How did I finish a trilogy in one day!? 😮

Okay let me start with I have never done this before and I might have skipped several chapters to get to the end. But I finished 3 books regardless. No regrets. It was awesome.

This trilogy is by Elodie Harper and its called the Wolf Den Trilogy. Its about the story of Amara a slave from the city of Pompeii. Originally a Greek civilian, her father's death resulted her in being sold. And she became a slave in Pompeii's infamous brothel, The Wolf Den. We meet several of her companions and how they navigate the world during the ancient times. It has a lot of mature themes too. (TW: for sexual slavery, rape, violence, abuse, suicide)

📌Book One: The Wolf Den

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐5/5

Review: The first book that has me hooked. I personally loved how well defined the characters are. I cried a whole bunch because of the conditions they had to live through. And the main antagonist is really a sick bastard but Amara finds a way to survive him and the conditions they are in. You can just read this one and be satisfied.

📌Book Two: The House with a Golden Door

⭐⭐⭐3/5

Review: This one is set after her being engaged to a rich patron. She makes some decisions that ultimately costs her everything and its both frustrating and yet convincing because of her character. Its not as engaging as the first one but its still a solid continuation to the series.

📌Book Three: Temple of Fortuna

⭐⭐⭐⭐4/5

Review: This one tells about her fate as another courtesan to a powerful patron and how she reconnects with her daughter. The book also tells the tale of Pompeii's historical eruption of Mount Vesuvius and how it affects the characters. It has an ending that is rightfully deserved. And I found it satisfying.

⭐Overall Review: Great Trilogy if you like Ancient Rome and FLs who has grit. Lots of Angst and Mature themes. I admit I like to have stories with people trying to survive unfortunate circumstances, so this trilogy hits that spot.

Hopefully, I can continue reading more books this year. I usually read web comics but now I want to read books in my E-reader. Cheers! 🍻

My HTML classes back in High School would come in handy hahaha. I remember creating a website for all the bands that I loved and I was proud of it. Now time to dip my toes and create one again.

I think I will create my own site soon but I need to gather some inspiration and resources first. Exciting to see what I can come up with. ✨
