My Demise
I look out the window
These bars are getting thicker,
I look at my feet
These chains are getting heavier,
I look above me
This boulder is getting bigger,
I look at my body
And it's getting weaker.

Childhood's Melancholy
Today's another day,
I see you coming
Carrying a fragment of my childhood in your hands,
But things aren't the same
The amount of sadness I feel at that sight
People who used to be, are no longer
And even tho it's just me, you still bring
That sweet but bitter piece,
Someone else cuts a slice of it for me
No longer the same one,
I take a bite for happiness
And got sadness in return.

Thoughts of a Prisoner
Treat me well
And you can tell,
How beautiful it is to see
Someone who is caged to be free,
Give me the wings that I need
So that I can feel,
I don't want to be caged anymore
Because I feel sore,
From your chains
That gives me pain.

Hello everyone! This is the side blog of my main blog @lovingstarfishsandwich where I'll publish my poems and some short drabbles in a separate blog!
If you don't know who I am, my name is Tortle! I go by she/her and English is not my first language, so if you see any grammar error please be nice about it!
I'm 21 years old and I write poems and short (or even long) drabbles! Most of them are sad but I'm currently trying to work on making happier ones!
Anyways that's it I hope y'all enjoy my writing and if there's a poem that needs a trigger warning tag don't hesitate in asking me to tag it as such! Last thing I want is my work to be harmful to others! :)
