I literally can’t find a single gif or reference but yall know what im talking about right? Anyway imagine bilbo with a tail that seems to just stick to thorin everytime he passes by

After thorin’s internal battle with the dragon sickness, bilbo helps him recover.

During this time thorin reclaims and starts to build his kingdom anew, taking bilbo as his consort

For a few months everything is fine, the mountain is growing rapidly and bilbo and throin are quite happy together. Untill one day thorin wakes up to find a scale on his arm

Just one single scale

He hides it at first, then another appears. His concern was impossible to hide from bilbo and soon the two were equally concerned at the rapid spreading of these scales

Oin was brought in private to look at him, they’d spread to cover almost the entirety of his arms, his nails growing long and darkening in color.

Oin had never seen this before, thorin’s grandfather never grew scales or claws.

Once they spread to his neck throin couldn’t hide them anymore, instead choosing to stay hidden in his room, allowing no visitors besides his dear husband

One morning bilbo wakes to find his bed empty

After a quick search bilbo finds the bathroom door is locked

“Thorin? Are you in there?” He asks, hesitantly

There’s rustles behind the door, quick movements and the sound of a jar hitting the floor

“Throin?”

“Don’t come in here” the voice is thorin’s, but it’s different. It holds a rasp that bilbo finds unfamiliar

“Are you alright?” Bilbo grabs the door handle, trying and failing to open the door

There is silence

Blah blah bilbo gets inside and thorin’s like a dragon hybrid thing as a side affect of overcoming the dragon sickness and thorin is concerned bilbo won’t love him if he looks like this and his kingdom won’t want him but bilbo loves him regardless

Dwalin: "Thought ye were avoidin' this route to escape the hobbit's wrath"

Thorin: "It's been 2 days, I'm sure he's over it by now"

Bilbo: "Oh look, if it isn't the asshole under the mountain in his idiot hat"

Dwalin, whispering: "I think he's still mad"

“Actually, Thorin. There's something I’ve been meaning to tell you, uhm … something important.” His demeanor changed as he realized what he would have to do. “It's about when I died."

The king sat up straight, looking the hobbit in his eyes. He didn't know where this was headed, but he already felt a weight tugging his stomach down and bile fill his mouth. He hated being reminded that the hobbit died for his people.

"You see, I spoke with Yavanna. She … offered me a deal. She would give me back to my body, uhm. In exchange for me, ah. Continuing to. Uh.” He cleared his throat, having no idea how to say this. “That I would continue to … watch over … Erebor. And. You.”

“So … you … made a deal with Yavanna?” He suddenly felt breathless as he was hit with realization. “You gave up your paradise.”

Bilbo parted his lips, as if to defend himself. But he had nothing. “Well, I suppose.”
