Anime update! After finishing Boku no Hero Academia and Attack on Titan (or what's out of them for now anyways) I decided to take on the short and light-hearted Cells at Work! As a piece of Edutainment about the human body it's pretty fun, it's nicely animated and the characters are a lot of fun. As a fun romp through - wait, did this show seriously just make cancer a sympathetic villain? THIS IS NOT OK. THIS SHOW SHOULD NOT MAKE ME FEEL BAD FOR CANCER.

Hey all! The kickstarter for Lucent is finally live! I did the draws and Jonah Kellman did the game design. It's a nice rules light game that supports up to five people. It's only $15 for the game itself so it's not even that pricey, if you think this might be your jam, go check it out!

I've been seeing more robins on my daily run lately, so I decided to make a robin-griff.

Cleaning out my to-do pile today, getting rid of anything that's no good and finishing things that are okay enough to bother finishing. This is one such piece, I started this last year at Covacon but couldn't really get the wolf looking right and eventually put it down. I ended up re-drawing the wolf at some later point, but putting it down again for inexplicable reasons. When I opened it up today, most of the fur detail was done, but the background was a complete mess. I touched up a few details, drew in a sword (as well as some other swords) added some smoke and a background, as well as spicing up the original composition's color scheme, and voila! Sif from Dark Souls.I still think the wolf doesn't *quite* look right, but I'm willing to put this one in the done enough pile for now.

Had the pleasure of playing through Hollow Knight recently. Due to the price I thought it would be a shorter and less involved game than it was, but I am not at all upset at the number of hours I've put in!

From the music, to the aesthetics to the smooth and natural feel of the movement, everything was so on point. It’s quickly becoming one of my favorite games of all time. (I’ve been eyeing that Wanderer’s Journal product they released a lil while back)

I also had so much fun with the "hands-off" Dark Souls style approach they took to the story, but even with that terrific and eerie ambiance they managed to break the tension with some really fun NPCs, in particular Zote and Miribelle were two of my favorites, but there were so many other colorful and unique characters in this game.

If you're in the mood for an exploration and combat focused platformer (or are just really into bugs), this is one of the best I've played in a long, long time!

Also the first piece of fanart I've managed to finish in a while. My pile has a lot of half-done stuff in it that I'm trying to crack down on.

I'm switching printing companies and that means opening up all my old files and going "holy crap I'm bad at setting up files, also why do all these drawings look awful?" So in short, this week I'm designing boxes, instruction booklets and re-drawing images. On the bright side, I can now get custom boxes for everything and I also get to play with foil stamping and spot UV and stuff. I'm *really* excited to play with some new printing techniques! Attached are some of the Triple Triad re-draws. Mostly I just improved the character cards because I've improved at faces a lot in the past few years, but there were also a few iconic monsters that needed facelifts. Because of the coronavirus I don’t know when the version with the new artwork will official hit the shelves, but if you just can’t wait, you can find the older (and slightly less visually impressive versions of the game) on etsy here, which is on sale right now!

If you have some extra time these days (and I know you do, don't lie to me) give Carole & Tuesday a watch. This show is fantastic, it's beautifully animated (most of the time) and the music is amazing. The gags are on point, in particular the "Mars Brightest" arc. The characters were a lot of fun, and even had some neat growth. Personally watching Angela and Ertigun's arcs were my favorite, but watching Carole and Tuesday grow as characters was a lot of fun too! The setting is also a wild adventure, the futuristic setting is a really nice addition to the rest of the tumult. If you have time, go watch it. It's a Netflix thing, so if you have Netflix you can check it out there :)

I used to draw a lot more fanart before my life got incredibly busy, now that things have slowed down again I'm spending more time doing (and drawing) the things I like. While I'm still keeping busy with other larger and cleaner art projects, it's nice to do something quick, easy and "unfinished". Making clean outlines on the tablet is a pain and easily the most boring part of any art project. Don't get me wrong, I like shadow work and coloring (though setting up color layers is also a bit of a bore). In this one I kinda of just relaxed a little and colored in my sketch. I really like doing folds in clothing and hair. It's also been a while since I did something "very anime" looking. Anyways, who the heck is this? It's Wendy from Don't Starve Together! A fun game that while finding a stable person to play with was a bit of a challenge, was worth the effort! Having someone willing to die a million times beside with me, more often than not, to things other than starvation, such as cold, hot, rain, lack of rain, monsters and rising salt levels, makes this rather challenging game a rewarding and fun experience. I particularly like Wendy both mechanically and design wise (the Roseate skin in particular, which is featured here) and she recently got a mechanical overhaul so now I have no idea what is going on with my character in addition to having no idea what is going on with the game. If you and a friend want to practice social isolation but would also like to feel ever so slightly less isolated, I recommend it highly

Belated wrap up post. 

2019 is in the books. I wasn't really sure what to post here, it's been a very tough year for me. I had to terminate an unhealthy 10 year relationship and had some rocky encounters with a few people I thought were my friends. The desire to isolate myself from people and spiral into depression has been something that's been challenging to stave off.

I thought about going into more detail about the year's tribulations, but decided against it. I'd rather share the positive things that happened instead.

I passed my TLTP, this was pretty difficult, as being a leader is very much in opposition to my native skillset.

I passed my driving test and bought a car. I've wanted to get a drivers license since I was 16 but my family not owning a car this proved to be a pretty significant barrier. Luckily I had some wonderful friends willing to teach me. And this year I finally had enough money to afford the purchase.

Tiny business continues to run, while I didn't produce anything new I did play around with different printing options and kept things going throughout the year.

I made it up to an hour of jogging on my daily run. I've wanted to do something fitness-oriented for a while now and when I quit my job I began jogging. At the outset I could only go for about 30 seconds but since then I've managed to work my way up to an hour! I'm changing things up a little and working in some sprinting portions now.

Finally my relationship with Isaac has been both very challenging and very rewarding. My previous relationship broke down due to rampant dishonesty from my previous partner and his lack of desire to change that. It's been difficult getting over that and learning to trust someone again, but Isaac has been very patient and very willing to work with me. Also as this is only my second relationship I'm learning how good things really can be, I feel listened to and respected, and like what I say matters. I feel like if there's a problem we can work together to fix and, and I'm not just working on issues alone. I feel supported and taken care of. It was a big risk letting someone else into my life but I'm glad I took that step.

I haven't produced a lot of artwork this year since it's been a bit of a struggle just to maintain everything I'm working on currently. But attached are some of the drawings I've done of Isaac that I haven't posted until now.

Giant dog. GIANT DOG. not sure how I feel about this one. I didn't have a ton of fun drawing it. I think I need to explore playing with some different styles or themes so I start enjoying drawing again a little more.

Gift for two of my friends that recently got married. :) I wanted to give it to them at MF Montreal while I was staying with them, but ended up missing my deadline and sending it out just a few days ago. Luckily the postal system didn't destroy it on the way over

I'm home for two weeks! So that means cleaning out my closet. I did a photoshoot the other day with all my judge stuff, to get some nice product photos for auctions and sales posts. It was surprisingly fun to dance around in the cold with a bunch of gloves, scarves, umbrellas and towels! Some of the photos came out pretty nice even before editing, my favorites are probably the one with the lightning bolts (mostly because the square cornered bolt tilts Isaac) and the one with ALL THE SWAG.
