Renee (for all her faults) was the one thing Bella was willing to give Edward up for. By the end of Twilight, Bella is madly in love and (to her knowledge) going to spend forever with Edward but she throws it all away to save her mom and likely die in the process. It would have been interesting if instead of Bella having the paper cut in New Moon, what if Charlie did? Would Bella have sent Edward away if he (or his family) accidentally killed one of her parents? We already know Bella doesn’t care about her own life, but my girl is fiercely loyal to her parents and when it came down to it, choose her mom over her soulmate without a second thought.

In Kentucky gym was required for one semester during Freshman year and then the other semester was health class. There was a second ‘advanced’/more intense gym class that was offered as an elective after Freshman year, but was not required. Granted, I went to Catholic school, so this might not be true for public schools in Kentucky.
Reblog with where you're from (USAmericans if you're willing to specify state too that would be great)
I need to know if my suffering is just because my school district hates students or if it's a common thing

Shout out to all the Black ppl that can no longer participate directly in the fandom they love because of the stresses of racism 👍🏾 you contain multitudes of value and I'm sorry that the color of your skin and the power of your voice makes people not want to acknowledge that.

You don’t need to overcome your disability or mental illness to be “worthy”.
There’s a lot of focus on people “defying the odds” and showing that their disability “can’t hold them back”.
But here’s the thing... sometimes your disability does hold you back. Sometimes, no matter how much you want to, you can’t do some things.
Disabilities are disabling and you don’t need to pretend they’re not.
And it’s okay. You’re still worthy.

Stan Lee also said that out of all the characters he made, he put the most of himself in Peter Parker
friendly reminder that peter parker is simply just the character of all time. he's just a kid from queens. he's saved the world multiple times. his biggest problem is his high school bully. he has, like, all the hobbies. his story is determined by cosmic fate. he has to sneak in the window so his aunt doesn't know he's out past curfew. he always gets the girl. he's overcoming unsurmountable grief. he's like sixteen or something.
truly no better character has ever been written.

Do you know what is missing from Twilight? A scene or even a brief mention of Esme talking to Bella about jumping off of a cliff. Because here’s the thing, Esme is a vampire because she lost her son after running away from an abusive marriage and jumped off of a cliff in response. Even if Bella’s intentions and Esme’s intentions when doing their respective cliff jumping wasn’t the same, I feel like that is a conversation that needs to be had and I’m going to believe was had at some point in between New Moon and Eclipse. Because Esme held care for Bella before this, and in the voting scene she says that she sees Bella as one of the family. Not only would Esme want to make sure that Bella is okay, but you can’t tell me that she didn’t lay into Bella or at least tell Bella off for jumping off of a cliff. Also, give us overprotective Esme, like she just keeps an eye on Bella just to make sure she’s okay because she’ll be damned if Bella loses her life the same way that she did.

autistic people are allowed to fit autism stereotypes
i take things literally. i don’t get a lot of neurotypical humor and often feel left out of the joke or even feel like i’m the joke sometimes. i’m gullible. there’s no way to sugarcoat it or put it more nicely, i’m just gullible. i don’t always know what’s satire. i’m socially awkward and have a hard time befriending or remaining friends with anybody who isn’t like me.
much of the autism community puts so much emphasis on “all autistic people aren’t x” and not enough on “who cares if we’re x, we deserve rights”
this goes doubly for ID and nonspeaking autistics btw i just can’t speak to that experience personally

Quick Special Interest PSA:
I've had quite a few concerned messages about people's special interests not lasting years, or they haven't memorised all the facts about the topic.
Special interests are not on a timer. Some last weeks. Some last months. Or years. Or for life.
You are still valid and are still Autistic whether or not you have a special interest and whether or not it's the same one from a year ago.

I've discovered the best (personal) example of the difference between a neurotypical interest and an autistic special interest.
Was discussing the show Inside the Mind of a Cat at work. They are neurotypical and know I'm autistic.
I got very very excited when they mentioned they watched it, but they just shrugged and said:
"I found it boring. I like cats, so already knew all the information."
And that floored me. Because cats are a huge special interest of mine and I adored that show, even though I, too, learnt nothing new.
And that's when I realised: That's the major difference!
I liked it because my special interest is a constant want of interaction with the topic. I want to learn new things and rehash old things. I just want to interact with it! I am 1000% invested in this topic. It makes me happy.
They wanted something new, full stop. Rehashing old knowledge is boring because it wasn't catching their interest. There is no constant investment in the topic, so old info brings no joy.

Isn’t it fun when someone throws you a sentence fragment and assumes you have a clue what they mean? Tonight for example my SO came over, held out a half full bottle of water, and said, “My water. ”
I froze for a couple of seconds while I pondered this. The statement could have meant;
“Is this water in this bottle or something else?” As we have no history of putting anything else in water bottles in the refrigerator this seemed like the least likely meaning.
“This is my water. Keep your hands off”. This seemed unlikely, though not as improbable as the first one. We share everything and there were a bunch of bottles in the fridge so there really wasn’t anything special about this one. No reason to get possessive.
“Is this my water or yours?“. We both knew that I hadn’t opened one and we had been together all day, and there was no one else around to open one. Because of this, there was no reason for them to ask.
“Would you like some of my water?” This seemed to be the most likely possibility so I want with it.
After a long pause to sort through the various meanings and the probabilities of each, and once I selected the most likely one to formulate an appropriate response, I replied, “No thanks, I’m good.”
People wonder why I don’t respond quickly. “It’s a simple question, just answer,” is what i hear a lot. Well, it would have been if you had asked a question. But you didn’t. You dropped two random words while holding a bottle. I had to decode what you meant. You and other neurotypical people may pick up on these subtle meanings*, but I don’t. Just say what you mean.
Neurotypical people are so weird sometimes.
*(the bottle was tilted slightly toward me to indicate it was an offer, how could I miss that? /end sarcasm)

So Maggie was turned into a vampire after Siobhan and Liam found her on the side of the road starving because of the famine in Ireland. How do you think the circumstances surrounding the end of Maggie’s human life affect her as a vampire? Do you think she has anxiety around being able to feed as often a she needs too? Does she overfeed? Does she ever fully let go of that anxiety or will there always be that part of her that’s waiting for the hunger to come back?
God I have retyped this like 10 times because I feel so strongly for Maggie. Let me just forewarn anyone this might get long but thank you for the curiosity of the Irish Coven anon I don’t see them talked about at all
Maggie
According to canon(illustrated guide) Siobhan found Maggie on the side of the road and as she and Liam got near her to ask her some questions Maggie immediately knew they weren’t human and openly told them she knew. They also know her life and trauma before she is turned because Maggie is an open book and tells them she’s cursed and abandoned.
Maggie’s gift can also seem to tell intentions so even if someone hadn’t said anything she seems to know what they feel. In a sense it seems like a different version of edwards gift. She Siobhan meant her no harm, and whether or not Maggie would have been changed regardless she agreed to follow Siobhan’s coven. Though, since she was given the choice and did not tell Siobhan she knows that there isn’t an option I’m going to say Siobhan truly did have the best intentions.
Now on to your amazing question anon, I do believe when she was first changed Maggie’s probably a very feral newborn when it came to feeding, probably more than most and probably did over feed in the beginning. Once her newborn thirst was quenched however I do believe the anxiety comes moreso from feeling afraid of messing things up with her new family. She probably offered up the human she had been feeding on to Liam or Siobhan (probably Liam because she knew he was unsure of her) and had to be reassured she could eat her fill. The longe Maggie is around the less she feels like she will ever go hungry again but she remembers how the emptiness she felt and has many talks to Siobhan about why her life was the way it was.
I stand firm that as her life ended she never expected to feel a paternal or familial kind of love. She knew she was a burden in her family, knew that her siblings were more loved. So much so that they somehow managed to take every sibling to America besides her with the excuse to take care of her grandparents. Again, cursed with the gift of knowledge, she this wasn’t really the case. While she had intense anxiety about then having ti be alone as a vampire she clung to Siobhan and Liam’s kindness and it’s something she will continue ti ask them every so often,
“I’m not burdening you am I?”
They always reassure her and she knows their feelings before she asks but she still needs to hear those words. That she’s loved, she’s save, and they aren’t going anywhere. Siobhan noticed this first and is more consistent on letting her know how proud she is if Maggie and how much she’s loved.
Ireland has had its share of famines. I’m sure when they have passed by people and she happens to hear that things aren’t growing or food is hard to come by she begins to have a bit of a panic attack. Liam is great at removing her and letting her get her bearings.
Canonically, the only the wrong are really told is that her coven was always honest with eachother so she was never a problem to be around (imagine her in the cullen house?) Her curse was trained with Siobhan and Liam’s help, she no longer had to blurt out that someone is lying but rather has learned to nod or shake her head slightly to her found parents whenever someone untrustworthy comes around. I believe it’s also her gift that has helped her anxiety, there is no lie in Siobhan’s words, she won’t go hungry again. Like every perso , she had her spells but she only needs to talk to her parents to ease her worry and calm those fears that can no longer hurt her.
