#trainingtobemarvellous day 38, ab & squat challenge day 7 (I misnumbered a day in here before, oops!) 20 squats 20 leg lifts 20 crunches 20 heel touches 30s plank ⬅️ was a doozy Roomy pointed out I was doing leg lifts wrong, you should only lift them 6-9 inches off the floor and then hold 3-5 seconds for the best core gain. #trainingtobemarvellous day 36, Ab & Squat Challenge day 6 I'm literally laying on the floor after my workout, genuinely pretty surprised I don't hate what I look like laying down. I thought my chin was worse. So cheers to taking weird pictures, I was trying to just show people that working out is ugly sometimes and that's cool, but also apparently sometimes your mask isn't as scary as you think. My allergies are murdering me so Florida peeps stay strong! #trainingtobemarvellous day 33 (I think), what are days? An & Squat challenge day 2! I hope some people are following along at home. For February (and March 1st) we're busting out some abs and squats. These can be done in training by numbers style but it would be better to at least make sure your set totals are pushing yourself.
Note: there are modifications to these exercises if they feel like they're actively injuring you, DO NOT do something that feels wrong. A pillow under the butt for leg lifts helps, doing the plank on your knees instead of your toes, etc. The point is to be stronger, not hospitalized. Be safe.
February is going to involve crunches, leg raises, planks, squats, and heel touches. March will probably be either a leg or arm month, with notes on maintaining previous work. Good luck! Day 2 accomplished over here in my house :) if you're following along, please let me know in the comments!

#trainingtobemarvellous day 32! The kids and I went to the zoo and got in around 9000 steps, thoroughly exhausting ourselves. We saw lions, tigers, and bears, oh my! We also dropped by to see the giraffes, zebras, the cheetah, and the okapi Comacho :) Okapi are one of my favorite animals, partly because of their stripey rear end, and partly because of their cute face. We also dropped by to see some sting Ray's and I pet a few of them. For training today I started day 1 of the ab and squat challenge that I put together :) it would have been up earlier but I underestimated how long it would take to make the sucker with a touch screen and no keyboard. The challenge is pretty simple, it starts off slow and ramps up. You may notice the big numbers starting in week two BUT this challenge can be done with training by numbers. Training by numbers is setting yourself a goal number and then working towards it through out the day in smaller chunks. I like to do training by numbers for squats and ankle lifts, and will likely have to for the crunches and leg lifts I have lifted. Make sure to swipe over to see the calendar! #trainingtobemarvellous real talk acceptance time. I know I've missed some posts the last few days, I've been trying Dodge migraines and work on my art/prepping for a side project so posting my workout kind of fell behind but, I'll do catch up posts for you guys tonight when I have more time. Tomorrow my sister, girlfriend, and I are starting a 30 day challenge involving increasingly more squats, leg lifts, and crunches! I may add a step count goal to this. I will post a calendar tonight and a strategy for getting it done. Ok, so I said this was an acceptance post. We all want to look good, so, obvs I try to take pictures of my 30 year old chonk from flattering angles. It's as much for me as anyone else tbh BUT, if you check out the photos from today you may notice, I'm trying to embrace my extra chin x.x So this double chin thing is genetic for me, even when I'm skinny I have it because the muscles in our neck are just lazy!! We have to work hard to tighten these up, if we want to. But you know what? I kind of don't hate them in these pictures. I'm still an adorable, glittery, colorful nb with a button nose and round cheeks. I want to be healthy, and I want to be stronger, but there's nothing WRONG with my chubby little chin. Is there anything you've come to accept or appreciate about yourself that once bothered you? Do you guys want to see short videos of my yoga flows or some lifting? My exercise face is not pretty but, that’s not really the point right? 😂
I did not manage 2 sets yesterday because the jump squats killed me, I need to work on my cardio again ya’ll.
1 set of 25 reps each of:
Calf Lifts Jump Squats High Knees Flutter Kicks Crunches Laying Single Leg Lifts (each leg) Punches
And I did a yoga flow, holding each pose for 30 breaths.
Rag Doll Extended Child’s Pose Cobra (excellent for core!) Bound Angle Seated Forward Bend Wide Angled Forward Bend Reclining Bound Angle Pose Seated Half Twist (both sides) Reclining Half Twist (both sides)
Is there a pose your worried is too difficult or something you’d like me to try? What would you guys like put of my journey? Do you want to see my step count, calories burned, etc? How deep into this rabbit hole do you want to follow?
