The Agreste family had always been creative people. Gabriel Agreste liked to bake, but his specialty was decorating cakes. He would make his son’s birthday cake every year, intricately decorated with Adrien’s interests and favourite things at the time. When he was five, his cake was covered with zoo animals (joined by a trip to the zoo on the day. He cried when he saw the insects). He soon got over that fear and had his fifth birthday cake covered in creepy crawlies - which Emilie was not a fan of - which featured a large ladybug on the top tier, with five spots. One for each year. On his tenth birthday, Adrien had received a spiderman themed cake from his dad after having watched it at least 20 times after it came out. It was Emilie who convinced him to open the bakery in Paris. While he baked, she worked on her creative passion. Sewing. She loved to sew. Whether that was clothes, bags, upcycling old clothes into bags, as long as she was behind the machine, she was happy. Almost everything she wore was handmade. When she found out she was pregnant with Adrien, she spent those 9 months making her old clothes into baby onesies. For the first year of his life, Adrien solely wore floral patterns and onesies with cats on them.
