God that chapter was brutal!!! Spoilers!!!
But uh.... Am I the only one who noticed that E-soul not only shot Moon but that he's literally aiming at Lin Ling? Is he going to kill him to? Will they fight to the death?
I continue to believe that OG Nice is sus as fuck and there must be a lot more to his character for E-Soul to kill his 'girlfriend' and want to kill the guy who pretended to be him for a few months.

What Happened in the 'Incident' ?
Spoilers kinda? More like a delulu theory
I think there was something fundamentally wrong with OG Nice. With Li Haolin's new post in twt and the fact that Nice didn't seem to actually want to fall from that rooftop.... .
.
. My theory is that Nice had a break down (crash out) so bad he did something bad (like bad bad) that had something to do with the hero Smile (did this hero die? what else could have happened to them?) and the company covered Nice's ass and kept the public ignorant. Maybe X knew this and thought Nice did no longer deserved to be called a hero so he used his powers to take him out and make it look like a suicide (hence the glitching and doves)

Lmao wouldn't it be crazy if Lin Ling ended up with two hero personalities? What if he sabes Moon as Lin Ling and that made him a hero but at the same time he has to mantain Nice's image?

I like how every season of Malevolent can be compared to various literature pieces. (Beware I'm not a passionate reader and literature classes were pretty boring to me)
The first season is quite modern in the way it tells the story of the MCs unique condition and what not. More contemporary, the MCs aren't straight up badasses and fuck up many times, very organic.
The Dreamlands arc is VERY lovecraftian. Cheff kiss. At times it reminds me of the american need for putting their heroes in situations that force them to make unethical choices and are easily forgiven due to context (I personally asociarte John and Arthur's time in the pits to some of the MCU backstories).
Now Allison in the first episodes is straight up Dracula. Foreigner goes to some strange isolated place that screams bloody murder and an evil overlord with a connection to the supernatural keeps the population afraid as f
The New York arc it's clearly old jazz and even reminds me of 'a case in scarlet'.
Now the latest season tastes a bit of Edgar Alan Poe and Shakespeare. Altho there have been previous 'shakesperean' happennings throughout the podcast mainly because of the misinterpretated foreshadowing/predictions/signs (à la Hamlet) and the tragic lovers dynamic John and Arthur display at times
I know many of us heard the first episodes of the latest season believing it to be an arthurian legend sort of arc but as things kept hapenning it didn't turn out like that at all ! And i love it for it.
I'm thinking the podcast could have and Odyssey like finale. I long tortuos travel with many stops in the way that eventualy leads to where everything started. Home.
What other classics do you associate Malevolent with?

Can you tell I'm obsessed with the way @rye-kin draws Mr. Hyde?
(The black and white image is Rye-kin's design I do not own it I simply have it as reference, the one in dark reds is mine tho)

So i found some free time and decided to make a transcript myself cause i can't find any.
Pd: Mason's accent is, at times, difficult to understand tho
Pd2: coming up with a vague description for certain sounds isn't as easy as i thought
I've started listening to "the gentleman from hell' but i want to know where i can find a transcripción of the episodes. I haven't found any yet...

SPOILERS FOR TO BE HERO X EPISODE 2!!! It's very interesting to me how Lin Ling is told to be Nice but then all the relationships that made Nice who he was start to exit the stage. Nice's friend, his fake girlfriend, and who knows what else we'll see. Then Moon tells Lin Ling to be himself and i can't help but to think that maybe he no longer we'll have to be Nice or at least not the version that the previous one was Nice ended his life and now the traces of his existence are disappearing too, living space for inovation, wich is Lin Ling's greatest virtue! Also that ending sequence where LL has a different appereance? deff forshadowing.

this is amazing!!!
I stumbled across @arythusa’s The Glass Scientists webcomic early this year and fell in love, so I animated a little scene for fun 🧪
Tumblr media
I built a Front and 3/4 Front Jekyll and Hyde rig (fun fact, they’re one rig!) and animated them in Toon Boom Harmony, HalluciLanyon spawning and getting harpooned is a tweaked version of that rig, and him getting bodied was drawn in Procreate.  The layout was also made in Harmony. The audio is from the movie Drop Dead Fred.
Tumblr media
I used the comic itself as the ‘model sheet’ to build the rig off of- used various panels for their heights and body parts in place of character, hand, mouth, etc sheets, so many pieces are pulled right from the pages. I also got to experiment with compositing, which was fun!
The art and story of this comic hooked me and I’m so excited to see where it goes! ❣️

I was scrolling on tik tok and came across a mashup audio with Jon and Martin's last words in tma.
Something doesn't add up
How can the EYE (that watches and sees and doesn't interfere or does anything but see events unfold CEASELESS) not let Jon make a decision? How can something so unbothered by emotions and the complexity of decision making actively stop Jon from doing something???? (If my memory isn't fucked up yet, i think it was canonically confirmed that only the web was self aware)
I have TWO working theories
1) Is actually The Web.
2) Is actually Jon.
Both are equally terrifying. Either The Web is making sure the entities make it across to other universes by making use of the high tention and emotional fog clouding both Jon and Martin from rational thought.
Or Jon has lost the last threads of humanity he had left and, like any monster/animal, searched for the way to keep itself alive, and being so tangled in silk of lies while being a receptor of every know knowledge of past and present, gave him the tools to convince Martin to do something that he himself was never brave enough to do. End his self.
It wouldn't be permanent, it would not be death in the way humans know it. I imagine such death the way one turns ice cubes into water so it can fit a different mold. Not the same shape as before but made of the same water. Sometimes different water from different ice cubes mix together too.

It's funny how Loki left Odin in a nursing home. Partly he didn't want to take care of him and he put a spell on him so he wouldn't run away, but on the other hand he knew how to find a place where they would take care of his elderly father. Loki, despite being a villain, is quite considerate towards other people.

I have the feeling that Alastor was never actually discovered to be the serial killer everyone lived to fear. He died by 'accident', got stitched his torn-appart-by-dogs body, buried properly face up and in his gravestone you could read "here lies a good man, he always smiled"
Maybe that's one of the reasons he wants his carnage to be broadcasted, he needs to be know, because no one ever did know him. But at the same time he needs to hide, is second nature to him to keep himself a secret, it's how he survived, he never got caught for it.
