tomislavmedovic:
Tomislav was pretty bummed that he wouldn’t be traveling over to Croatia this summer, like the rest of his family did, but this summer film lab was just too good to pass up.  He had been hit with wave after wave of homesickness, but he looked at this as an opportunity to meet new people and catch up on the “news” of the campus.  Sure, Radzine sometimes posted some crazy things on there, singling out some poor students, and… one of them seemed to be him.  He kept seeing his name everywhere, in passing, and was growing slightly paranoid about who else knows his little… inexperience predicament.  Tomislav only told a few people, did they just start spreading things around campus?  Or was it just that glaringly obvious?  Either way, half of him wanted to leave it be, and the other half wanted to investigate more for his own sanity.  So Tomislav cleared his throat for the attention of the student waiting in front of him in the Starbucks line.  “Do you, um, read the Radzine stuff a lot?” he asked, timidly, before trying to slacken his shoulders and appear more lax about the whole thing.  “Just like, wondering.  I don’t, really.  Often.  Do people usually?  What do they talk about?” *// @radopens

Switching from hot coffee to cold seemed sacrilegious to Tommo, who peered suspiciously at each student who left the queue with a plastic cup of the sweetened ice beverage. It was summer now, evident in his switch from sweatpants to regular denim, sleek leather boots to gaudy, flashy sneakers. His head was bent and his thumb scrolled lazily through his twitter feed when a familiar voice made him turn, lifting a brow before he recognized it fully. “Tomislav!” The greeting was warm, and matched with a smile. “I don’t, not after Chlamydiagate. Huge misunderstanding, those incels really have no interest in decent journalism.” Tommo clucked his tongue, before canting his head. “Why? Have you done something worth reporting?”

scige:
( @radopens )
“Hey - hey!” Stumbling over her own feet - like her shoes had been two sizes too big, almost, Saige tapped the other on the shoulder - though it felt more like a pat than anything else, gripping onto them as she readjusted her balance, her frame wobbly even then, “Do you like - do you have your phone on you - like, is it working? Like - god, uh - like, alive? Sorry I just, like -” Drink in one hand and sloshing dangerously, she let go of their shoulder to dig for her phone - bringing it up with a sway, “ - Mine’s like - super totally dead, and like - I think I need like, an uber or something. Can I call one on yours? I’ll like - pay you back and everything, I just like - I just like, wanna go home, y’know? Party’s like - sort of like, lame and whatever - and I just like, kind of wanna go home.”
Tumblr media
Tommo patted absently at his bomber jacket, hands travelling over the quilted surface. First the pocket at his chest, (empty except for his house keys and a loose cigarette), then the two at his sides, (which housed a lighter, his car keys and a pack black Russian Sobranies) before he found his phone in the opposite pocket that his wallet had been shoved in. Loosening it from the where it was stowed away in denim, he clicked the home screen to squint at the percentage displayed. “I’m at seventy, remembered to charge it in the car.” Tommo’s free hand rose to tap at his temple, and he grinned at Saige. “I’m using that old coconut.” He tilted his head as she finished her words, and his brows knit. “I just got here, but if the party’s dead I’m going home too, there’s better prospects tonight.” His shoulder, now free, rose in a shrug. “I love summertime. Maybe I’ll get Maks to see if he can outrun the Kawasaki in his rusty piece of work. Want a ride? Took the Jeep here, by the way-- not the bike.”

“Oof,” Tommo said as he walked away from where he’d just been with Mili, unable to let his stupid smile slip from his features, even as he passed by Viktor and his unusually stony expression. He’d halted in the sand, looking at him quizzically. “Turn that frown upside down, Samuels. It’s a good day to have a good day. Look at that sunset, it looks like it was just made for a postcard.” He held out his can of White Claw, offering it. “Still has a bit in it, if you want-- you can get a head start on that bonfire buzz. Looks like you need it.”

the beach at sunset was mili’s favorite part of the trip so far, even with all the incredible parties and the fancy place they were living in, nothing seemed to be enough to beat the sun going down over the sea. she’d been in the sun for as long as she could that afternoon, clad in her bikini, earphones in keeping the drama and everything else that was happening around her away from her mind. now she was starting to get cold, so she took them out and fished in her bag for a hoodie, slipping it on. that brief interval without music was enough for her to hear someone calling out to her, turning around to find tommo walking towards her. “hey, come sit down, there’s still like, two or three minutes left of the sunset show,” she said with a grin, tapping the spot next to her. “you having a good time?” @tommaso-gatti
Tumblr media
“Just who I was looking for,” Tommo crooned, pleased to have found Mili so shortly after leaving his cabin. He’d spent most of the trip clad as he did usually, colourful shirts were undone over undershirts (or sometimes nothing at all) with chains piled on top, and his usual jeans were swapped out for linen pants that wrinkled at the top but were quite breezy on the beach. She gestured to the seat beside her and he happily plopped down, holding out two cans of seltzer (possibly the only thing he’d been drinking since they’d arrived) that he’d been holding on to. “One for you,” he instructed, popping the top of the other, “And one for me.” Instead of watching the sunset, he angled himself to talk to her. “It’s nice, here. I went once last year to race, there’s a few guys here who are really nuts about their cars-- real expensive ones too, but never to relax.” He bumped her shoulder, not brushing away after he’d made contact. “It’s good to spend time with everyone outside of school too. What about you?”

@knoxgina
“Gina Knox,” Tommo said, looping around the beach chair that Gina was sprawled upon, catching the last bit of the afternoon sun before the rest of the Radcliffe students headed off to enjoy the warmth of the barbeque. “I heard the most awful rumour about you the other day.” He settled himself down on the edge of her chair, his long torso shading out the sun over her. Instead of waiting for prompting or direction, the male continued, slurping casually at the seltzer in his hand to punctuate his words. “Apparently, you’ve got a boyfriend? He kind of looks like a twerp, I’m a bit disappointed.” Dark eyes found hers and the corner of his mouth lifted, teasing. In truth, he should have been annoyed with her, especially considering the grievances that she’d caused Willow prior, but it seemed to also be true that he enjoyed Gina’s company too much to allow things like loyalty to his best friends to cloud his actions. “Can’t be true, though. I told them that there’s no way a girl like you would be with Cas.”

campbellwillow‌:
Willow laughed at Tommo’s joke about getting married, though the sound was tinged with nervousness. Though she knew he was kidding, she also knew that there was a world where they would both keep up the whole charade and take it that far. She was a master at talking herself into things that she didn’t fully want, making up justifications for her actions to feel like she was mildly in control. Willow and Tommo were friends, it wouldn’t be that bad, she could do a lot worse. Part of her even thought that maybe if she tried hard enough, things could turn real, and then they wouldn’t have to feel guilty about lying so much in the first place. They’d already crossed one bridge— it wouldn’t take many more.
She was brought back when Tommo started explaining his summer plans. Her face contorted along with his words, frowning at the threat regarding his grades, souring when he mentioned Len. Willow froze when he kissed her shoulder. Before, this would’ve been normal Tommo behavior, overly affectionate but completely platonic. Now, she wasn’t quite sure how to take it, which only led to kicking herself for letting things get so complicated. “Yeah, maybe,” she answered, a beat too late as she forced herself to act like a normal human being. Willow drained the rest of her drink, setting the can down beside the bed before shifting so she was fully facing Tommo. “Thanks for my birthday, by the way. You really didn’t have to try so hard— I wasn’t that mad at you.”
Tumblr media
He frowned, pulling away at Willow’s pause. Something was wrong, between them things had a usual flow that he could rely on— friendship with the sharp eyed girl wasn’t easy but it meant something, she was someone to count on. If there was one thing he wasn’t accustomed to, it was discomfort between them; grit that would not form a pearl from. Leaning back fully now, he took another leisurely sip from his seltzer. Dark brows knit, but he didn’t speak yet, letting her take the lead.
“I wasn’t trying hard,” he returned, head tilting as he studied her features. The clever gaze, full lips that were rarely formed into a smile. “It felt right in the moment,” Tommo lifted a shoulder, “I don’t know— didn’t know it would make you mad at me.” He looked at his hands, “Are you mad at me?” It was hard to tell, she was often busy, but she didn’t usually ignore his texts and calls, leave him iced out as she had been. This felt purposeful, like a punishment, and he wasn’t used to the treatment. “I’m sorry, if you are.”

domfm‌:
The last time he had gotten a similar text from Anna was two years ago, give or take. Dominic had been on high alert shortly after, breath held as he’d open a newly received message. Luckily, the texts would be a simple check-in, something casual. He’d gotten used to the lack of bad news. He shouldn’t have. It was as if he was revisiting an old script. The one where his mom’s co-worker would text him, letting him know that she’d shown up drunk or high (sometimes both), and she’d be sent home – usually. This time she ended up in the hospital. He typed up a quick ‘thank you’ to Anna, not able to get any of his thoughts straight. It was hard not to get bogged down and he couldn’t help the way his gaze blurred, tears welling at his periphery. “Uh, sorry.” He rubbed an eye with his knuckle, wiping away the wetness. “It’s not that. I, uh, have to go pick up my brother. It’s almost two. He’s going to be let out soon and my mom can’t. Can’t pick him up.” Dominic tried to shove his phone back into his pocket, but instead shaky hands dropped it. He stopped at that point, unable to move, arms at his side. “Sorry. Fucking hell.”
He sighed, noting the change in Dominic’s expression. Tommo was often distracted, but the shift to seriousness in the other male’s features concerned him-- this time, he noticed it. The glassiness to blue eyes, the way he stood still, as if made of glass. “Hey, are you okay?” The words were offered lowly, between the two of them; a private exchange that those who passed by weren’t privy to. While he didn’t know much about what life was like for Dom at home, the way that he carefully selected his words spoke volumes. My mom can’t. “Do you need a ride?” It was an immediate offer, the least that he could do. The trembling hands were harder to hide, and when his phone hit the ground, Tommo made the decision for him. He swooped down, picking up the mobile before reaching for Dom’s back to steer him in the direction of the parking lot. “Come on, we’ll take the Jeep. What’s your brother’s name again?”
