In many or most cases the I was being 'so good' at things that did not serve me or others in a positive way. I'm grateful for others who have helped me see these things about myself. This makes me laugh 😂 thinking about the Jim Carey movie "Bruce Almighty". He takes on the responsibilities of God for a short time, during which he starts hearing everyone's prayers. The only way to quiet the voices is to respond to all the prayers(emails). To shortcut it, he sends a reply all with YES. Bam done he thinks smugly as he stares at his empty inbox. Soon after his 'work is done' chaos breaks out because everyone got what they asked for. . Most people don't wish for wealth by saying "please let me go through all the tough times, highs and lows, false starts, pain and failures required to gain the experience, relationships, and wisdom to acquire X amount of wealth." They ask with high hopes that their prayers of wealth are answered by the unwise Bruce Almighty. It would be the familiar story of the lottery winner that within 18 months is back in the exact same financial situation they were in before they got lucky. . I had to fail many times for a long long time at trying to make others responsible for how my life was turning out. It was difficult for me to put so much focus inward because I somehow confused it with being selfish. Oh how I laugh now looking back at it. The struggle to define the difference between selfishness and personal responsibility. Now I know that by putting attention on myself and working on my shortcoming is not only not selfish but is the best way to make a global difference. Ghandi said "be the change you want to see in the world", and its so true that it all starts with what I used to think was a 'selfish' attitude. If we all just spent more time being responsible for our own feelings and actions, the world would be a much better place. Who do you see in the mirror? Who we are when we wake up is a result of our habits and daily actions. If I do everything "wrong" nutritionally for the day I will still have some greens. I'm embarrassed to say it might be a last ditch effort like shoving a handful of baby spinach in my mouth before bed lol. A simple daily commitment it THE keystone to building bigger goals. A sustainable healthy nutrition plan always starts with a small daily commitment. Eat greens daily is one of the top 5 simple goals. It might be my own Jedi mind tricks I'm playing on myself, but I swear my body rewards me for keeping my 'green promise'. The way I look at it is that I only get one chance today to eat for a healthy for the future Frank. When I'm 90 I don't image ill be looking back thinking why did you eat handfuls of raw spinach those days? . Sometimes it's the smallest bit of ✨✨✨trust that can make the biggest impact. It happens to me quite frequently that I come out of deep focus and wonder, "wait, is the the correct path? Why did I start down this way?" Having faith that it IS the right place and right path is what aligns hard work with purpose. Control and planning can only get me so far.
