i haven’t been posting progress updates because i keep writing like a few hundred words at a time but i am now at 6.7k!! it’s not like. my favourite chapter so far but it’s like half and half switching back and forth between their povs cuz kokichi’s pov is long overdue

when i talk about hirohiko and tadashi in my fics i picture those guys from death note just like

word count comes in at just under 4k, and i put a little kokichi pov in there, as a treat

i said i was gonna write and then i had a social life all weekend instead (rip) but i do still have today as well. i wrote about 2k, im just stuck on this one little detail. tiniest of spoilers if you care about that kinda thing:

i need someone to contact the “phantom thief” without knowing who “kokichi” is. but every idea i come up with would mean that they know his identity, his address, or the location of his secret headquarters. and that shouldn’t be the case. it also can’t be anything like a public callout or live broadcast because only kokichi should know about it. i dunno, if i can’t figure it out i’ll just have to change the plot slightly lol

that being said oh man i’m slacking on my kokichi povs big time. it just seems so much easier to make it fun and mysterious when we’re right alongside shuichi trying to figure things out, rather than have all the secrets explained because it’s from kokichi’s side so we know what he’s up to. sigh.

i’m obsessed with the headcanon that detective shuichi has a gun and uses it for anything but its intended purpose.

shuichi with a gun and he uses it to blow the locks off doors.

shuichi with a gun and he uses it to pop holes in the getaway car’s tires.

shuichi with a gun and he shoots the barrel of fireworks to make a distraction.

shuichi with a gun and he shoots a strategic place in the rafters, causing an avalanche that blocks the culprit’s only escape path.

another successful 3k and i’ve finished the chapter at just under 10k! it might surpass that number after i do my edits, i think i might need to add a bit more detail to some sections. but it should be done and posted tomorrow!!

didn’t write anything yesterday but i think i made up for it by writing 3k today, for a total of 7k now. at the home stretch of events so im expecting to finish up tomorrow around 8-10k and then edits and ill be done!

as promised i wrote about another thousand words today before i ran out of time so we are at 4k now and i just wanna say there is some pretty sexual content in this chapter and i feel so dirty writing it. but hey its rated M for a reason so prepare yourselves yall.

progress is slow and steady! i’m at 3k and i don’t expect this chapter to be suuuuper long maybe like 8k. getting to the fun part so progress usually speeds up exponentially at this point as im typically slow to start, then i drag myself through the intro and then finally blast through it when im writing the part i actually wanna be writing hahaha

on that note though i DO think im kinda cooking with this one, and i finally made up my mind on how i wanna represent the yakuza and basically im not stressing too hard and im taking whats already canonical in the danganronpa universe to write it. so overall this is not trying to be a totally accurate or realistic depiction of the crime syndicate, but the fictional version of the yakuza where fuyuhiko is the boss. and we all know baby gangsta is chill like that. so if you’re a fuyuhiko fan you’ll be eating well this chapter.
