individual within a three mile radius with Bonetrousle.

This led into a visit with some folks who hadn't seen each other in a few decades. Had a nice sit and listen to some old stories.

Then I got to be victim to one of the most uncomfortable word fumbles I have been witness to in my whole life. "You will have beautiful offspring" (exact wording) from a complete stranger, unprompted. Completely separate questions before hand, no correction afterwards. Brother was being polite but oug h.

Finally a friend of mine got personally offended that I, a fully grown individual, didn't know how to ride a bike and decided it was best to put me on a too-large mountain bike at 10:30 pm in a parking lot. I didn't get to bed until midnight that day.

I may or may not have decided to begin a little challenge of my own. And that is to make custom art cards of my Magic: the Gatheting "rat bomb" commander deck. Oh boy.

The deck was built for me by a good friend and is completely proxy anyways. I never had any plans of actually building it, since im not as into that portion of all this. I do like the art on the cards, so I'll collect where I can (gambling, yippe!), but I'm not shilling $1-$50+ on each card when I could just play it casual with friends on a proxy. But why just play it on a proxy when I could play it with a PRETTY proxy?

As it's commander, it's 100 cards, plus however many tokens I feel like putting together. Since this deck is built off of making as MANY rats as physically possible, I do think it would be VERY funny to just keep pulling out rat tokens. BUT funny comes after fuctional. I need to get the body done before I finish the extra tokens. No time limit, but something to doodle and think about in my free time!

Wick! My commander for this deck! Still a slight WIP just to get rid of some of the fuzz, but it's basically finished and ready to sleeve. I really wanted to highlight the snail part, so he gets to be magicing a snail bomb.

Snail token. Snail token for my Snail bomb. Snail Snail Snail. Big games hate to see him coming, because if I'm left to do my own thing (im quiet and bad at playing = not a threat) I do direct damage to EVERYONE for what his power is when he explodes, and his power is directly related to how many rats I've made. And the deck is BUILT just to make rats. It's all rats.

Oh man two spreads. Courses have been killing me for a while so I haven't had the chance to draw how I'd like. The battery has been LOW.

Uh, but here we have Ribby and Croaks from Cuphead because they are my current favorite. They are frog! Also I can't beat the level. The stupid slot machine keeps killing me right before the final hit.

Then we have the normal doodles. Cured of allergy dots, being allowed to science, and fixing my skate gear to fit my baby-deer-wrists. And then a school project! Meet Birdholomew, the personified H5N1 pictures I had to create for a dating profile. My group was throughly amused.

Ough. Been a second.

This is kinda a repost of the jumalanpelko 100% accurate academic summary comic, but with a few added things! Little doodles to fill out the page.

I also did my hand at a couple of OCs for the comic lol. Id say these two are from a bit of a stinky stage of the cult, and didn't exactly last all that long because She wasn't very happy with how things were leaning.

Guard, a quite old woman here, was a full sun-furred cat at a time when there was a general boom in sun furred kittens. She was not chosen to be a suncat when she was in the prime range for it, though, and instead got tossed into the guarding pool to still serve Her (and to make her folks proud because, well, let's just say her mother wasn't very pleased with not being "allowed to serve the god"). Now, you'd think this boom would lead to even more sun fur and a very prosperous age for the cult, right? God is happy, cult is serving in more ways than one. WRONG! For whatever funny genetic reason, after a few generations of litters, there is an overabundance of little monochrome babies crawling around everywhere, much to everyone's dismay. Even the sun furred cats, now much too old to be suncats, can barely have CALICO kittens.

The god is very upset at this turn of events. She was kinda slurping up the good stuff since there was so much to go around, and now that they're all ugly She's going through kittens like they're skittles. And know damn well that She has tried to infect every sun furred adult at least once. It's like she's throwing a tantrum, jumping from litter to litter after a few months.

At this point, Gaurd (or, well, Senior Gaurd) has been spearheading the suncat care. Since so many kittens have been jumped through, it's been a rough job. Couldn't even hope to train new guards at the rate She was going, and many of the Senior Gaurds have been feeling the effects of grief. Really, who wouldn't? It's upsetting, even if She wills it.

And now we have Suncat. The most sunfurred kitten in a while, even though he is a boy and... oh, wow, that one is missing an eye. Huh. The cult says it's pure luck he was born at such a time, because the chances would be slim to none he would have been allowed to serve Her otherwise. Gaurd treats him as if he could shatter at any moment. He's lasted longer than her past wards already, and she *needs* to make him last until they can get more sun furred kittens born.

Also I got to experience a Big Alergic Reaction. Yippee.
