Including Links to Original Posts in your Description
anonymous asked: hey! how do you link to all of your original posts in your description? thanks in advance!
Linking to your original posts is a great way to get your content out there and make people more likely to visit your blog. It’s very simple to do by using the process of linking urls in your description as outlined in this post, and changing the url to link to your original posts instead! There are two basic methods you can use to do this:
Method 1: Linking to a Navigation Page
If you’re so inclined, you can set up a page which has links to your original posts (like this one for printables by emmastudies), and insert that link into your description. This is quite a lot more time consuming than the alternative, but it is far more organized and makes it easier for people to find what they’re looking for.
Method 2: Linking to an Original Post Tag
Many studyblrs have a specific tag they use on all their original content (#mine, #original, and #my post are some common tags), and you can choose to link to that tag on your blog. If your tag is #mine, then use the format “yoururl.tumblr.com/tagged/mine” and it’ll show all of your original content (like this page by obsidianstudy).
If you haven’t already tagged all of your original posts with a specific tag, you can use tumblr’s mass editor to add tags to your posts.
This may be less organized than creating a navigation page, but it’s much less work for you and probably the most common way to link to your original content. It also gives people visiting your blog a great sample of your posts!
Hope this helps!

Hey I'm a new studyblr 💜 I'm confused on how to start this blog. Do I just start re blogging posts or do I have to post my own ideas. I'm reallly confused thanks a lot 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Usually a mixture of both! If you’re brand new, it might be wise to just start with reblogging to get a feel for what’s been done, what’s popular, and what people like to see or what they find useful, and then start creating your own content.

Can you explain to me what a "theme" is? Is like a color scheme or something that you stick to? Can you not just reblog whatever you want?? Or is it something else, like when you hit the blog appearance button. Thank you in advance.

Your Tumblr Theme
anonymous asked: Can you explain to me what a “theme” is? Is like a color scheme or something that you stick to? Can you not just reblog whatever you want?? Or is it something else, like when you hit the blog appearance button. Thank you in advance.
When we say “theme”
Usually, when someone says “theme” they are referring to how their blog looks like when you visit their URL on a desktop or in a browser. For example, going to https://thestudyblrguide.tumblr.com/ will show our blog that has a layout, color scheme, and its own “aesthetic” that’s coded through HTML, CSS, and even JavaScript. When you go under the Profile drop-down menu and select “Edit Appearance”, you can scroll down a bit and click the “Edit Theme” button (it’s in the second section labeled “Website Theme”).
Tumblr media
What to Consider
When thinking about what theme to pick you should think about what kind of blog you are (which goes into what you should/shouldn’t reblog or post). For example, studyblrs tend to have minimalistic themes with a lot of navigation links for tags and projects they’re involved in. This “theme” usually has a lot of white and pastel colors and has an aesthetic to it, but you don’t have to follow that aesthetic if you don’t want to! Most studyblrs also post studyspo, masterposts, and other studyblr content that has to do with studying, school, or being a student.
Here are some links to find some themes:
In these sites, you can filter by color and layout to see what fits your needs the most!

Theme Hunter’s collection
Themes Ltd collection
And here are some popular theme makers that make more customized themes (as opposed to the default Tumblr theme)

Motivation & Discipline
anonymous asked: been studying the whole of june because my exams are after the holidays and i think I've lost motivation? what should i do? there's no time for me to take a break :-(
The most difficult part of studying is definitely starting to study and sticking to it. Having motivation is helpful at first and will help you get started on your goals, but after this point it really comes down to your discipline to continue doing things!
What’s the difference?
Motivation is only going to encourage you to do something, whether it’s from looking at pictures or rewarding yourself after tasks.
Discipline is habit that forms out of the motivation you have given yourself previously. Eventually this task becomes normal to you and motivation won’t be necessary for you to do it. The task is just a regular part of your routine, like eating lunch.
Example: We all want to rest a few extra minutes (or hours) when our alarm rings in the morning. When this happens, you start having a mental talk with yourself. “Should I even go?” “Is sleeping in worth it?” You may even start motivating yourself to get out bed. “There’s a test today and I can’t miss it!” If you have discipline, you get out bed without this mental talk.
A lot of Studyblrs study based on motivation by reminding themselves about the rewards of studying, such as where they will be in the future if they study now. A lot even read quotes and look at photos & blogs. This is a good start if you are new to studying, but it’s definitely not efficient. A lot of people who study this way end up procrastinating because they give themselves breaks as a reward. Everything you have to do will build up, and that obviously isn’t fun! All you will want to do is crawl into bed.
Studying based on discipline means that you study out of habit — or that it has become a regular part of your routine. Like how you know when to eat, you know when to study. This is a lot more efficient than motivational studying because tasks won’t build up as bad. Instead of avoiding tasks and crawling into bed, you just do them.
How do you develop discipline?
The first step is understanding that sometimes you just have to do the task. Even if the task at hand isn’t fun, it has to be done! It’s now or later, and choosing later only leads to procrastination and task build-up.
Doing something sooner than later is a huge key in developing discipline. When you make the decision to put off work that needs to be done and to rely on your future self, your future self is going to be in a lot more stress and exhaustion! Things will continue to build up and won’t get done, either not on-time or not complete at all.
This can lead to you not getting the grades or qualifications you could have gotten, which may stop you from achieving your goals.
Comes to terms with the fact that some tasks are more important than others! You shouldn’t put scrolling through your dashboard, reblogging posts, watching Youtube, and even reading fan-fiction above more important tasks.
Learn to rely on yourself and yourself only. Like the first bullet, you simply have to do the task; you can’t say no or your future won’t be the way you want it to be! Disregarding the meme, keep telling yourself to just do it.
Know the difference between a break and simply stopping. If your break consists of you saying “I’ll do the rest later” or “I’ll continue tomorrow,” that’s not a break! Breaks should:
be no longer than an hour,
should be used to help you recharge, and
should have a task themselves.
Instead, say: “I’ll set a timer for 30 minutes so I can get a snack and relax.”
Remember: the point of a Studyblr is to help you study. Don’t just reblog aesthetic photos; reblog masterposts, resources, and things that will actually help you!

coding: adding a URL to your description box
@studyingwizard asked: Hello, I would really appreciate it if you could give some tips about how to insert url in our description box..thanks in advance!
to add a url to your description box on tumblr:
go to your account > edit appearance > edit theme
under appearance options, find ‘Description’
to add a link / url to your description, insert
<a href="YOUR URL HERE">YOUR TEXT HERE</a>
(in ‘your url here’, put https:// + whatever your url is. in ‘your text here’, put whatever text you want to actually appear as your link in your description box! i.e. putting the url for a tracked tag, putting your #tracked tag as the text)
once you’ve finished putting your url and text, you’re all done!
hope this helps, love!
yours, the studyblr guide.

welcome to the studyblr guide!
so this is the introductory post for the studyblr guide!
what is all this though?
the studyblr guide’s aim is to offer assistance and/or help to people who have questions about the studyblr community, studyblrs, etc.
so the hope is that we will eventually have guides or tutorials for things people may have questions for (i.e. how to start your studyblr, what to do, how to make graphic banners for your posts, how to edit your photos, etc.) and have archives that keep track of various things, including a place to find all the different studyblr networks, what sort of tags to use to boost our post, what tags studyblrs track, etc.
what are you going to be posting or offering help with?
glad you asked! we’re just getting started and on our feet, but here are a couple of projects we’re going to start on
About Bullet Journals: all about bullet journals, how to start one, different examples, etc.
The Studyblr Dictionary: a comprehensive collection of terms and definitions used in the studyblr community that might be confusing or foreign to others.
The Archives: a large, digital phonebook and nexus, a all-in-one, basically. The goal of the Archives is to have a place where anyone looking for either tracked tags, networks, groups, etc. can find what they might be looking for all in one place.
in addition, we’re going to, with assistance from you, the studyblr community, and everyone, post or reblog original content, like masterposts others have written and have a comprehensive list for others to find all the posts floating around!
thanks for helping support the studyblr guide, and don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for the studyblr guide content coming soon!!
yours,
the studyblr guide.
