Update coming soon
Dear readers, ヾ(@^∇^@)ノ
I hope you are all well! Thank you all so much for your energetic comments!! I swear, they continue to get me amped up and have helped to keep me motivated.٩(*•͈ ꇴ •͈*)و ̑̑❀
Chapter 26 will hopefully be posted this upcoming Monday. Delays in future chapters may be an ongoing thing. Between COVID last month, a possible move by December, and some other hair pulling madness that’s been going on, my time has been stretched thin. _(:’3 」∠)_ I will of course be seeing this story though to it’s end so that’s not a concern. We got quite a ways to go. ✧ ─=≡Σ((( つ•̀ω•́)つ
Thank you all for sticking with me! 。° ᵗʰᵃⁿᵏ ʚ(ෆ❛ั▿❛ัʃƪ)ɞ ʸᵒᵘ ♡°⌒。

Hello, I like your story. There a few songs that I keep hearing on my playlist that remind me of MC and the first few chapters of Running down a dream. WICKED by AViVA and Freaks like us by sleeping wolf.
What songs do you associate MC, Nexus, Hadeon, and Ansel with?
OMG! Thank you so much for the question!!
My most sincerest apologies for taking so long in replying. I’ve been having some family and medical…(I don’t want to say issues, but it seem to sum it up best, I suppose.)…
This was written over the course of a few days due my mind being muddled, overloaded, or on a fever loop. I love your music picks!!! I’ve actually added them to my main story playlist…(that I need to break down for each character.) teehee 🤭
My apologies if my reply is a bit long winded.
I’d have to say that Lovely- Billie Eilise ft. Khalid fits Nexus and MC’s relationship and Mc’s coming to terms with everything that’s happened. It fits all the time she spent denying the voices existence and her growing acceptance. For them it’s the desire to be excepted. Bonus: Birds of a Feather- The Civil Wars.
~*~*~*~
The Crow and The Butterfly- Shinedown is what comes to mind for Ansel after he loses MC the first time. Here she comes again- Royksopp fits Ansel’s feelings early on in MC’s current life during her teens. When the Love Falls-Yiruma and Clair DeLune- Claude Debussy fits his more methodical personality. Though mellow and angsty tunes are also fitting. Bonus: Love song- The Cure. (・ω<)☆
~*~*~*~
Hadeon has come a long way. He used to give MC hell when she was younger; Nightmares and sleep paralysis were all caused by him. Mind Games- Sickick fits best for this time period. Over time his feelings began to change. He became attached shortly after she excepts him as a part of herself. Save Me -Omri sums up his emotions in regards to MC. While he is quite attached to MC he still has his darker tendencies. He still enjoys screwing around with MC from time to time. Bonus: G.O.M.D- Sickick
~*~*~*~*~
As for Nexus I’d say he’s a pretty good mix of the two, though his mood is ever changing. One thing is consistent…Do it all for you- Allen Walker and Best Friend- Sofi Tukker fits Nexus’s feelings for MC. He is hella protective of MC and they adore attention, whether it’s positive or negative. Lady and Gentlemen- Saliva, Circus- Brittany Spears and Applause- Lady Gaga all fit with Nexus’s personality.
~*~*~*~*~
MC is a strange bird. Paper Flowers- Evanescence and Haunted- Skylar Grey fit her younger years. Darkside- Neoni, I’ve No More Fucks To Give- Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq., Thrift Shopping- Macklemore and No Roots- Alice Merton sums up her overall personality. MC is all over the place and is bound to nothing but the voices in her head. Bonus: What If- Emilie Autumn,
Bonus Song:
To the Moon and Back- Savage Garden
Arsonist’s Lullaby- Hozier
I have to stop here. I feel as though I could go on for days listing songs but I feel I’ve probably overdone it as is. I’m a bit of a music junkie so picking just one song that fully encompasses each characters personality is a little difficult. I’ll be sure to make song lists for each.

Hey, y’all! Been a hot second. Still feeling loopy. Updates to the story will be delayed due to multiple rounds of illness and family matters. I will be replying to comments and asks soon. I’ll continue writing the story soon as my mind is functioning correctly. My apologies for the lack of pretty much anything. _(´ཀ`」 ∠)_

Bone Bread
Ingredients
1 large garlic bulb
1 tsp olive oil, plus 1 tbsp and extra for greasing
1 x 500g pack crusty white bread mix
100g ready-grated mozzarella
flaked sea salt, to sprinkle
Preheat the oven to 180°C, fan 160°C, gas 4. Slice off the top of the garlic bulb, then sit the garlic in a square of foil. Drizzle with 1 teaspoon of oil and scrunch up the foil to seal. Bake in the oven for about 1 hour, or until soft. Leave to cool.
Meanwhile, tip the bread mix into a bowl and add 1 tablespoon of oil and about 300ml lukewarm water. Mix to a soft dough, then knead for about 10 minutes until elastic (or for 5 minutes on a low speed in a mixer with a dough hook). Pop the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover and leave to rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Squeeze the soft garlic cloves out of the skins and mash to a paste. Knock back the bread dough and mix the garlic into the dough. Tip out onto a lightly floured surface, knead briefly until the garlic is evenly distributed, then cut the dough in half. Lightly oil 2 baking trays.
Use your hands to roll each piece of dough into a sausage that is about the length of the baking tray. Pat or roll out flat until about 12cm wide, then scatter half the mozzarella down the centre of each piece, leaving about 5cm free at each end. Brush a little water down each long side, then roll up to enclose the cheese, pinching the dough together to seal.
Lift each sausage of dough onto a baking tray, then pinch slightly and shape each end to make it more bulbous. Make a cut in each end, about 4cm long, and gently pull the pieces apart to make the bone shape. Cover and leave to prove for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 220°C, fan 200°C, gas 7.
Uncover the breadstick bones and sprinkle with a little flaked sea salt. Bake for 20-25 minutes until crisp and golden. Meanwhile, for the dip, tip the soured cream into a small bowl and swirl in the pesto, creating a marbled effect.
Let the bread bones cool for at least 15 minutes before serving with the pesto dip.

Smoked Turkey Sandwich with Brie, Bacon, and Green Apples
This smoked turkey sandwich with brie, bacon, and green apples is tender, creamy, and crispy; salty, sweet, and smoky. The flavors and textures come together to make a truly next-level sandwich!Course lunch, Main CourseCuisine AmericanPrep Time 5 minutesCook Time 5 minutesServings 1 sandwichCalories 512kcalAuthor Caroline LindseyIngredients
1 ciabatta roll or 2 slices sourdough bread
2 slices bacon
4 oz smoked deli turkey sliced thin
2 oz brie cheese
1 oz granny smith apple you can get probably 6 sandwiches out of a single large apple
2 tbsp mayonnaise
garlic powder
Instructions
Cut bacon in half and cook over medium heat on the stove until cooked but not overly crispy (too crispy will fall apart on your sandwich). Remove 4 half-pieces of bacon to a paper towel to drain.
Meanwhile, toast the ciabatta roll or sourdough bread under the oven broiler or in a toaster oven until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
Cut about five quarter-inch half-moon slices out of the Granny Smith apple, and a 1/3-inch slice or two of brie cheese (however much is needed to cover the surface area of your bun).
Arrange each slice of turkey over the bottom half of the bun in waves so there is air in each piece. Top with apple slices, slightly overlapping, followed by brie and then bacon. Spread mayonnaise on the top half of the roll and sprinkle lightly with garlic powder. Place top of roll on the sandwich. Enjoy with salt and vinegar chips or pasta salad!

Song from chapter 6
They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-haaa -Napoleon XIV
Remember when you ran away And I got on my knees And begged you not to leave Because I'd go beserk Well you left me anyhow And then the days got worse and worse And now you see I've gone Completely out of my mind And they're coming to take me away ha-haaa They're coming to take me away ho ho hee hee ha haaa To the funny farm Where life is beautiful all the time And I'll be happy to see those nice young men In their clean white coats And they're coming to take me away ha haaa You thought it was a joke And so you laughed You laughed when I said That losing you would make me flip my lid Right? You know you laughed I heard you laugh. You laughed You laughed and laughed and then you left But now you know I'm utterly mad And they're coming to take me away ha haaa They're coming to take me away ho ho hee hee ha haaa To the happy home with trees and flowers and chirping birds And basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes And they're coming to take me away ha haaa I cooked your food I cleaned your house And this is how you pay me back For all my kind unselfish, loving deeds Ha! Well you just wait They'll find you yet and when they do They'll put you in the A.S.P.C.A. You mangy mutt And they're coming to take me away ha haaa They're coming to take me away ha haaa ho ho hee hee To the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time And I'll be happy to see those nice young men In their clean white coats And they're coming to take me away To the happy home with trees and flowers and chirping birds And basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes And they're coming to take me away ha haaa!
