I live in Alabama and I am ashamed and disappointed in Trump supporters and our “president”. The rebel flag is a racist and dead symbol for a party full pf losers. Yesterday as a giant show of hate and a vagrant disregard to others. As someone who has marched with BLM and has seen my friends get arrested and pepper sprayed (and other things), this is not right. If those protesters would have been BLM protesters, more blood would have been spilled. They wouldn’t have been welcomed in by the capital police, who took selfies with the terrorists. Smdh get your shit together, America.

I keep coming back to this image because it perfectly encapsulates what Make America Great Again stands for. It’s not about global standing, economic power, or patriotism. Make America great again is defined as assaulting our democracy, attempting to prevent the peaceful transition of power, and a desire to take America back to a time when deep rooted beliefs in white supremacy and slavery ripped this country apart. These people marched into our capitol building at the direction of the president of the United States with the full intention of putting a halt to our constitutional processes, and they carried the fucking rebel battle flag with them. The symbol of white supremacy and anti-American traitors. In almost 240 years of existence, that flag has never been flown inside that building. I truly cannot come up with the right words to describe this. It’s shameful, it’s embarrassing, it’s disgraceful, and it’s outright un-American. Every single American should look at this image and feel absolutely disgusted at what transpired yesterday. If you don’t, then you really shouldn’t be calling yourself an American.
