When Lunar decides to do something nice for Solar, he goes looking in the basement for something to give him, only to encounter a strange little bot named Helpie, who wakes up and presents a mystery about what happened to him in the past. Taking a liking to this new bot, Lunar decides to spend the day with him. But when the two are playing together, they stumble across something they probably weren't supposed to.

And we begin the first big story arc for Another Dimension!! WHOO! Now that I've established the world and everyone's emotions, it's time to start digging into meat of the AU!

And technically, Helpie is the first OC of the story! Technically. He WAS in the Security Breach Show's extended universe, but this is my version of him and he has no ties to the one from the Shows. But I DID decide to add Helpie to this arc as Lunar's new friend because, in canon, Lunar had a brief crush on him that one time early on in the Show. (And yes, he's spelled 'Helpie' like that to differentiate him from canon's Helpy and Helpi.)

But yes, what happened to Helpie is our first big mystery, and it's leading to something important for the lore, I promise.

Welcome to Another Dimension, a TSAMS AU where Solar is the one who built Lunar while in his original dimension, having had no option to escape from it, or Moon's abuse or the guilt of Sun's coma; and everything spirals from there!

This AU started with the thought of how interesting it would be if TSAMS explored a "what if" dimension where a Solar had built a Lunar. This would be playing with the conventions of those characters; Solars (good Eclipses) aren't supposed to build Lunars the way (evil) Eclipses do (or Bloodmoons or Solar Flares), so what WOULD it be like for a Solar to do just that?

And then the AU spiraled from there! I started thinking of other TSAMS characters, and ways to play with their usual conventions!

Beyond Solar and Lunar, there will eventually be more TSAMS characters joining the cast, with a few OCs here and there, and I'm going to explore a TON of outlier scenarios and exceptions for them! Think of those "what if X did Y!?" episodes, but it's many of them compressed into one weird place.

The story currently has three main "books" in mind for its storyline, and we'll see how far I get!

Another Dimension Chapter 5:

Lunar visits Sun

Feeling nervous about his previous encounter with Moon on the balcony, Solar tells Lunar it's even more important for him to stay away from Moon from now on. But Lunar finds himself struggling with his feelings about Solar being so busy, and about not knowing much about Sun at all. So when Moon and Solar are both away from the Daycare, he sneaks up to the balcony room to visit Sun's body.

This was another chapter I was planning from the very beginning! Lunar HAD to visit Sun's body, it was just a must. It's time for Lunar to start processing some of his feelings about Sun (and about his current life with Solar.)

(Sun is hooked up to life support in this chapter.)

(Also to reiterate an edit from the last chapter: originally I'd planned for Moon to not respect Solar's name, still calling him "Eclipse", but I no longer want to have detail that in the AU, and have removed it from Chapter 4. It won't happen in the AU going forward.)

Another Dimension Chapter 4: Solar Visits Sun’s Body

After finishing one of Moon's orders, Solar goes up to the balcony to deliver it. There, he has a rare moment to visit Sun's body. Afterwards, Moon tells him something that puts Solar on edge.

Now, THIS is a chapter I've been looking forward to since the inception of the AU! Having Solar look at Sun in his coma was an absolute must-have. If the previous chapter was a warm-up, THIS is the one I REALLY wanted to hit those emotions with.

(It's so fun to throw in a ton of little lore breadcrumb.)

I also love throwing in little things that happened in TSAMS canon between Lunar and Eclipse, but re-framed to be healthy between Lunar and Solar. In canon, Lunar tried to use the Do Not Disturb barrel, but Eclipse would just throw it aside and invade his space, disregarding his boundaries. But in Another Dimension, when Lunar does it, Solar completely accepts the boundary and lets him be.

(This chapter has Sun's body hooked into life support.)

(EDIT: This chapter (and the fic as a whole) originally had Moon deadnaming Solar as "Eclipse", but I decided I didn't want to go with that detail in the AU anymore, so it's been edited out of this chapter and won't appear in the AU any further.)

Chapter 3: Beanbag Time

After Solar finishes up some work doing maintenance in the Daycare, Lunar invites him to spend some family time together in what he calls Beanbag Time. Solar agrees and begins to unwind as they watch videos together. But after a tense encounter with Moon, the brothers have a conversation about Sun and Moon, and Solar's relationship to them.

This was one of the first moments I came up with for the AU! It's time to start delving into how Lunar feels about Sun and Moon, and how Solar relates to them as well.

Another Dimension -- Chapter 2: Lunar Visits Gator Golf!

Looking for something to do for the rest of the night, Lunar sneaks into Gator Golf, and overhears Monty talking to himself about something odd. Meanwhile a short time later, Monty pays a visit to Solar in the Daycare to coerce him into another one of his schemes; and when Solar is finally alone again, he reveals he is hiding something vital of his own.

The second chapter!! We're getting into the plot now, and there are lots of little hints about the ~Lore~ sprinkled in throughout. (I wonder if people are going to be able to catch them? Heehee!)

Another Dimension

Chapter 1: Solar’s Burdens

Across the multiverse, only "Evil Eclipses" build Lunars/Bloodmoons/Solarflares to be their tools, and "Good Eclipses" (Solars) do not. But what would happen in a dimension where a Solar had reason to build them? Welcome to Another Dimension! An AU where Solar built Lunar as his brother! Solar has A LOT of responsibilities. He has to carry the Daycare all by himself, it its sole mechanic and attendant, and has a never-ending list of orders from Moon and Monty he must complete to avoid their wrath and to keep the Daycare's doors open, which he does for the sake of his comatose brother Sun. But there is one light in the darkness that is his life: his little brother, Lunar. Trapped under the thumb of his violently abusive Moon, and with no dimensional traveler coming to show him a new home he could escape to, Solar built a companion he cared deeply for. The two brothers will do anything to protect each other, but TSAMS-typical danger, drama, and dysfunction endanger their family. Moon grows more unstable by the day, Lunar is getting old enough to ask questions about his life, feelings, and why things are the way they are, and Solar has secrets in his past he must reconcile for his and Lunar's sake.

The fic is finally here! I've been planning this AU for almost a year now and I'm happy to finally start posting it!

"Beanbag Time!" From the Another Dimension AU!

Beanbag Time is something Lunar made up! It's where he and Solar go lay on the beanbags and do things together. It's like "family time" for the two of them. Solar was bemused when Lunar first came up with it, but he indulges his little brother anyway, because he wants to make time for him and be a good big brother -- it's one of the few things that can pull Solar away from his near-endless work. (It's one of the few ways he has to relax and unwind.)

Usually they play video games, or watch TV/movies/webshows together! They also do Beanbag Time if there's drama or Big Emotions going on in their lives, just to talk, or be together for comfort.

(Lunar hopes that one day, if Sun can be repaired from his coma, Sun will be part of Beanbag Time in the future! Moon, cruel as he is to Solar, will never, though.)

"I keep telling you to be careful"

TSAMS Another Dimension AU with big brother Solar and little brother Lunar!

This happens way more than you'd think.

TSAMS keeps reiterating that “Bloodmoon will always be bad in every dimension, he’ll never choose to be good, he’ll never change” so I was like “but what if he DID though”

So this is BlueMoon! He’s from my AU called “Another Dimension”, and from the same AU as the brother duo Solar and Lunar!

BlueMoon came from a dimension nearly identical to the Show’s. When Eclipse first created him, his name was still Bloodmoon, and he had the usual red coloration at the time. He was born with the same programmed craving for blood. He went through the same story as in TSAMS… including killing and feasting on people in his earlier days.

But the crucial moment! Right on the cusp of when Sun is supposed to shoot and kill him and begin his spiral, this Bloodmoon is given a choice to stop killing people, to find a way to control and channel his blood hunger. And the twins pause, and they think about it, and they take it.

The Blood Twins decide they won’t kill anyone from then on, including never seriously harming anyone, and begin a long and painful journey to find a way to exist with their urges while not acting on them. They learn to channel that energy into other places. (The timeline for this dimension changes drastically from then on, obviously, starting with Sun not resulting to killing them, but I’ll save that story.)

And the twins succeed! By the time of Another Dimension, BlueMoon still feels the cravings, but is in full control of himself. BlueMoon isn’t, like… an enlightened soul or anything, but having gone through the pains of giving up killing, he knows a thing or two about morality, mental strength, and the serious ramifications of murder -- and he knows the majority of his kind throughout the multiverse give into their bloodlust and cravings, and he thinks they’re fools, a sea of trillions who cannot see past their own animalistic instincts.

In terms of personality, he’s still a feral little gremlin! He’s loud and wild and mischievous. He does not know what “manners” are. And he can still be kinda physically rough with others sometimes (being pushy or grabby or getting up in people's space, or not knowing his own strength), cuz even though he has a vow to not harm people, that didn’t make him “gentle”. (ASK HIM TO WRESTLE, HE LOVES IT, AND ALSO HE’LL WIN.) But there are times he can display tenderness.

As to why they’re blue? The twins are still made of shapeshifting nanomachines, so at some point they changed themselves to a blue coloration and took the name “BlueMoon.” (Cuz you know the saying is “once in a blue moon” meaning something is rare. And it’s rare/near impossible to find a good Bloodmoon.)

In the storyline of Another Dimension, BlueMoon comes from a different dimension than AD Solar and Lunar. Multidimensional travel shenanigans and all that.

Excited to show these two! They're from a new AU I'm calling the "Another Dimension", an alternate dimension where Solar created Lunar as his brother!

I thought it'd be interesting to play with a scenario where a Solar created a Lunar, instead of an evil Eclipse the way it usually goes. (I call them Technically OCs; they exist in the same multiverse as canon, but are from a dimension not connected to the Show.)

So! This Solar has ALMOST the same backstory as in canon: Sun fell into a fatal coma after deciding to separate, the original Moon died when his Killcode was extracted, and the Backup Moon abuses Solar while trying to fix Sun; Solar feels responsible and tries to hold everything together while searching for a way to fix them.  

From there, after months of being abused and alone, that's when he created Lunar as a brother and companion for himself.

The two are very close, and have a healthy relationship. Solar loves Lunar more than anything now; he just wants the best for him and for him to be happy, which is why he designed him to be carefree and playful. He indulges Lunar a lot when he wants something (even if his interests and whimsical mannerisms baffle and bemuse him a lot of the time), but he IS the older brother and has the authority to tell him “no”. The two play games or watch movies together a lot. They have the typical playful sibling dynamic as seen in the Show, teasing and having banter with each other; Lunar sometimes hangs out where Solar is working just so he can annoy him.

Solar is very protective of Lunar against Moon, who is volatile and easy to set off; he often stands in between Lunar and Moon if he comes around. Moon has never tried to hurt Lunar yet, but Solar knows he's is capable of it. Just looking at Solar’s face makes it clear what Moon has done before…

(But maybe, this mentality of him wanting to shield Lunar from harm doesn’t always go as planned.)

And Solar still thinks of Sun and Moon as their family, and wants to fix them so they can just BE a family. Solar wants Lunar to have a chance to meet Sun and knows Sun would accept him (he tells Lunar that Sun is their older brother; he emphasizes it.) And, for all his abuse, Solar feels responsible for Moon's current state, and just wants him to stop being an asshole.

But Solar and Lunar at least have each other! And they get up to all kinds of shenanigans in their dimension.

I’d love to talk about these guys more later! And I have other alternate-dimension-OCs like them I hope to delve into sometime.
