The FCC will listen to you if you make a legal argument.
One argument you can make in your call or email is that the repeal of the existing rules of net neutrality is unconstitutional because allowing service providers to throttle or block sites, even if it is done transparently, paves the way for reducing and restricting free speech and free press. For example, Verizon could block independent news sites who give them bad coverage.
There are only two days until the vote. Don’t stop now!

We’re taking a break today to speak out on a critical issue.
If you’re in the U.S. it’s critical that you make at least three (3) phone calls today. One to each of your Senators, and one to your Represenative in the House.
Tell them you demand they take immediate action to permanently protect Net Neutrality.

The HPA (& 170+ more rad groups) signed a document urging the FCC to continue support of the net neutrality protections that were put into place back in 2015. “[We] urge you and your colleagues to oppose legislation and regulatory actions that would threaten net neutrality and roll back the important protections put in place by the FCC in 2015 and to continue to enforce the Open Internet Order as it stands,” the groups write. What’s next? We must keep fighting, until the very end.

On February 3, 2017, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) revoked all of the designations of Lifeline Broadband Providers and ordered the retraction of multiple reports, including the “E-rate Modernization Progress Report” and “Improving the Nation’s Digital Infrastructure.” The American Library Association (ALA) is dismayed by these actions to reduce digital opportunity and revise the public record. ALA President Julie Todaro released the following statement. “The American Library Association (ALA) strenuously objects to recent actions by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). First, the ALA is alarmed by the sudden revocation of the nine Lifeline Broadband Provider designations. Reducing options for Lifeline broadband services is a step back in efforts to close the homework gap and digital divide, and is at odds with Chairman Pai’s stated desire to advance digital empowerment. The 2016 Lifeline modernization order represented a critical milestone in our national commitment to connect low-income Americans to the broadband that powers educational and economic opportunity. ALA and our nation’s 120,000 libraries are committed to advancing digital opportunity for all, and we urge the FCC to increase the number of broadband options available for Lifeline customers.

Congress just gutted your privacy protections
Congress just gutted your privacy protections. And if the Trump team has its way Net Neutrality will be next.
Hours ago, House Republicans voted to throw out the broadband-privacy rules the FCC passed last year. These important protections were designed to prevent your internet service provider from selling your personal data (such as your web-browsing history) to advertisers and other companies without your consent.
This matters for two reasons:
1. The people who voted for this dangerous resolution care more about pleasing companies like Comcast than they do about serving you.
2. These rules were built off the landmark Net Neutrality rules we won at the FCC in 2015 — and now those protections are in danger.
The broadband-privacy fight is this administration’s first attack on the open internet. And now that they have a win on their hands, they’ll be pushing for another.
But protest works. Pushback works. In the last few weeks people like you have flooded congressional offices with thousands of calls. And those calls are scaring elected officials. The broadband-privacy votes in both chambers were close and we’ve seen the effect that calls, petitions and protests are having on other issues like health care.
It took 4 million of us speaking out about Net Neutrality to win last time around. It will take even more to save it now.
It won’t be easy, but if we build enough power we can win again. #NetNeutrality #Congress #InternetPrivacy

THIS IS IMPORTANT AND WILL AFFECT EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU
the FCC is trying (again) to put an end to net neutrality. This will mean profit for a lot of big websites and companies like your cable or ISP, and general shittiness for everyone else. It’s not a complicated issue. It’s a shady deal that needs to be stopped.
IF NET NEUTRALITY DIES:
YOUR ISPS AND CABLE COMPANIES WILL DECIDE HOW WELL YOUR INTERNET WORKS.
YOU WILL BE CHARGED MORE FOR USING CERTAIN WEBSITES.
YOU WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO CERTAIN WEBSITES.
YOU WILL HAVE SLOW AND SHITTY CONNECTIONS TO CERTAIN WEBSITES.
DO NOT LET THE FCC END NET NEUTRALITY
