Happy Earth Day! Here's a doodle of a rusty-patched bumblebee (Bombus affinis, an endangered native bee species in my area) on a rather crude rendition of wild bergamot/bee balm (Monarda fistulosa). I drew it for fun while listening to a seminar about morphological variation in bees.
If you live in the U.S., I would highly encourage you to honor this Earth Day by taking look at and commenting on the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act! The proposition seems to be to remove habitat modification from the meaning of harm, but habitat has proven to be hugely important to the well-being of organisms--especially considering that many organisms are highly dependent on not just specific habitat but other specific species, and thus are extremely vulnerable to their removal. Fun fact: different plants provide different balances of nutrients in their pollen and nectar, much as various foods provide different vitamins and nutrients to us! And their forms often cater to specific kinds of pollinators. It's wild how much diversity is out there and what kinds of functions all the variations serve.
Anyway, enough buzz from me. Bee well!

Alas, I’ve got other things to do as well xD And the thing about this bug is that it’s on the mobile app, not browser as far as I’m aware. I don’t know of a diagnostic/developer tool that would work on the phone app.
I’m going to hazard a guess that the one below is you :P I’ll leave it in my inbox for now in case there’s a way to do something later, but it also had my badge show up. But for whatever it’s worth, when accessing the ask through notifications (as opposed to opening my account’s entire inbox), only this ask shows up and there’s not room to scroll, so my pfp didn’t show up as a secondary icon. So far, I haven’t had any asks be given secondary icons other than mine.
Tumblr media
Okay see now i'm extra curious how this anon bug is working (foynd you from the post :3)
Sorry if this is annoying, but damn tumbler screwd up big time
Haha no worries! I’m admittedly finding this entertaining. I’m sure it’ll get fixed eventually.
It seems to be a problem that shows up when opening the ask inbox on mobile (doesn’t happen on desktop, so far as I’ve seen). Similar to the previous anon, you received my boop paw badge!
Tumblr media
And then you got my pfp as a small secondary icon when I scrolled down and back up, but I forgot to screenshot that before starting this answer draft.
I don’t work with coding much except for some extremely basic stats stuff in the RStudio program, so I couldn’t explain why it does this or how it happens, but my current hypothesis is that the secondary icon is supposed to be of the recipient blog, mostly because that’s the only thing I can think of as having a functional use (namely helping to visually differentiate which blog an ask has been sent to). Perhaps we’ll find out in time~

Aw, thank you! I hope you’re having a good day too!
Fun fact: my inbox first gave you my badge and no secondary icon:

And then when I scrolled down and back up it gave you my icon as well:

I have not sent myself any asks, so I can only speculate on how that happened. Maybe by stealing from private replies? Anyway hi you are Me now.

Wanted to say, thanks for helping test out the issue with anons in the askbox. I apologize in advance if I got the wrong person.
Aw, happy to help! @phantomrose96 did an awesome job realizing and explaining the issue. I just figured my status as a random follower/user put me in a good position to be a test anon for additional data, haha.

Okay now that I've slept I'm gonna ramble about this crossover a little (a lot) more~
The GUNDAMs
GUNDAM stands for General Utility Neural-Directed Assault Machine, because every universe needs the acronym to mean something
other mech suits exist (and Mandos are probably the most notorious engineers/pilots), but GUNDAMs have been specifically developed by the Kaminoans; they contain advancements--primarily a computerized intelligence--that other mechas do not
the GUNDAM systems use Permet (or a SW-named equivalent), a Force-resonant metal that can function like a neural system; each GUNDAM has a Permet core housing the main intelligence, probably built into the cockpit
a GUNDAM's cockpit is very heavily reinforced and nigh impenetrable when closed (GUNDAM very safe place for Jedi perfect for Jedi place Jedi in GUNDAM please)
according to the Kaminoans, each computerized intelligence is based on copies of the same core, which are then developed for their roles through experiential learning
GUND-Bits are the little semi-autonomous parts that can break off from the main GUNDAM to shoot or shield, though some can also combine with a flight pack or blaster to boost its power; in this universe, the GUND-Bits have their own computerized intelligence so they can continue to function if connection the main GUNDAM is interrupted, though they primarily follow the main mech's directives
Commander Class (CC) GUNDAMs are designed to command many GUND-Bits and possibly also semi-autonomous mechs; they're a small army unto themselves and can defend or lay siege to a place equally well; taking out all the GUND-Bits will put them at a disadvantage, but they're still a bit faster than the average non-GUNDAM mobile suit
Advanced Recon Class (ARC) GUNDAMs are highly offensive builds geared toward speed and maneuverability; they might have a couple GUND-Bits but not many, as most of their processing power is dedicated towards rapid reaction times and accurate/predictive targeting
other models analogous to ARFs and heavy infantry and whatnot exist, but I haven't thought about details for them; a basic trooper model might also exist, but I haven't decided whether they'd be fully piloted GUNDAMs or mostly autonomous mechs that respond to a GUNDAMs orders, and I think the GUND-Bits are more likely analogous to the rank-and-file troopers because these big mechs are expensive to produce
I do think it would be fun if the GUNDAMs had little scout drones (kinda like the Haros from Mobile Suit GUNDAM) that could accompany the Jedi to places where a giant mech isn't appropriate
a GUNDAM could technically function on its own, but it's legally not allowed to except when given certain orders (like transporting itself to a battlefield or something) and it will generally fight better with a pilot unless that pilot is really bad
another thing I haven't decided is if each computerized intelligence already comes with a separate droid-like name (C0D7, R3X, etc.) or if they just use their mech model number; either way, they still end up using names somehow
The Jedi
the Jedi, as in canon, are naturally skilled pilots and may have an advantage in connecting to the GUNDAMs because Permet is Force-resonant
I don't know if they typically used mechs in any way before this, but maybe so--mechs can have a variety of functions besides warfare
most of them are really creeped out by the GUNDAMs at first because a) they're giant war machines obviously and b) they feel more alive than other machines thanks to the Permet systems and the computerized intelligences that talk to them
many of them favor the beam swords over blasters because, y'know, lightsabers
Misc. Character Details
CC-2224 is very cooperative by default but grows even more proactive with assistance over time, and is notably very good at coming up with arguments for not wasting mechas or GUND-Bits
Obi-Wan is the opposite of thrilled to be piloting a GUNDAM at first, but CC-2224 is very polite and even learns to banter, and Obi-Wan doesn't resent the GUNDAMs despite their purpose; he calls CC-2224's GUND-Bits "ghosts" because of the faint impression they leave in the Force
Anakin on the other hand loves the GUNDAMs; as soon as he gets the chance he starts tinkering, which sets off alarm bells for ARC-7567 at first, but once he actually snaps at Anakin for breaking something Anakin starts being more careful and realizes they need to at least communicate, and soon ARC-7567 grows to enjoy the process and starts suggesting modifications himself; Anakin is assigned a CC model when he's knighted, but he prefers the ARC model and sticks to flying with Rex, who due to experience and the modifications outpaces even later-generation ARCs
I haven't figured out how Ahsoka fits in here, whether she's co-piloting or she and Anakin are switching off between a CC and an ARC or if she's just got an ARC or other model of her own or just a starfighter, or maybe Anakin still likes to use a starfighter sometimes--whatever the case, I want her to still be interacting with Rex at least some of the time
the GUNDAMs (and GUND-Bits) 100% talk to each other privately to share information, ostensibly to learn from each other's experiences
I think that's about all I've got. I'd be delighted to hear anyone else's thoughts!
