A long time ago I was in a typography class and I had an assignment to draw a word out of its material. Like writing "Rock" and drawing it to make it look like it's carved from stone. I chose "Hair" and I was proud enough of the result that I ended up posting it online to Twitter. Whoever I showed it to online, I got a weird reaction like "Oh...cool." which was strange cuz I was expecting to get complimented on it. It turned out that no one thought it was a drawing. For months, everyone I showed it to thought that I was playing with wet hair clippings in my spare time like some nasty little freak.

Wound up crying because one said "Marshmallow, Warm" Which while i now feel like i'm winning at this whole being a human and friend thing if that's how they feel and i'm going to cry again if i think too hard about it okay too late im crying again- Not great for a penname but that's going to basically live in my heart forever.

oh my gosh yes.

I'm currently writing A Serious Novel and I'm having a lot of fun with it and enjoying all the ways you can make prose sticky and treacle-thick, but also one of the main themes of the book is the Victorian approach to electricity, and I'm having to read so many scientific articles from 140 years ago, and let me tell you... if I thought my prose was sticky and treacle-thick, it's got nothing on a Victorian man explaining for 30 pages about how he ran an electric charge through a coin

Had a dream where mini golf was added to the Olympics. And one of the Olympic mini golf athletes lost the gold because she hit the windmill.

And she tweets with a picture of the windmill and the caption “bout to go through my Don Quixote phase” and honestly I think that’s the funniest thing my brain has ever come up with.
