SANGRE EN LA PISCINA de Agatha Christie Acopañaremos una vez al detective Hercules Poirot en un nuevo crimen, aunque esta vez no se encargará del caso él, sino que los sospechosos/as son quienes deciden sincerarse con él y él quien sacará las conclusiones. Con todos los libros de la autora me pasa lo mismo, se me hace más lento en la presentación de los personajes, pero a raíz del suceso se pone cada vez interesante, tanto que es imposible parar de leer. Una vez más parece que esté participando en el juego del Cluedo, aunque esta historia se me ha hecho un pelín más lenta que las otras que he leído de la autora. ☕ Cozy mystery book time! ☕ Did you know that there were a number of murder mystery plays that Agatha Christie wrote for stage that never made it to print during her lifetime? The only exception to this was of course her very famous play The Mousetrap, that was published both as a play as well as a novella with the alternative title Three Blind Mice . Charles Osborne, well know writer and drama critic, was the only person who was allowed by the Agatha Christie estate to produce adapted works in her name. He also went on to novelize and publish in her name many of her unpublished plays, like Black Coffee featured here, posthumously. Visited Agatha Christie’s house Greenway! Thanks to the virus we couldn’t go inside the building but the grounds were beautiful and there were so many little areas with cute insights into the Christie family life. Oh, and plenty of little benches with sea views where I could sit and read #Clocks.

Book club suggestions comin’ atcha - is this possibly more gangsta than crime fictional? @margotgoodlife has picked an absolute doozie published just last month “The Christie Affair” by Nina De Gramont which reimagines what happened in the 11 days that Agatha Christie went missing (Agatha’s best mystery ever - no one ever solved what happened in those 11 days). Obviously I started leaping over my bookcases when I heard this suggestion and by the time we had settled upon Rebecca F’s brilliant second suggestion by her 13 year old Agatha Oracle daughter “The Big Four” (published after her disappearance) we were also leaping to conspiracy theories galore. The wild card this month is the best Mother’s Day book present ever “Another year of Wonder” by Clemency Burton-Hill - a glorious pluck of different pieces of music for ..well…yup…every day of the year. Gizli Düşman - Agatha Christie (kitap yorumu) Polisiye kraliçesinin kaleme aldığı ikinci kitabı "Gizli Düşman" yorumu ile karşınızdayım 🔍 konusuna değinmeden önce söylemek isterim. Yazarın ilk döneminden olduğunu okurken anlıyorsunuz. enerjisini, gençliğin verdiği cesareti, kurgusunda barındırdığı detaylar, kısacası okurken yazarın izlerini ve duygularını hissedebiliyorsunuz😍 konusu ise, çocukluk günlerinden bu yana arkadaş olan Tommy ve Tuppence ikilisinin bir araya gelmesiyle başlıyor. Savaş günleri geride kalmıştır. Tuppence ve Tommy bağımsız bir yaşam için çabalamaktadır. Savaşın getirdiği yoksulluk herkesi perişan etmiştir. Tuppence'in isteği zengin olmaktır. O yüzden arkadaşı Tommy ile beraber bir dedektiflik işine girmeye karar verirler. Bir yabancı iş teklifinde bulunur ve sonrasında bilmeden telaffuz edilen bir isim bomba etkisi oluşturmuştur. Nedenini merak eden ikili bu işin peşine düşmeye karar verirler ve bilmedikleri bir tehlikenin içinde olduklarını anlamadan maceraya atılırlar 😱 sonrası ise ciddi boyutlara varan entrikalarla ve sırlarla dolu büyük bir çıkmazdır🤔 kurgusu şahane, okuması heyecanlı bir polisiye romanı tüm Agatha severlere tavsiye ediyorum 👍 anlatılacak o kadar çok detay var ki, ama değinmek istemiyorum. Book Review : -EVIL UNDER THE SUN 📚📚Hey guys! Happy Friday. Well after posting my previous review on Death on the Nile , a bunch of you guys dm-ed me to review another one of Christie's masterpiece. And well here it is! Evil Under the Sun is one of the books I personally like ,when it comes to the detective and crime fiction genre! The story is basically about the murder of the infamous stage actress Arlena Marshall , a flirtatious woman and second wife to Kenneth Marshall. Poirot meets the family during his vacation in Devon and eventually finds himself drawn into the investigation to find out Arlena's murderer , who was apparently strangled to death by a man in an isle called Pixy Cove. Evil Under the Sun is undoubtedly a must read for everyone! The plot is fabulous. The ensemble of the cast was simply brilliant , with men from every section of life. The book also has multiple subplots and the way it depicted the mindset of Kenneth Marshall's teen daughter is just way more than mere words can explain. As always, Poirot's brilliance left me spell bound and I found it difficult to stop reading the book. Reseña de MUERTE EN EL NILO, que @cinecolorve ya estrenó en las salas de cine,, la película más reciente del director Kenneth Branagh a partir de la célebre novela homónima de Agatha Christie, quien la escribió en 1937. TRAMA La película se adentra un poco más en el pasado del detective Hercule Poirot, quien sigue luchando con este trauma que lo sigue luego de la Primera Guerra Mundial. Luego se traslada a la historia de amor y traición entre Linnet, Simon y Jaqueline, que comienza a desatar una tensión profunda, en especial en el dia de la boda de Simon y Linnet en Egipto, donde Jacqueline llega sin invitación, para complicar todo, Linnet y Simon llevan a sus invitados a un crucero por el Nilo, donde ocurre un crimen y todos los invitados tienen un motivo (exnovio, madrastra, madrina, amiga, etc). La trama está llena de giros, misterios y revelaciones donde muestran el poder deductivo de Poirot así como sus extravagancias. Los escenarios de Egipto/Nilo y el barco Karnak (construido especialmente para la película) son espectaculares, un deleite visual que hace que provoque hacer un crucero en este paradisiaco lugar. Agatha Christie escribió muchas obras irrepetibles en el género policial, y la película que nos ocupa hoy en Cine Classic Canal es una adaptación magistral de una de ellas, "Asesinato en el Orient Express", una obra de arte de Sidney Lumet que cuenta con uno de los repartos más impresionantes de la historia del cine: Albert Finney, Lauren Bacall, Martin Balsam, Sean Connery, Ingrid Bergman, Anthony Perkins, Richard Widmark, Michael York, Jacqueline Bisset, Vanessa Redgrave....sencillamente irrepetible. El asesinato despiadado de una niña y la consiguiente destrucción de una familia son el punto de partida de esta apasionante historia, basada en el libro homónimo de la genial escritora. Hércules Poirot nunca brilló tanto. Misterio, suspense, investigación....todos los ingredientes para disfrutar de un rato de cine inolvidable.
