Dear friends ❤️,
After surviving the devastating war in Gaza, my family and I sought safety in Egypt. While we have moved away from immediate danger, the challenges of life here remain significant. We are struggling to secure rent and daily living expenses.😢
We have decided to open a fundraising link to help secure a safe place for us, a place that will protect us and our children from the harsh conditions. Your donations will serve as a beacon of hope in building a home that provides us with safety and stability.😔🇵🇸
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a big difference in our lives.🙏🏻
You can contribute via the following link:
https://gofund.me/abbc2759
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support and generosity.🙌🏼❤️‍🩹
❗❗❗

Doing the Craft Without Spending Money
Since I started practicing the craft, I’ve spent very little money, mainly for an oil/incense burner and some small candles. I make use of everyday items and natural finds:
Tumblr media
Witch Bells: Made from broken Christmas decorations I repurposed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Containers and bottles for magical waters: I clean and reuse lotion bottles and day cream containers to store ingredients. I take off any sticker or label they may have and clean the glue that remains with alcohol and a hard sponge.
I use small bottles from alcoholic drinks, cleaned thoroughly, and tie different colored threads around them to identify the type of water (e.g., moon water, rainwater, sun water).
Tumblr media
Candles: I collect leftover wax from candles in a simple plastic tray, then melt and combine it to create a new candle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Natural Finds: On my walks, I collect plants and stones, then identify them using apps like PlantNet and Rock Identifier. I dry them and put them in small bags, adding a label with the name of each item and store them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Homemade Incense: I make my own incense using dried lavender and other herbs I gather.
⚠️ Important Safety Guidelines
1. Identification is Key:
Before collecting or burning anything, identify the item and research thoroughly to ensure it is safe.
-Plants: Ensure they are non-toxic and suitable for burning or keeping in your home.
-Stones: Check if they are safe to handle or use in spells (some stones can dissolve in water or release harmful substances).
-Feathers: Be cautious. Avoid touching with bare hands. They can have bacteria and parasites.
2. Avoid Toxic Materials:
Never touch or take anything that might be poisonous or hazardous. When in doubt, leave it.
Cleaning and Preparing Found Items
Wild Herbs:
1. Rinse Gently:
Rinse the herbs under cool running water to remove dirt, dust, and bugs.
2. Disinfect (Optional):
Soak the herbs briefly in a bowl of water with a splash of white vinegar. This helps remove bacteria or pesticides.
3. Dry Thoroughly:
Lay the herbs on a clean towel in a warm, dry spot away from direct sunlight to preserve their natural oils.
4. Storage:
Once completely dry, store in a clean, airtight container away from moisture and light.
Stones and Crystals:
1. Water Cleaning:
Rinse the stone with warm water (if the stone is water-safe; avoid water for stones like selenite or malachite).
2. Salt Bath:
For hard stones, you can soak them in a bowl of sea salt or Himalayan salt for a few hours.
3. Energy Cleansing:
Place the stone under the light of the full moon or smudge it with sage or incense to cleanse its energy.
4. Avoid Harsh Chemicals:
Never use soap or harsh cleaners on stones, as this can damage their surface.
Feathers:
1. Disinfect Safely:
Place the feather in a sealed bag with a small amount of food-grade diatomaceous earth for 24-48 hours to kill any mites or parasites. You can also use a diluted solution of disinfectant and soak the feather for some minutes.
2. Wash Gently:
Soak the feather in warm water with a mild soap or baby shampoo. Avoid scrubbing, as it can damage the feather.
3. Dry Naturally:
Lay the feather flat on a towel and let it air dry completely. You can shape it with a toothbrush you no longer use.

basic ass witch tips 🔮
[revised post from ~2018 & last edited on 9.29.24]
please note that these are all related to things i have actually seen discussed or mentioned. please do your research before blindly following the advice of someone online, myself included.
if you're on some kind of medication, including but not limited to hormonal birth control, heart medication, and anti-depressants, double check with your healthcare professional/provider [HCP] before you drink that new tea you just bought.
always, always, always tell your HCP before trying any kind of herbal supplement, whether it’s something you made yourself or something you bought at the store.
have a diagnosed medical condition? talk to your HCP before ingesting anything or putting anything on your body that you aren’t familiar with.
don’t. drink. essential. oils. essential oils are not consumable!!!!!
citrus oils can cause photosensitivity, or being sensitive to light and more susceptible to sunburns so be mindful when using these oils on your skin.
if it hasn't been emphasized enough, PLEASE dilute your essential oils before use! common carrier oils are grapeseed, castor, olive, coconut, avocado, almond, etc.
oil and water don't mix, so you would need to use an alcohol based solution with essential oils to dilute them that way (if you plan to use them for a spray or something of that nature).
be mindful of using sprays, incense, powders, etc. that could release particulates into the air around pets or those who have allergies, respiratory issues, etc.
don't involve your pets in your practice in a way that could be harmful to them - no essential oils on them, no crystals in their water bowl, no moon water that's been sitting on your shelf for weeks.
i beg you, please don't put crystals in any uh bodily orifices.
there are some herbs you absolutely cannot burn (or use safely, really) for any reason, so make sure you're educated on all that beforehand; yew, for example, is highly toxic and potentially fatal if consumed or inhaled. the leaves, bark, and seeds contains a chemical called taxine, which is what some of the most hardcore chemotherapies are made from so keep that in the back of your mind.
that being said, please wear gloves and use common sense if you decide to forage for your own herbs or plants. i know that plant identifying apps exist so if you have a smartphone, that might be a good place to start.
putting salt on grass does a couple of things: salt removes moisture from the soil, thus drying out the grass and killing it; and, salt causes chloride to build up in the soil, thus making it toxic which inhibits chlorophyll production, leading the grass to eventually "starve" and die - please don't do this.
don't leave candles unattended - even small ones; it's not a good habit to get into.
also!! crystal balls in direct sunlight can cause a fire so be careful!
more fire stuff - be mindful of the environment and also safety so check for burn bans before you make a fire outdoors.
sterile lancets, not needles or pins. that's all i'm gonna say about that.
don't drink water you collected from anywhere outside unless you plan to properly filter it first.
if you plan to store water for later use (moon water, for example), refrigerate it or set it in a cool, dark place.
distilled water is free of minerals and contaminants so it has a longer shelf life than tap or bottled water - keep this in mind when making charged waters or other potion type things.
fresh herbs or other things of that nature left at room temperature can also grow super harmful bacteria. for example, putting raw garlic in olive oil and leaving it at room temperature will end as a breeding ground for botulism and mold.
be safe out there!

the gods understand your disabilities, mental health, and neurodiversities.
they understand if your physical disabilities, mental or physical, prevent you from being able to go outside.
they understand you even when you cannot articulate what you mean during prayer or cannot find the words to express gratitude and love.
they understand if you can't spend much time or stand still at their altars.
they understand if executive dysfunction keeps you from making offerings or doing a lot of active practice.
they understand if you have to take breaks and hiatuses from practicing to focus on yourself and your mental or physical health.
they understand if you lose focus during meditation/trance work or cannot do it to begin with.
they understand you and are with you when you cannot get out of bed for mental or physical reasons.
they understand you and are with you during times when you cannot care for yourself or love yourself.
the gods will always understand, love, and accept us for who we are. we are all valid, and we are seen and heard by the gods, even when it feels as if we are alone. 💙

A reminder to my fellow daughters and brothers of Helen, of pagan, of Celt, and all other ancient religions, that you don’t need a large, elaborate altar with all the bells and whistles for your deities! I worship and respect so many gods that there is no way realistically that I could ever find the space, or money, to construct altars on the same level of elaboration that I do for my primary gods to whom I am an official devotee to. For example, my altars to Artemis, Demeter, Poseidon, Freyja, and Pan are much, much larger and more intricate than the ones for the other gods who I still worship like Hermes, Brigid, Loki, Hestia, Dionysus, and all the others. It’s ok! They understand, and are appreciative for whatever you give them, even if it isn’t physical, even if it’s just a thought! They love you and they know that you worship them in so many ways, that altars are just one way ti do so out of many. If you do want some ideas for “pocket altars” that don’t take up too much space, lmk and I’ll post some ideas! Love you all, and blessed be your days 💙🏛️💙

Just a friendly reminder…
Just doing a prayer to your deity is still witchcraft.
Simply putting on your devotional jewelry is witchcraft.
A simple painting and candle to your deity is still witchcraft.
Drawing sigils and runes with your makeup as you do it is still witchcraft.
Doing writing and poetry is still witchcraft.
And I could go on and on but most importantly…
You do not need to devote hours on end and mass amounts of money to your craft. Caring for yourself and your safety is more important.
Subtle witchcraft is still witchcraft.

I was trying to find this post again because same.
There’s a unicyclist that use to live somewhere around me, who would also blaring random music on a Bluetooth speaker while he rode around. I didn’t see him often but when I did it was always on bad days (Thanks Loki)
The one that stands out to me the most was the day I found out my paternal grandmother passed away and on my walk home he rode by blaring the Thomas the Tank engine theme song and I couldn’t help but laugh.
noting the old gods on a hike through the woods today:
(soothing rainfall) hello freyr
(hawk perched nearby) hello frigg
(cash on the trailside) oh thanks, thor
(unicyclist rides by) uh... hi loki?

One of my favorite kennings for Loki is "farmr Sigvinjar arma", which translates roughly to "the cargo of Sigyn's arms". Add a little Gustav Klimt to the equation, and you have an idea that's been plaguing me for months.

⭑𓂃 I’m Lynx.
⭑𓂃 I’m 25 years old and living in America
⭑𓂃 I’m gender-fluid and pan/bi. I use any pronouns.
⭑𓂃 I’ve been practicing paganism for 8 years and Heathen/Norse Pagan for the last 5 of those years.
⭑𓂃 I’m engaged to a new Norse pagan.
⭑𓂃 While I honor all of the Norse Pantheon the main deities I work with are Loki, Sigyn, and Hel.
⭑𓂃 I have 1 dog and 3 cats I will probably post about a lot.
⭑𓂃 Most people would say my practice is eclectic, I really just do what feels right in the moment whether that’s using runes, tarot, sigils, kitchen magic, etc.
⭑𓂃 I’m really crafty and will attempt to make something out of nothing all the time. Right now I’m redesigning an old medicine cabinet.
⭑𓂃 I’m a teacher in occupation and work two jobs, one in physical education and the other in early childhood care.
⭑𓂃 If I’m not working, practicing witchcraft, or crafting I’m probably playing video games, writing fiction, studying something random, watching anime, or cosplaying.

Oh you're a Norse pagan who thinks traditional masculinity is threatened by men painting their nails and feminism is destroying society? Tell that to Thor. You know, the god of thunder who fought Jotuns in full drag to protect a woman's right to choose. Go on, I dare you

Just a quick reminder since I'm seeing a trend in my recent new followers -
If you are a radfem/gender critic/gender essentialist/TERF, don't support trans rights, think that "witch" is not a gender-neutral term, or believe that magic comes from the womb / only cis-women can be "real" witches, get the fuck off my blog.
Don't follow me, don't ask me questions, I don't care about your journey, I don't care about your reasoning, I'm not interesting in talking to you, I will block you on sight.
This is not a safe space for TERFs. There is nothing for you here.
