Great idea! I’d love to play!

Fic interaction is unfortunately dwindling, and I think we’re all feeling it. So this is my small attempt to help boost some engagement through the community and potentially help some writers earn new readers!

The challenge: to shine a light on as many fics as possible and show writers some love by reblogging with thoughtful comments

When: 11th - 31st July 2025

Who: all over the age of 18 are welcome, writers and/or readers alike. Not limited to any specific fandoms, let’s spread love and lanterns 🏮 far and wide!

This was definitely a “Waitaminute! Back up!!!” Moment.

Not only is the suit made from the car RiRi and her stepdad refurb’d, Ronnie—RiRi’s mom, an artist/fabricator/creative herself—sews a silk fabric lining into the Iron Heart helmet to protect her hair. 🥹

Just another of the many reasons why I love this show.

There’s “no logical reason” for Sarah to be in the MCU??

In that whole series, until almost the end of episode 5, Bucky ain’t smiled at anybody. Not Old Man Yori Nakajima. Not Leah the Waitress. (He couldn’t wait to get out of that cafe. Didn’t really want to be there in the first place.) And not once at Sam even once.

And then he sees…

Sarah Wilson.

How is the woman who did this to him gets never seen or heard from again?

And he immediately ditches his plans to peace out after dropping off Sam’s gift from the Wakandans…so he can stay and meet her. (And he doesn’t know she’s Sam’s sister.)

He actually introduces himself.

And when the Flagsmashers are dealt with, you know he leaves Brooklyn after making sure Old Man Yori is gonna be okay when his final apology is made.

He packs up is few belongings, and moves his fine ass to Louisiana to be near Sarah, continue to flirt with her—in the open despite what Sam says—play with her kids, be a part of an accepting community and have seasoned food like he did in Wakanda.

Who with any sense thinks there’s no logical reason to have Sarah in the MCU??

You know who I want to see more of in the MCU? Sarah, I miss her. I know there is no logical reason for her to be there but I don't care.

I didn't forget about you queen, the directors just couldn't handle your beauty 💅

Summary: The year is 1942, alternatively speaking. In this World a War is spinning across the globe. Nurse Sarah Wilson is trying to do her job in a small farming community in the NorthWestern part of France. It all goes to hell when a handsome pilot crash lands into a ditch. He brings a spark of mystery, lighting up Nurse Wilson’s quiet life, upending everything. Who is he? Can be be trusted? Featuring alternative timeline versions of Sarah Wilson and James Bucky Barnes.

It starts in wintry France and ends in swampy Delacroix. Featuring nosy neighbors, questionable ex-boyfriends, and Sam Wilson.

13 chapters. 30k words.

Rated: Mature for graphic sex in Ch 6 and period typical violence.

Sam Wilson

If it’s one thing I’m very happy about, it’s that when he was Falcon, Marvel decided to drop that whole “bird” thing.

No bird-themed superhero suit, with those ridiculous claw feet.

No Redwing is an actual falcon nonsense.

None of that talks with the birds bullshit.

He is 100% human being. An Air Force veteran with special skills and who impressed Steve Rogers and Nick Fury—and Natasha Romanov—enough to bring him aboard as an Avenger.

And he looks a complete badass with wings. Not like a winged dork with claw boots on his feet.

And now, Joaquin Torres is the badass Falcon, and also not connected to actual birds in any way, shape, or form.

Thank you, Marvel. Thank you.

Not that I hate birds, mind you. They’re okay. I just really don’t like some things about comic Falcon. The bird thing is one of them.

This vid points out the dance styles in a beautiful and pivotal scene in the film, and shouts out the dancers, who were not credited in the movie.

The song used in the scene this video refers to—“I Lied To You”—was written by Raphael Siddiq and Ludwig Goransson (who wrote the score).

Latoya Morgan and J.J. Abrams made a thing, and after the first episode of the 8 episode 1st season I am All The Way In.

Latoya has written for shows such as Washington Turn, Shameless, Into The Badlands and also The Walking Dead and other shows, and she credits The X-Files as the show that made her want to write. (🥹)

There aren’t that many Black women Showrunners. And as for Black women Writers on TV (is Shonda Rimes The Highlander??) but she’s done some really cool stuff. She was recently tapped to write the screenplay for the in-the-works The Night of the Living Dead reboot for Vertigo and the Romero family.

She also has written comics like Dark Blood (inspired by the Tuskegee Airmen) and a Creed comic with Michael B Jordan.

Anyway, I recommend Duster. Not just because of the setting, the costumes (!!), the music (!!!)m, the cars, and Agent Nina Hayes’ Afro. I recommend it because it’s damn fun.

He’s using the skills he’s developed by being a future StepDad to Sarah Wilson’s two sons.

There will be times when he realizes that dealing with a teen and a tween will be easier than dealing with Walker.

I have been using Adobe Express, but they recently “upgraded” to something that is like Canva.

I really hate Canva.
