WEBTOON WIP RAMBLE

Ok so this is kinda just for myself to see the progress I've been making so.

In terms of progress I've been completing various things here and there to keep myself motivated/interested. So Far:

Made a huge Notion page with 11 Sub-Pages (who also have smaller sub-pages in them) to organize all of my information + keep track of what has and hasn't been done.

Re-organized all my dedicated computer files for the project (2d, 3d, Sketchup, Screenshots, Wips, Etc) and made a custom ICO Icon (It's actually just a folder but I changed the Icon lol).

Decided on a Title and made the text/logo.

Started working on the brainstorming/concept art of some important building(s).

Made a couple of useable models (although some need adjusting + more detail).

Written the summary (as in the general plot points) for about 13 chapters (keeping in mind that it's a comic, so not super long).

Things have been a bit slower than expected because I've decided I want the city to have a specific aesthetic rather than a generic medieval fantasy city (no shame in that, I just have a different idea in mind, but it will still likely follow a lot of generic medieval fantasy elements). Although I was trying to be relatively relaxed/casual about this, I've decided I don't wanna half or 3/4 ass it and I've been enjoying the prep work so far.

I'm also taking online art courses at the same time to improve my anatomy, composition, storytelling, etc. Trying to separate my time between the two now that my portfolio is mostly finished!

I'm also trying to be patient with myself because I recently finished the SketchUp course and I've learned a few more things, so I might be able to make 3D models more efficiently now. I also have only been working with the program for about 3 ish months so I'm still relatively new to it.

It's been a while since I've posted! I'm still working on a bunch of things at the same time (and my portfolio for university, so I've sort taken a semi-break on the comic, but not exactly lol).

I fixed Leo's dagger asset - I felt like the first version was weird because the blade didn't fully connect to the hilt & it seemed to big for a dagger (looked more line a sword).

I connected them properly & made the blade shorter and narrower. Much happier with it now!

Also originally I was planning of having all my 3D assets done by the end of january and uhh oops... they're not.

Honestly though I'm not mad - I actually did make quite a few models that were decent, but I've decided to make them better. Instead of just going with a vague architecture inspo I actually want to make concept art for the city to make it feel more harmonious.

It's definitely going to take longer but I want to be happy with what I make :)! And im enjoying using sketchup (wish it had a 1-time purchase option though...).

I FINALLY DID IT YALL I MANAGED TO MODEL AND TEXTURE A WHOLE ASS DAGGER (this was my first time doing something like this)

im sure there was a better way for me to do this but i wanted to be able to draw it and make it shiny and everything, so i absolutely brute forced my way into getting this model to look good (there was a lot of cleanup to do and i had to hide a lot of stuff) BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY IT WORKED

the inside structure is a mess tho lol

im super happy with how it turned out and i can legit just import this into clipstudio paint as a 3d model WOOOO

made a bedroom for my oc!! currently unfinished (need to do floor texture, etc) but i'm happy with it so far,, ive been modeling a bunch of stuff for the shelves and making pillows cause he fancy
