I know people are convinced that Chester (John?) Is trying to warn Sam and the others *away* from the Magnus Institute....

But like...

Sam was talking about giving up on his investigation into the Institute, and then Chester gave him a Magnus Institute-related story. Seemingly unprompted.

Sam also got an internal email from someone named "John" with a name and address. (I know I saw at least one person say that's what lead Sam to Gertrude and Gerry; I'm not sure if that's confirmed and I'm just stupid or if that was someone connecting strings and could have been completely unrelated...)

Guys I don't think Chester (or John or who- or whatever is in that computer) is trying to warn Sam *away* from the Institute. I think something or someone actively wants Sam and the others investigating it.

You know, the genius part of the TMAGP April Fool’s joke is that there’s several steps to it.

1. Protocol episode?? I thought they were on hiatus!

2. A fluff episode? And it’s an hour long? That seems strange…

I hope Elias shows up as Gwen's completely zonked out fail uncle. I hope he smokes weed on audio & says shit like "far out, dude". another big difference between tma and tmagp is that in tma, the listener is essentially on the same page as jon at all times. you know what he knows, and when he discovers something new, he immediately tells you. but in tmagp, everyone already knows more than you. and they won't tell you. you just have to try to listen in at the right time.

it's kind of tied to tape recorders; in tma, your existence as the listener is justified. it has a purpose. you are the tape recorder. that's why you get to know everything. in tmagp, you're not supposed to be listening. what you get is scattered, contextless scenes, starring people who don't know that you're listening.

I actually like how after every episode of tmagp some tma-listeners analyse statements like sommelier when he talks about some rich wine like hmmm this one is clearly the lonely with a slight hint of the stranger and maybe notes of the spiral and I think I can sense some desolation in here

can we talk about the fact that chester started talking Unprompted. like. It's supposed to be that you click an item on their gay little case list right? and sometimes it'll be a talker. Sam was filling out Physical Paperwork and as soon as Celia walks away, Chester starts a-chattering. Sam didn't do SHIT. He even goes "what the hell" because YEAH MAN, WHAT THE HELL. I haven't heard much on That Bit yet. Like hello. Chester. Do you have something you'd like to share with the class that you can only do in borrowed words, king?
