Haven’t seen many in a few years unfortunately since their populations are declining but I remember when there used to be so many when I was a kid. Me and my friends always used to have those bug catcher toys and we would collect them before letting them go. Miss seeing them around in the wild 🐞

Ranting about my pokémon oc, desmond. TW for abuse and angstiness. Looong wordy post.

I had kind of a revelation about dessie’s backstory just now. I never really knew his motives for being why he is, or story. He’s very angry and closed off but I didn’t really know why.

Now I imagine that he was abused by family, probably parents, probably only verbally but I’m not 100% sure yet. He was easy to anger, and very emotional, as a child, and his parents hated that. They wanted him to be ‘normal’ and, instead of teaching him legitimate ways to handle his feelings, forbid him from expressing his emotions, unless they were positive. Also, he didn’t have many friends and the ones he did have wouldn’t stay for long.

As such, he was quite ‘numb’ and didn’t show much emotions at all as a kid, because he didn’t want to get punished and was taught it was bad. He still felt these things, but never had any outlet for them.

So, now that he’s older, away from home and (most) people, he is angry all of the time because he never had the chance to express these emotions when he was young. He’s even more irritable, being sent off the rails from the slightest thing, and uses exercise, yelling/arguing, and Pokémon battling as an outlet. Winning Pokémon battles gives him a feeling of being in control and superior, giving him reassurance that he is in fact “better” than other people, and how he doesn’t ‘need to be fixed’. However, he never takes out his anger on his Pokémon of course, and always puts their needs and safety first.

He has an inherent distrust of other people, and frequently isolates himself for extended amounts of time with no warning. He’s especially distrusting of people older than him, or figures like teachers, professors, and law enforcement.

Lastly, when he was younger and had just moved from home, he was a bit of a nomad for a while. He would stay in hotels and occasionally even camp places, afraid to commit to being anywhere. In his earlier younger days of being a ‘free man’ so to speak, he would often get into business that wasn’t his, and as such got into a few physical fights when he mingled with the wrong crowds. This adds to his resentment of getting close to people or knowing them too well, and he also gets uncomfortable around large, closely-standing groups of people, gangs, or evil teams.

Thanks if you read all this. In short, he has experienced the horrors :p

Armadillidium klugii “Dubrovnik” is a gorgeous locality of the species, characterized by plentiful red coloration and large white spots. rarely, some individuals may have yellow spots, but this is not nearly as common as in “Montenegro.”

males tend to be more red than the females, but many retain the dark base color.
