ARC REVIEW : How to Kiss your BEST Friend by @jennyproctorbooks How to Kiss Your Best Friend is a particularly rejuvenating rom com which fills your heart with happiness! I saw this brilliant cover and immediately knew that I wanted to read it! Star rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Spice : 🌶️🌶️🌶️ The story basically revolves around the travel enthusiast and travelogue writer , Kate Fletcher and her high school best friend - the then unnoticeable - but now a version of Chris Hemsworth, Brody Hawthorne . Kate and Brody were inseparable as teenagers. She was basically raised in the Stonebrook farm estate that belonged to Brody's family. But years after leaving her hometown and losing all her contacts with Brody , Kate decides to spend the summer in her hometown. She knew it'll be tough for her to spend almost three months in her childhood home. She fears that the memories in her old house , the streets , the farm estate would haunt her. But when she finally meets Brody - who is a totally changed person, she realises it is actually her heart that needs shelter. The book guides us through her stay with Brody over the summer months and what happens when the pair fight their fears and ultimately kiss each other. Based in a suburban area of Silver Creek this book is a classic when it comes to a rom com! The Hawthorne family is absolutely adorable and so warm , that you can actually picture them vividly! Jenny Proctor has beautifully portrayed each character and really developed each throughout the entire length of the book. She sparked life into Kate and Brody's relationship that was so much more than just a friends to lovers romance . The book is a complete package of romance, laughter, humour and family life and one should definitely pick it up! Happy Reading . REVIEW: As promised here is the Review of "It Ends With Us" by Colleen Hoover , a very much recommended book by Bookstagram. Rating : 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 ( could literally give a 1000) Being a daughter of a woman who survived domestic abuse, Lily decided to change her life and moved all the way to Boston after her Father's death and became an independent businesswoman. There luckily she meets Ryle Kincaid and immediately connect with them. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened. I am legibly astounded at the riveting power of this Beautiful tale about love , passion, friendship, kindness and the freedom. I personally had taken it as a bookstagram suggestion but, Oh boy!!! I fell in love with every page of this book , every character and literally couldn't stop thinking about this book for days. I really loved the fact how Lily, at a really tender age had the capability to fight back in her life and change the future for her daughter. The chemistry between Ryle and Lily, although shattering and heartbreaking was worth it. Many readers hate Ryle because of his ways with Lily , but I personally feel that since he was diagnosed with a medical condition, he could never have helped his episodes of violence and aggression. He lost both his brother and the love of his life and I feel him! Lastly, Atlas was a true Prince Charming for Lily in this story. He was there for her , even after so many years and helped her out when she truly needed him. Happy Thursday Day dear folks! Here to share something amazing today. Last week I caught hold of this splendid Collectible Deluxe edition of "Gone with the Wind" , a classic piece by American author Margaret Mitchell. Having already read this book and watched the motion picture for ummmm ..... ig innumerable times, I knew I had to have this on my shelf once I saw it on Amazon ( @amazondotin ) and immediately proceeded to purchase. REVIEW : Daisy Jones and the Six by @tjenkinsreid Happy Thursday everyone! So I finished reading this amazing book back in March and couldn't wait to tell you guys about it. Daisy Jones and The Six is a WHOLE PACKAGE! Name a trope and the book has it. The plot basically revolves around the 70s titular band and their infamous split during a concert in Chicago. Years later the narrator is shown interviewing all the members of the group as they open up about their feelings and opinions about the band for one last time. Daisy Jones and the Six is a book filled with little messages all across the pages. May it be Daisy's non chalant parents or her drug addict ex-husband, none of them truly wanted or loved Daisy for who she was. It is really hurtful to know that Daisy even gave up only shot at experiencing epic love , not wanting to break up a family. Billy and Daisy's relationship is one of the prime reasons why I couldn't keep this book down. The tension between them and the constant rivalry was just too much fo us to take 🔥❤️. The other band members especially Karen were absolute sweethearts and their personal stories acted as beautiful subplots for the book. My favourite character from the book is definitely Camila. I feel that without her kind , faithful and super supportive nature, Billy wouldn't have been able to be this successful . Mother of three , she was ever watchful and was like a mentor and confidant for the other band members, including Daisy. Review: THE BEACH READ by Emily Henry. I started reading this book sometime back in the end of Feb '22 and am not sure whether I liked it. I wouldn't say it's amazing coz it wasn't. Tbh ,at one point I was prepared to DNF this book. The only thing that was stopping me from doing so is the intriguing back stories of the MCs. Many refer to this book as an "enemies to lovers" romance but I don't think so. It was certainly a mix of " the miscommunication " and "academic lovers" trope because both of them had hardcore but unexpressed and unspoken feelings for each other. Rating: 🌟🌟🌟 Spic Rating 🌶️🌶️ ( Trust me , I'm doing a favour by giving it a two ) The book is a good pick if you are searching for light hearted romance. Gus and January's romance is a good slow burn eventhough they have the basic rom com cliches. Shadi , January's best friend was not featured for more than a couple chapters and yet her messages and small anecdotes about her were definitely the reason why she became my favourite character in this book. Book Review : -EVIL UNDER THE SUN 📚📚Hey guys! Happy Friday. Well after posting my previous review on Death on the Nile , a bunch of you guys dm-ed me to review another one of Christie's masterpiece. And well here it is! Evil Under the Sun is one of the books I personally like ,when it comes to the detective and crime fiction genre! The story is basically about the murder of the infamous stage actress Arlena Marshall , a flirtatious woman and second wife to Kenneth Marshall. Poirot meets the family during his vacation in Devon and eventually finds himself drawn into the investigation to find out Arlena's murderer , who was apparently strangled to death by a man in an isle called Pixy Cove. Evil Under the Sun is undoubtedly a must read for everyone! The plot is fabulous. The ensemble of the cast was simply brilliant , with men from every section of life. The book also has multiple subplots and the way it depicted the mindset of Kenneth Marshall's teen daughter is just way more than mere words can explain. As always, Poirot's brilliance left me spell bound and I found it difficult to stop reading the book. The Kissing Booth 💋💋 ( Movie V/s Books ):I have been a great fan of TKB franchise ever since Netflix released it in 2018. For those of you'll who haven't watched the three part film series or read the books , lemme tell you the story in short. TKB ( The Kissing Booth) is the story of two high school juniors , Rochelle "Elle" Evans and Lee Flynn and how their friendship dates back to the very day they were born at the same time and have been inseparable ever since and were practically raised like twins. But things go down the wrong way when Elle and Lee's brother- Noah, enter into a budding romantic relationship after kissing at the Homecoming fundraising Kissing Booth , while hiding this from Lee (as a certain rule in their list specified that dating relatives wasn't allowed). I kinda have mixed thoughts about the movies. The three part film series started off great. I have literally watched the TKB 1 more than 10 times. The story also had this unique idea of a "Friendship Rule List" . But by the time we reached the third movie, that particular list was became plot disaster. It was really cute to see the blooming teenage romance between Noah and Elle until it gets real toxic. They both become insecure and jealous of each other's close friends and eventually break up multiple times. Also I don't know why the movie didn't show the development of Elle and Lee's friendship, which was supposed to be the central idea of the film. And as for the books , I liked them better. The book is not based on the movie ( except the third one ) and has an independent plotline , although the basics stay the same. The books didn't have anything about that Rule list and hence Noah wasn't off limits for Elle. She srsly tried to hide it from Lee to save their friendship. Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday to my book fam. So although it's Feb 16th, I haven't been able to engage myself in much reading this month. Nevertheless I wanted to share this really special book I am reading right now. QOTD. Which book trope does your current read belong to? Ans : Well I am currently engrossed in Beach Read by @emilyhenrywrites and it's from the Enemies to Lovers trope. Eventhough I haven't finished this book , I should admit that I am definitely enjoying it. The writing style of this book is quite simple and the plot is gripping! The story revolves around two professional rivals , Gus and January. Both of them have a common mission, i.e. writing bestsellers before the summer ends and they end up broke! So January is a romance author and Gus writes dark fiction. But things seem to go the wrong way this summer when the two dare each other to write their books based on the genre the other is comfortable in. I'll try and finish it in the next few days. Hey everyone ! A very Happy Chinese New Year to everyone out there! So, February 2k22 is finally here and istg I haven't been able to start reading anything new due to my overburdening assignments ( woof!). Nevertheless, I wanted to share this book with you people! QOTD: Do any of you enjoy Crime Thriller or detective fiction? Answer : Crime Thriller or detective fiction is not my favourite genre , but ngl it attracts me like hell! I am a huge fan of Agatha Christie and have spend most of my tween years in the world of Hercule Poirot and Miss Marpel. (Sherlock Holmes comes second in my list). And when it comes to selecting my favourite book from this genre, it's definitely gonna be "Death on the Nile " by @officialagathachristie. This spine chilling novel has every dose of thrill that a true fan of Crime genre needs. The story basically revolves around a couple , Simon and Linnet , and how their fairytale honeymoon is cut short when their common friend and Simon's former fiance Jacqueline shows up on their steamer trip across the River Nile. Following , Linnets's sudden and unfortunate murder , things start going haywire , but luckily Monsieur Poirot is there, with his intellectual grandeur. I had started this book sometime in 2021 and it didn't take me long to finish both the books that have been released uptil now in this series ( The other one being Chain of Iron ). The Last Hours Trilogy takes place in Edwardian London, sometime is the very early 1900s. It revolves around the next generation of the characters of the Infernal devices , the protagonists being Cordelia Carstairs, James and Lucie Herondale , Matthew Fairchild , the Blackthorns and Lightwood siblings. A new disaster has plagued the shadow World in London , when the Shadowhunters are being attacked by demons in broad daylight. Many are injured and more are dying without any proper cure for the demon poison. In such times Cordelia and her family are stuck in London fighting and keeping these demons at bay. While reading this book 📚 it felt really very different when compared to what I felt while flipping through " The Mortal Instruments". The prime reasons are :- 1.
