I love all Shen Yuan designs, but for the new cover I LOVE how similar Shen Yuan and Shen Qingqiu look. Because while the idea that Shen Yuan can look vastly different (and textually he looks at least different enough that he can pass as someone else as mushrom sy) the idea that they're so similar looking has so much potential.

Obviously Shen Yuan wouldnt see it himself, both because its easier to point out differences to the face he's used to than similarities, and also his ability to perceive anything about himself isnt the best. But to others? He probably looks like a close relative at worst. Just a younger short-haired Shen Qingqiu at best.

Can you imagine Shen Qingqiu finally working up the nerve to show Binghe (though an artifact or dream or system shinanigans) what he used to look like and emphasisng over and over that he knows it'll be a shock and he hopes Binghe won't be too disappointed and then its just. Shen Qingqiu but like 2 inches shorter, with short hair and a hoodie.

One thing I will say for the graphic novel/donghua version of Shen Yuan, that's definitely a case of "looks exactly like Shen Jiu with a hair cut" so the SY is SJ truthers and all the meta theorists who figured they were nearly identical and he was just nitpicking minor differences and/or kinda faceblind can start popping those champagne bottles.

Shen Yuan transmigrates into a widower (demon or cultivator, idc), and immediately sets about using this aspect of his character as a convenient excuse to protect him from being perceived as a threat to one Lord Binghe the Harem-Builder. He commits himself so hard to the bit that people genuinely think he's still in deep mourning for his wife and can never get over her. Luo Binghe falls for The Hot Widower and desperately tries to convince him to open his heart to one more, and see beyond his late wife. His many attempts at wooing only convince Shen Yuan even more that Binghe is testing Shen Yuan's likelihood of attempting to steal Binghe's unethical amount of wives, which pushes him to commit even harder to the bit. He completely ignores the fact that Binghe doesn't even have a girlfriend, let alone a harem. Rinse and repeat until someone dies.

This scene is so funny because the answer to their question is laughably obvious.

So you know how there are some fanfics where moshang get married but Shang Qinghua has no idea it's happening until the day of even though he's the one who planned it? Imagine something like that, but it's Mobei Jun who doesn't realize they're getting married.

Mobei Jun is going around trying to sabotage his arranged wedding plans, disrupt Shang Qinghua's planning, and so whatever he can to prove to Shang Qinghua that he wants to marry him, not some demon hussy all without realizing HE'S ENGAGED TO SHANG QINGHUA WHO IS ACTIVELY PLANNING THEIR WEDDING!

It's so silly stupid and I just think Mobei Jun deserves to be the dumb one every now and then :)

Did a school visit today and asked a group of 8th graders if they could define the term "contemporary art" for me [for context, I work at a contemporary art museum], and one of them said "Is it art that's made with contempt?"

SVSSS AU/fic prompt where Shen Yuan transmigrates as random NPC, and ends up on Cang Qiong Only instead of YQY or SQQ noticing the mini SQQ it's Airplane who notices and realizes second transmigrator and instantly scoops him up because Bro I need company please!

Cue head disciple of An Ding SY, who spends most time roasting Airplane and covering for him when he's with MBJ.

MBJ sees SY who knows about him and ends up misunderstanding that SQH has adopting this child...I shall also adopt this child.

(Also because SY knows all about demonic culture when MBJ tries teaching him MBJ assumes SQH knows all about it)

SY being on a different peak but still trying got help LBH, he sneaks supplies into the woodshed for him, new Manuel, medicine, blankets extra food ect (he keeps raiding the An Ding store rooms and passing everything on to Binghe) even books about the abyss and demonic cultivation.

LBH has no idea where stuff is coming from he occasionally has notes and saves them all, he tries to find them but SY is good at covering tracks. He has got scent and sense of Qi but has never properly met him.

Abyss happens and when LBH shows up to take over North sees SY(whose there with airplane) recognizes QI/scent gets understanding from court and MBJ that SQH has adopted SY, and SQH is engaged to MBJ.

LBH instantly goes from takeover to marriage alliance. I want a marriage alliance with the North.

SQH and SY are confused.... who is LBH going to marry? None of the wives are here right?

Being in a fandom for 20+ years is weird because you’ll see posts like, “How come I never see people mention x” and it’s like. We did. We talked about that a lot, actually.
