Just realized if I make it so you can pick a player character I will probably actually have to make diff scripts for them anyway because I would need to make it change the reaction images too x  x !

Having characters you could choose from would be great, even if there is little-to-no difference in dialogue. It might be easier, though, to just allow the difference to be cosmetic by having several appearance options you could mix and match together and some pronoun changes.

I'm not talented enough to make it so you can build your own character, unfortunately, so they will be set designs if I choose multiple! ;u;

And yes, for pronouns, I will either let you choose the characters which...would be agender, a female, a male, etc. But I will most likely just avoid using pronouns altogether if possible so that you can look like whatever you want to without being forced into a certain gender.

But yeah I will consider making multiple designs to choose from, even if the dialogue won't change! It probably wouldn't be an issue anyway, since considering how many of the characters I plan to include, there will be lots to do without having to switch players!

Yo, questions?

Big question for the game: (Couple questions, really)

1. Would you like to be able to pick a character out of a few different choices? Or would one player character be okay?

2. Would you be alright with these choices having the same dialogue and personality, or would you prefer they all acted different and had different storylines?

This ultimately affects how long it will take me to make the game, but I want some opinions, please!

Also I blacked out the character here! I sort of want that to be a secret so you can't see them yet!!

Anyway I might change the room (unsure) but for now this is the test run of the beginning before you meet everyone and dive into some story and choices and whatever.

WORKING ON STUFF LIKE WHERE THE CHARACTERS RESIDE SINCE I NEED TO PUT THEM IN ONE BIG GENERALLY AREA...

It's some sort of weird au where nothing happened i guess and everyone lives on the same planet

whatever. It's obviously not the canonverse anyway since YOU DON'T GET TO DATE PEOPLE CANONLY.

But yeah man gonna work on individual stories for everyone I think!!! So hopefully everyone will enjoy a different story for each dateable character!....plus I'm most likely going to make how they act be based on how you treat them, so, make sure you keep them happy.

All stuff is subject to change but when it comes to dateable characters so far we have John, Karkat, Nepeta, Eridan, Feferi, Sollux, Kanaya, Vriska, Equius, Tavros, Aradia, Gamzee(?), Rose, Roxy, Dirk, Dave, Jade, Jake,

and then it's probably possible to date Jane but I might make it harder...but not sure? Just since she was already in Namco High SO.. debating if she should even be dateable in the first place. I'll probably make her show up either way. 

May throw in a bonus 1 or 2 characters that are SECRETLY dateable. <:3c You'd have to figure that out later I guess, unless I reveal it before I release the game.

So far when it comes to who you can date....... pretty sure Karkat, Kanaya, Dirk, and Jake will be available. This is subject to change and more will probably be added as well.

NEWS BIT:

A rather ambiguous character has been created to be a player character, so that the player can name them based on whoever they feel like being. They will probably have a default name that is able to be changed. Unsure if I will have any FOR SURE canon characters as player characters, as it would be a lot more difficult and time consuming, but for now we have at least one player, who I will mayyyybe reveal in a while. But maybe not. They could be secret until it's released. You never know. !!!

Possible sprites or ....at least beta versions! May do some touching up (and probably change most or all of the expressions. These were just tests, mostly. Body sort of bothers me though so his pose(s) might change).But yeah might...do the sprites like this? I mean my style isn't too bad (I hope!).It might have a little more personality if I try to make it like this rather than copy the talksprites from the comic or something.

SO LIKE AN HOUR AGO OR SOMETHING I QUICKLY MADE A DEMO JUST TO SEE IF I COULD AND YEAH P MUCH I’M PRETTY SURE I’M TOTALLY ABLE TO DO THIS. THE SPRITES WILL BE A LOT BETTER I LITERALLY DREW UP KARKAT IN LIKE 2 MINUTES (MAYBE).

Also the backgrounds��. PROBABLy will be drawn by me. Rather than just taken from the comic.

The title menu plays the song “Alterniabound” and when you talk to Karkat it play’s “Karkat’s theme”. (Telling you since you can’t see sound obv). 

Saying that it was a joke makes him say “OH, WELL, GOOD. THANKS FOR TELLING ME.”

But yeah this was just a stupid quick test of my abilities to fuck with this program if you guys really want me to try and make a high quality unofficial homestuck Date Sim/Interactive game just ……… EXPRESS IT TO ME I GUESS. MAYBE I’LL DO IT. Would be good practice for my game I’m working on bc I do still need to figure out some shit and maybe it would be best to do that with a stupid test game. Like this.

(PS: These images are screenshots! It’s literally a very tiny short game but I am too lazy to pack it up and distribute it since it’s only like five seconds long. If you guys want me to make something better it’s totally possible.)
